I was at the track in 2017. I'm still coming back to this video every now and then, still getting goosebumps. I remember that there was a video with about 4 hours of onboard and great sound, was it on your channel? I would really like to see it one more time.
Nope. In 2017 Porsche streamed the onboard video of their cars on youtube, I just recorded these laps. Not sure if the kept their videos available after the race.
23:29 of an Aston Martin onboard gives an even better sense of how mind-bendingly hyperactive LMP1-H was - this one, ua-cam.com/video/dvJN9eG5WOM/v-deo.html
I still find it amazing how different cars with different engines can compete on a pretty much even level. This is a N/A flat 6 cylinder engine turning 8000-9000 RPM while you have the Corvette with a N/A V8 turning 6000-7000 RPM and the Ford GT with a turbo V6 turning 6000-7000 RPM. And all for 24 hours.
I, as a car mechanic, find it amazing how these cars can go 24hours flat out without breaking. We've run a couple of GT3 cup cars in 24 hour races and always ask the drivers to spare the car, and not to push it too hard because it needs to stay with us for 24hours, then you see these guys, absolutlely just revving till the max, and pushing it, for 24hours straight, mindblowing how the cars can keep up for 24hours with the total beating they're getting.
This especially at 2:20 gives an idea how ridiculously fast the LMP1's were in the initial acceleration phase like if we drove the 911 it would scare us silly but the LMP1 make it look like they're standing still.
I’ll never forget watching the welsh rally onboard years ago, a drivers lights were getting dimmer late into a foggy evening as the alternator wasn’t working and the driver managed to complete the stage at speed with just the pace notes of his co driver. Pro race and rally drivers are awesome 😎
Well okay, theres driver changes but 4 hours straight is still more than insane. I start doing mistakes because of concentration loss after 20 minutes (in raceroom)
3:02 the Toyota is pretty wide into Arnage, yet look at how quickly it just disappears into the darkness when it deploys its electrical energy. No matter how much I watch the WEC, the LMP1 hybrids will always be incredible to watch.
Indeed. Unfortunately LMP1 lost a lot when Audi, Porsche and Peugeot left the series. Was pretty exciting to see Porsche vs Toyota and Peugeot vs Audi battles.
This still to this day is the best sounding porsche ever.. Also i would never forget to watch it and only hear the porsches scream all over the other cars😂 the lmp2 cars are insanely fast lol
I was there... This was easily the loudest and best sounding car there. Sounded much like a late 80s F1 engine (I know they're not alike) and was ear-splittingly loud on the S/F straight in the stands.
I'm sorry, multiclass is some of the most exciting racing that we still have. Nascar is dead and F1 will be dominated by Mercedes for at least another 5 years.
Some people listen music or to sea waves when they go to bed...
I am listening to this ^^
DanielZ 0815 the same! 🤗😝😉

Me too haha

If a racing car is able to almost completely drown out the sound of its straight-cut transmission, you know it’s absolutely deafening in there.
The rules at LeMans 4 hours per driver , and must switch. I will volunteer to stay the whole 24 hours just because of this 911 😍
not really but okay
Best gt car sounds hands down

Amazing how they can see the tracklimits.... i can´t see anything :D
Amazing indeed but you have to keep in mind that a camera usually takes in less light than a human eye is capable of. Still though amazing

That RSR sound is just eargasm! Amazing car!
These guys do not back off for one moment in 24 hours! The limit from start to finish.

Wtf. At 2:24. Like the RSR is standing still 😲😲
That was probably an LMP1 car (Porsche 919 or Toyota TS050)
Isaac Eshun, Jr. Yeah it’s number 7 Toyota 😉
2:23 Awesome, is so fucking fast...
how is he so fast into the 2nd to last chicane? much faster than the ferrari and even faster than lmp2?
Nanderlizer Nanderlizer LMPs need downforce to survive. It’s the slowest part of the tracks, that’s why they suffer and the porsche (or GTEs) win.
@@equaLx0 makes sense. If it didnt, another car would be fly again
GTEs are more compliant in slow corners than LMPs
This car looks awesome and sounds so good. I’m addicted
He is approaching lmp2 cars on the curves, amazing.

Very good and clear driving.
Me too, so beautiful sound. This is the best engine of the world 👏🖒
Boa noite, sou o comprador do marantz 2325. Compra foi novamente cancelada. Porfavor realizar novamente o anuncio
Music to the ears - sensational video !
This and the Corvette are the GTE cars with best sound
Can you put this on Spotify?🤤
I mean it, please put this on Spotify, together with every other onboard ever. This is genuinely something that calms me down❤️
@@PimSchouten I have no idea about how to put this on Spotfy, but if I had I would do just because your comment hahahaha

Excelente video genial, que sonido mas bueno porsche uno de los mejores 👌👍
SO Sweet. Speed differences amazing. - Nice Drive.
Absolutely glorious. Thanks for posting.
Sometimes I put this on headphones and keep listening to the sound of this engine... I can't have enough of this awesome sound.
POWERRR!
btw the rpm is wrong. This thing Revs up to 9,500 rpm
One of the other videos keeps the HUD limiter stuck at 7000
The driver is upshifting at 9000 RPM to take care of the engine. This is a 24 hour race, after all
one of the best sounds ever
Now choose a sound.
*Porsche 911 RSR GTE*
OR
*Ferrari FXX K*
rsr gte for me
RSR takes the cake 🎂
