RHEUB!!!! As a flute player by foundation, I had C sax and you are absolutely correct on it having more of a tenor personality, which was great. Really dug being able to keep my brain wrapped around what i was playing and not which fingerings in which to do it
Rheuben Allen It's a C Tenor Saxophone, & what's neat about this Gizmo is that you can play any C instrument music w/o issues. It adds a bit of Jazz to your mix.
There are many manufactures that made C-Melody saxophones. Conn, Buescher, Martin are some of the most famous. There are some new C-Melody saxophones being made but I do not know the quality. The older instruments are very good. There are many on eBay in the US. Good Luck... I tried to put the link but UA-cam would not let me.....
I believe what you have is a Buescher stencil, the "Man on the Moon" curved neck is a clue, but you don't show enough of the actual horn to really tell. maybe put a bit more into the Sax itself, no mention of the keys only found on C-Mels . Maybe blow one to show the different voice that it has compared to a modern horn.
You're into weird ones huh? Have you ever seen the buffet that has an extra set of keys hovering above the lowers stack? Never figured out exactly what they were for but it was something to do with the bottom notes. It had 2 octave keys too. This tweeker freak tried to sell it to me on the street, said it was a "pro horn." When I refused to buy it because the fingerings were from outer space, he screamed obscenities and spit on me, then told him I owed him $4 for his time I wasted.
Best C-melody sound all times you can find by Mr. Michael Ausserbauer on his C-melody Aquilasax. Just amazing.!
Thanks
Rheuben Allen It’s sometimes called C tenor sax because it is a tenor sax pitched in the key of C.

Rheuben Allen I have 1925 Conn. Plays great.
Some of the modern Chinese makes should be avoided!
