They could have called this game Night Trap HD, although Night Trap seems wholesome by comparison. FMV games were lame in their heyday. Even maybe the earliest example, Dragon's Lair, which had beautifully drawn and animated visuals, wasn't any fun to play. It's a non-starter as a style of game.

See it occured to me last night I thought "what makes me frustrated when I'm having a debate?" Just doing some deep thinking and I thought, "well, it's usually when someone says something i disagree with but my thoughts aren't collected and in order, I am not informed enough to give a factual and logical counter-argument. Basically when I don't have the info available to disagree with someone's opinion on an issue". Then I thought, "but when I am well informed on an issue with factual information and logical arguments, I can have a calm, collected debate because I know where I'm at and I'm informed enough to counter their argumen and I'm fully aware of my beliefs and where I stand". So I know this is long but here's the thing. These progressives in my opinion coupled with the instant gratification seeking, the blind following of trends for selfish reasons and especially with the mental illness and not knowing anything about what their following leads to these dramatic meltdowns when people disagree with them, they have no real info or logic, only act on emotional impulses because they are purely ignorant. They aren't even sure themselves where they stand on issues and they are shown to have the loudest voice. They believe everything they're told by their peers even if its untrue, they won't research it they'll just go with "OH THAT'S YOUR MALE PRIVILEGE" or call you a bigot, sexist, racist, I mean they will accuse you of some of the most abbhorrent and henious things just because the facts, statistics, studies, and logic you apply- even if it's all 100% doesn't fit their (clearly politically backed) agenda. They are like indoctrinated and trained to have a closed mind and completely abuse people and act with mob mentality anyone who disagrees. These radiacal liberals and progressives- are the personification of savage behavior, mental illness and ignorance. They breed toxic concepts and ideals and teach fallacies in schools and universities as facts, the schools have been essentially taken over by extreme left comminists and marxists. As early back as 1947, my great uncle said the professors at the university (in American) were all self-titled communists. Black lives matter is literally a marxist organization which the leaders have said they were quote "trained marxists" and on their website, said nothing about police brutality but their objective was to destroy western culture and values and our family structure. All money donated hasn't gone to anything good, but has all gone to democratic candidates campaigns- this is all true look it up. I only bring this into it because it's an example of what I'm talking about as well as how people will blindly follow this stuff without hearing what these "leaders" are actually saying and preaching, they're literally sounding like KKK leaders (but black) and people are blindly following these toxic ideals and being subjected to identity politics and FORCED into following BLM otherwise you will be scrutinized or attacked.
