    Thank you for this amazing tutorial!

    Great video, it really helped! I am wondering is there any difference between using proxy file and just render instance? It seems to be very similar. Thank you

    your channel is really very informative. Very good job, sir ;)

    What kind of lighting did you have on the scene? It looks so realistic! 😱Also those trees, where'd you get em?!

      I believe this was just a regular sun and sky rig in Redshift. All of the trees were from speedtree

      @@InsideTheMindSpace Gotcha, thank you for the quick reply!!

    Could you please explain how does work the sprite node and how is it important for quick rendering?

      The explanation of how it works is complex but it reduces the calculations on the rays from the renderer which is why it is faster.

    Very Realistic, well done, are using Laubwerk for the trees.

    100th like! Ground cover needs some work though, otherwise perfect!

      The intent was to show the possibilities of the workflow, not necessarily about creating a production piece. Thanks for the feedback and like though!

    you saved my bacon my friend, trying to render a field filled with tomato plants, with geo close to camera. It tooks 20 min per frame on a 2080 Ti, this dropped it to ~3 min

      No problem. Glad I could help. Dont remember if this is using the Sprite node for leaves or not but if it's not use that as well and it could drop it even further.

      @jamesmcintoshjr 4 роки тому

      @@InsideTheMindSpace yep! I applied the sprite node, I thjink that was largely responsible for the drop

      @@InsideTheMindSpace it's also worth noting that if you're using redshift proxies in a cloner, don't use multi instances in your cloner, just keep it to instances. Multi instance and RS proxies don't seem to play nice.

      @@jamesmcintoshjr that's weird. I have never ran into that issue. Could be something specific to your set up

      @@InsideTheMindSpace possibly, but when I went from instanced proxies to multi instances it more than doubled render time.

    Hi thanks for the quick tip. I tried to replicate a similar setting to test rendering the proxy as multi-instancer in R20 but the render time I get are not great: a.) Without sprite node, its around 10min b.) with sprite node, its around 9:50. No way close to your rendered time. Was wondering if you may share your setting or maybe this test scene so I can try to find out where my render laggings are? Thanks. I uses R20 15.0.29 and Speedtree (exported as obj)

      I unfortunately no longer have the scene however if you take some screenshots of your render settings and your shader setup I could take a look and see if I can come up with what is going on.

    • @jonmaster2143
      @jonmaster2143 5 років тому

      Ahh I think I found the drag in render! I have left the opacity, although unconnected, in the material. Deleted the opacity node and things sped up quite a bit, though no where close your achieved render speed. Though would be great if I may ping you my test project, just an exported speedtree in C4D with RS just for some advise.

      @@InsideTheMindSpace no problem, I have just tweet you a min ago with a google drive link to a simple speedtree project. I have BruteForce and IPC as GI, the rest of the leaves shaders are what I thought optimised (though I might have missed something) for Redshift with Sprite node. Thanks bud!
