This video is worth the watch!! Hands down best entertainment I've watched in a minute. Being raised in the swamp this is what I love! Thanks to both of you. Bradley and Danielle y'all are at the top of my UA-cam subscriptions. Thanks for all you do ❤
Hey yall we love yalls videos. We from south Alabama and crab the causeway as much as possible. Love the gumbo recipe . Keep them videos coming us folk down here are really glad that other couples enjoy the same thing we do . Cooking and hoop netting, limb lining, and fishing in general.
My Mothers Family is from Semmes. I grew up in Semmes, and went to MGM Highschool. The Causeway and all the rest of Mobile bay was my stomping grounds till 17
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 we've lived here our whole lives in the BayMinette area in Baldwin County . It's grown alot here over the past 20 years. We love our rivers and the bay
Bradley: great job as usual on the video. Really did enjoy watching your trip and all the fun y'all had. Also, the cooking and eating was 1st class. I could smell and taste that gumbo thru my computer screen - been there and done that! Thanks for sharing - Roy
Love this video. I just subscribed! The “gumbo” looks good and all, but it looks more like a seafood stew to me. I use a 4 gallon pot to make my gumbo. Also, I add 3-4 quart packs of pre-smothered okra. But of course, every family does it a little different. The only important thing is, it’s edible! 🤤😋
It's Beyond edible. Your right, not sure any two people do Gumbo the same. All I ever knew it by was Gumbo. That dates back to the early 1900s with my Mother's family
Thanks for all the content and especially for all the recipes and just the all around how tools. I wish I woulda had you tube or known more about LA when I was younger and could enjoy doing all you do. I don't live far from La and in fact I go to Shreveport alot for my VA Dr's but never knew what I was missing out on. I just found your channel and subscribed. I've been binge watching it about caught up to current videos and can't wait until the new ones come out. Keep up the good work and thanks for making an old man look forward to the next week. Kevin Yandell
Thank you for watching. Glad ya found us. Hoping we get it done, My phone got wet and were just hoping we can recover the next few weeks of footage at this point, so be patient if we got any hickups, LOL
You can boil crabs, gumbo crabs, bbq crabs, sauté crabs, crab cakes……. That’s about all I know about crabs.😂 Sorry couldn’t resist BUBBA. Bayou La Batre coming out of you.
Nice catch! What is type is your vacuum sealer do you use? I live in Vermont we do a lot of hunting as a family. We learned that vacuum sealing is the only way to keep the food fresh. I like the vacuum bags with the bumps on both sides.
I have to laugh watching you finish cooking despite no electricity, been there done that. I have several oil lamps that I keep filled, always have extra water on hand. Wood stove for cooking. Living in the sticks as I do means being ready for anything. That gumbo looks great.
I know down there in the southern part of Arkansas on the northern part of Mississippi they've had a lot of mountain lion sightings are cougars have you saw any
No cougars. Dad saw one in the late 90s just south of the Arkansas line, in Oaklands Louisiana. last one i've heard of in this area, but they roam. we got plenty bears though
Just came across y'all's channel.... man that looks amazing...my stomach growling as I comment...lol...new sub... peace love and blessings from Dallas Texas by way of East Texas
Thanks for coming over, and stay tuned. Their channel, DAT Louisiana Life got hacked this week and they are working on getting it back up. I'll keep you-all posted, but I'm sure once up and running, they will appreciate all the support they can get. These channels are a lot of work people don't see, and we spend a lot of money making these videos. Thanks for watching and following us
Nice crabs. Your wire frame net vid inspired me to give it a try. After figuring it up I bought 2 cattle panels and made 3 frames I knitted the throats but am going to order the webbing. My problem is figuring out how many mesh wide I need to order my webbing. Like you did I added 12 inches to them and didn't like it so i cut off 6 inches. My wire frames are 56 inches long. Years ago when building hoop nets I would count the mesh on one of my old nets to see how wide I needed to order it. The older I get I am having trouble figuring it out and dont have one to cheat off of. How many mesh did you go with longwise? The only thing I did different on mine was bigger diameter. I went 28 inches and after welding them I am having second thoughts but I will try them as is. just kinda hope we never fill one up. I would appreciate any assistance. I don't have an email and don't want to put my phone number on here. If you decide to answer just comment on this or give a quick mention on one of your future videos. Thank you. P.S. It's hell to get old, God bless.
Any time you run into these questions, If i dont get you an answer, Call the net company and they will figure it for you. the formula for figuring mesh on a net is as follows: Diameter x 3.14 x 1.5 divided by Stretch mesh. So if its 1.5 mesh, divide by 3.
I Back in the day we just used cheapest bait we could ,, you all excited about 2 or 3 crabs in the net. Hahaha. It ain't nothing like we used to catch. Also when we thought we was doing so good ,the old timers would come up to us and say the same I just said to you. Your grandson will be doing same as us and so will we. The human race is destroying all of the things he needs to survive. Then will blame government for not being able to feed them.
Actually, The Government just wants us to think were destroying everything so they can better control people through overregulation, more laws, and fear.
I liked the video. Looks like yall loose power like we do we’re we live. I couldn’t afford a whole house generator so I went out and bought a Duramax generator that runs on propane and gas and I can run my whole house except my central air but we have two window units and we sleep in the living room.
Hello 👋 Bradley and Danielle, that old spatula that you have is the shorter version of the one I use in my cast iron skillet all of the time. You can’t find anything newer that half the quality 🙌💪👍🤛
@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 not only that, but they last too long and the companies can’t make enough money unless people buy new utensils once a year 😂
Supper sure looked good ! I’ve ate a many meals off them Coleman stoves ! You know you miss the ones that you had to pump up the pressure about every 4-5 minutes. Lol
That's the real deal there y'all, we from terrebone so we know too. 😃 Ida was a bugger, thank the Lord we still here, lost everything but that's material stuff. Storms come and, storms go, but Cajuns stick together and help each other. I'd love to have had a bowl of that gumbo with y'all. But, where's the tater salad? Lol😅 God bless y'all.
Glad y'all hung in there, without you guys surviving and rebuilding, we got nothing to visit. You guys are the foundation of South Louisiana for sure. We dealt with the storms in Mobile in my time there, so I know the pain. I've never used tater salad or eggs in my gumbo as some do. Not knocking it, just grew up on rice in it, lol
That gumbo look 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh yeah it was definitely on point!!! Thanks for watching.
Awesome video
Thanks!
Great video, there’s a lot of folks don’t know how to make it without power. We live in the mountains of East Tennessee
We just like you guys.
Pretty important the way this world is going to be able to adapt. We live in a world that will be lost without electricity!!

great video.....maybe a tutorial on how to make those nets.....
I think Ill do that. We filmed part of it already
Man you guys are living the dream!!! I live in Massachusetts and I want to get down there and do what you all are doing! Love those blue crabs!!
Louisiana Pretty much welcomes everyone, so come on. Half the economy in Louisiana is pretty much tourism.
Guess I gotta go buy me a shrimp boat like Danielle says. It’s tough living here in Louisiana sometimes. Great video guys.
You should!
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Dag gone I’m hungry for some gumbo now.
Gonna have to make some.
Better get them fresh crab for it!!
Same here.. I flipped my breakers just to see if I could smell it 😂😂
It’s a little hard trying to find fresh crab in Ohio, but there are a few specialty stores that have them flown in.
Thanks again for another awesome video I really enjoyed it and as always I'm really looking forward to seeing the next video
Yes Sir!! Thanks for watching
Great video. Would appreciate a video on making the nets.
We're going to do that. Had it on my phone and it got destroyed. We're working through it, but I'll do it if i have to record again
Just picked up a chamber vacuum sealer. Sealed some fish, slower but I like better so far.
Im definitely interested in one
Thanks but I was wondering how long you made the tube on yours sense they should be the same length.
I just added a couple squares. A local makes the like you said. It will still catch, I just wanted a longer net
What did you use for your rings for your crab nets
1/4in Hoop Steel. Ill probably end up doing another video on building them eventually
Saucy Bon! Keeping it real for sure! ATB
Thanks, were gonna always keep it real!!
Y’all sounding like Bubba😂😂
Definitely a top 5 movie of all time!!
That shell crab stocks a game changer fine job there !
You know it!!! Best ever

@bayoutrapper3782 I do like is, just don't like onions in it, lol
Why keep such tiny crabs??? This is why we have laws on sizes to take.
So many tiny crabs.
Three reasons. They legal, they taste good, and we don't live on the coast, so when we go, we keep some to eat while we there.
Fine eating little jokers!!
