Godzilla Destroys the City | Godzilla: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)

- Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack a very long title to a godzilla film, and probably the longest one ever, but yeah this scene shows godzilla heading towards baragon and destroying everything in his way. Then he goes on to destroy mothra and ghidorah until he is destroyed by a super x looking machine.
This film came out after godzilla vs megaguirus and is the third entry into the millenium godzilla series films with godzilla 2000 being the first. This film was made by the guy who did the heisei gamera films and the special effects guy was an assistant special effects director for godzilla vs biollante, and the heisei gamera films. This film also had a cameo of koichi kawakita who was the special effects director of all the heisei godzilla films series except for godzilla 1984, but the films he did the special effects include godzilla vs biollante 1989 , godzilla vs king ghidorah 1991 , godzilla vs mothra 1992 , godzilla vs mechagodzilla 1993 , godzilla vs spacegodzilla 1994 , and godzilla vs destoroyah 1995 , and rebirth of mothra 1 and 2 as well as other films and episodes in certain shows.
But this film brought back ghidorah, mothra and baragon with a new story in gmk godzilla 2001.
What makes GMK all the scarier of a Godzilla to me is not just because of the white eyes and the idea that he is a spirt of those that died in World War ii that want vengeance, but also because its just so much more aggressive and mean compared to the other ones. Unlike in most of the other films where Godzilla is more acting on instinct, GMK Godzilla is going to blow everyone around him up and enjoy doing it.
The stamping sounds are oddly frightening. On headphones at least. It sounds like a literal monster waltzing towards you. The new movies are great and all but I believe they're being too idolized. I feel like they need to portrayed as they are and that's heavy colossal titans. They need more impact when they walk and whatnot. Now I realized this, punches felt far too light in GvK. When Kong smacked Goji in the face while he was on the ground, that was the only time I've felt a impactful hit.
True even the way the water goes when he gets out of the water
@@VinnyUnionHe hit Goji’s leg while on the ground, which still had the axe wound. Not his face. Kong’s punches couldn’t do damage or phase Godzilla naturally. Cuz the strength and durability gap was too massive.
The only time Kong did any real painful hit was in Godzilla’s leg wound. But that only made things worse for Kong as Godzilla stomped his chest AGAIN with the same leg.
I wouldn’t say they all acted on instinct. Heisei, Showa and other millennium versions had personality.
@@Shadowrulzalways BTCH! He *DID* hit Godzilla square in the face!! *When* Kong *jumped* off the building and smacked it mid-air while the atomic breath was fixated on the Axe's blade and they (the axe and goji) collided with each other leaving a hard impact right at his face. It left Godzilla momentarily paralyzed by brain trauma but as expected of any sort of lizard, he's recovered within a short duration of time, almost right after.
The durability is indeed far too unfathomable. At most Kong can just play punching bag momentarily until God gets pissed beyond patience.
This is, without a doubt, the most evil-looking Godzilla ever. He isn't acting out of anger or pain, or blind instinct. This is hatred. He's deliberately murdering people, and you can see in his face that he's enjoying it.
shin godzilla?
@@nickmosley6589 he seemed pretty mindless
Minus one is the most evil now
@@-_deploy_-no he is not. He is a Animal who kill and destroy things to mark the places as his territory and enjoy the destruction he causes but GMK Godzilla is complete evil and kill and destroy things because he just want to do it and enjoy doing all of this, he is aware of his surrounding, he knows people are scared of him so he increases the intensity of his destruction even more to cause even more misery.
@@crick_nerd1550gmk Godzilla kills people because he’s possessed by the dead Japanese soldiers who died because of the actions of the Japanese empire
My most favorite, Godzilla. ever. I love the GMK design. He's a straight up BEAST. His Giant Spines, Large feet and blind eye's are just intimidating. I love this Godzilla a lot.
An amalgamation of all the souls who were killed by the Imperial Japanese during WW II.
@@rainer250 Such a great concept design on this Godzilla suit. I have the X-Plus Gigantic series (Blue Spine) it’s so cool.
I find it interesting that the roles of Godzilla and Ghiderah are reversed, plus, Japan being punished for its crimes instead of being the victim.
The girl in the hospital is actually one of the teenagers from the nighttime store break-in. She survived that attack, but karma and Godzilla got her in the end.
Wrong she’s from the odo island attack aka the mystery lore this movie still continues from Godzilla 1954 of Godzilla killing the island Fock lore this is what I think that scene and her demise was a reference to and what store of her robbing? you are probably getting some other character mixed up with her?!!

that was a snarl of disgust, not a smile.
Oh my god, he does smile! It’s like the scene in Godzilla vs. Kong!
Basically it's a ghost godzilla created by the souls of ww2 victims
@@LORDMEGATRONNBE1mai visto, me lo sono fatto masterizare appunto oggi, insieme a Godzilla Tokio SOS, leggendo da ieri vari commenti, sembrano i due film più interessanti tra tutti su Godzilla 😁✌️
According to Toho this Godzilla is actually the bones of the original one from 1954, resurrected from nuclear weapons and the angry spirits of those who perished in WWII at the hands of Imperial soldiers. Hence Godzilla’s undead appearance; which is also why it looks modern with just a hint of the classic 1954 design thrown in. I was afraid of this Godzilla when I was little. 😮
So if Mechagodzilla from the Kiryu saga is also the bones of the original from 1954, then that means that Mechagodzilla is this Godzilla, but mechanical. But that’s just a theory, a MOVIE THEORY!
@@reteledman
No. GMK is separate continuity to the Kiyru saga. The only canonical events of that series are Godzilla King of the Monsters/Gojira, Rodan, Mothra, War of the Gargantuans, and Godzilla X MechaGodzilla 3/Tokyo SOS.
@@reteledmanalmost all movies of millenium its seperate universe. Its antalogy of godzilla stories
i knew that this Godzilla was brought to life by angered spirits, but the fact that the bones where used to reanimate him is new to me, though in most cases the bones where dissolved along with the rest of his body with the Oxygen Destroyer

Is it just me, or is the theme one of the best godzilla themes of all time? It even matches his look! Gosh darn I love GMK. *chef kiss*
Bro just turns up into a city, casually causes destruction while it marches through the city, stops to look at the fleeing humans below him, fires his atomic breath, and leaves the scene without further elaboration. This Godzilla displays the true levels of a Sigma Kaiju.
I would say that going straight through the city and not focusing on people is even more like that, similar to heisie godzilla or final wars.
@@GSTE_3ee
True but don't forget about the vengeful spirits who possessed Godzilla.
*Minus one has entered the chat*
The way zoomer brains have been posioned to think being "sigma" is cool
This Godzilla iteration was absolutely terrifying. One of the most memorable for me. He's gone absolutely evil in this and his eyes just being white adds to his scary look.

Same here.
this was a horror movie man. Just seeing this from the perspective of the people must be terrifying as hell.
I loved his white, almost dead looking eyes!
Very fitting for what they suggested was this Godzillas background, that he was the incarnation of the death of WW2.
0:39 idk why but i just really like the music that plays here and also the shot
I know why, because it is the best soundtrack and best movie ever!
This scene is probably one of my favorite scenes of Godzilla making landfall.
@@frisianwarrior2295 “best movie” is not the word I would use, but everyone has their own opinion.
Minus one : literally remake this film but great writing, great acting, no 3 monster. But formula still same
It's Mixed between this and 1954
IMO, Gmk has better writing. But that’s just my opinion.
The most terrifying part about this version of Godzilla.
Is the simple fact that he KNOWS what he’s doing.
He’s not an animal running on basic instinct or in constant pain.
He is the physical embodiment of all of Japan’s war crimes.
Possessed by those who lost their lives at the hands of Imperial soldiers.
With only one goal in mind.
Revenge.
Using Godzilla, a symbol of Japan's suffering in the aftermath of the war, and turning him into a symbol of Japan's aggression, was a bold and genius move by Toho. Imagine if DC turned Superman into an allegory for America's imperialist war crimes? People understate how important shifting the image of popular culture can be.
Which is absolutely terrifying. There were moments in the film where he really wasn't just taking every single human in one blow but he actually seems very selective about it. The scene where he makes a mushroom cloud with hid atomic breath was OVERKILL. He did that on purpose to hit a small number of civilians who were running away from him.
Things like that shows how different and twisted up this version of Godzilla really is
@@chuviis3508
Or that scene with the girl in the hospital.
He intentionally missed her the first time around, to give her a false sense of hope.
Just to go “Sike!” And then destroy the hospital she’s in.
This has to be my absolute favorite Godzilla suit throughout all of the movies.

the only issue i have with this movie is that they killed off baragon too early, it would've nice to see baragon, mothra, and ghidorah, fighting godzilla all at once
And the Original draft gonna have him survive and join other two
He could have done MUCH more damage tho, but simply moving around and seeing that his mere size was enough to destroy everything must have been so satisfying for him....
My favorite thing about gmk is that it actually shows he pain and terror of the people attacked by Godzilla, his also applies for the '14 film
All the other movies are just "godiller attak cit ee!!!! Boom boom!!!!!!!"
that's not necessarily true, it depends on the type of story being shown, if godzilla was a hero then it wouldn't really make sense to show that type of stuff.
And also quite a few showa and heisei godzilla films showed the people being destroyed by godzilla. In fact the first godzilla film, did that the most out of any of the godzilla films.

Seems like Minus One took the best elements of GMK, Heisei, Monsterverse and '54, to create the ultimate Godzilla, and it's now my favorite film and monster design of them all. Meanwhile here in America, we've got a totally different, Showa-style mood and direction, based less on science fiction and more fantasy. I like that both interpretations can coexist like this.

1:40, It's like Godzilla finally got tired of those people screaming and he decided to shut them up.
I know Anguirus was in a draft of this film instead of Mothra, but if he was still in the film, he should’ve been an antagonist (the Anguirus in this film would’ve been the original 1955 Anguirus resurrected by the spirits of the Vietnam War)
