- It's never easy to say goodbye to a beloved companion, we sadly had to do just that for our wild and speckled pup Bandit. You were a tremendous part of our everyday lives and we are so grateful for all the time we were able to spend with you over the years. Life won't be the same without you. We will cherish you always and never forget you stampeding around as if running was the only option, splashing and digging in any possible body of water, and most of all, looking after us. We love you Bandit, may you roam free now bask in the sunshine forever ❤️
It's the end of the growing season here in Alaska, we spend several days pulling up spent vegetables, weeding and mulching the garden beds with a good dosage of compost, leaves and straw. We also dig up our yearly supply of potatoes and get our garlic planted. After all the garden work is done we make Kolduny, a fried potato pancake filled with caribou meat and onion.

I am an old man. I have had "pets" over the years. Dogs, Cats, coyotes, hamsters, bats, horses, mules. longhorn cows... you get the idea. I can honestly say I still miss each and every one of them. I know that your two dogs, Bo and Bandit, and Hunter the cat had the most magnificent lives ever. All because of you. Peace to all.
I'm 78 years old. I've lost so many of my companions over the years. I look forward to seeing them on the other side. Thank you for sharing Bandit's story. I know he was well loved.

Just breaking. Sobbed so hard for the second time on this channel. Bo now Bandit. No one could ask for two better dogs. You both gave them the best life any dog could be blessed with. The ending with the squeaky toy really got me. I'm glad to know that they're resting for an eternity together. Praying for you both during this time. My Brittany, Stella, passed with kidney disease in 2016. She was bold and brave, and I nursed her as long as I could - probably too long. I have another Brittany, Tucker, who is 7 yrs old now. Our dogs are such a blessing. I'm sorry you lost your Bandit, and hope for you another pup in the not so distant future.
Bo and Bandit had the best lives, they got to do things most humans wouldnt be able to do in a lifetime. He'll be missed :(

So very sorry for your loss. RIP Bandit. I will miss seeing him digging in the puddles. Seven years ago my family said goodbye to our 14 year old pit bull/ bull mastiff mix named Gotti. She was a good and faithful friend that was right there when anyone was not feeling well. The loss of a family member is never easy. You gave him the best life full of adventures. He is with Bo and Hunter and they are watching over you.

Truly sorry for your loss of Bandit, he had a good life. He always put a smile on my face when he went 'muddin' or 'swampin' (digging at the mud/dirt 46:36 and 47:04 to list two). Lost Harley my chocolate lab earlier this year so there's more playmates to share in the doggie after life. Remember you can always get a new dog(s) but you'll never replace Beau or Bandit. Best wishes and focus on the memories and not the loss.

I hope gets to play with my dear Zoey. She was 18 when she passed away. She was a wiener dog mix. Her favorite thing in the whole world was peanut butter. So hopefully she can have a peanut butter filled cookie with Bo and Bandit!

I feel heartbroken for you guys. There are literally no words to discribe the pain and how lonely it gets. I a lost both my dogs Alma (soul) and Abby in the a three year spam. The last one being this last june , also to kidney disease. I will remember them both for the rest of my life and so will you . I hope from the bottom of my heart that you'll get past this with your other critters as well. Bandit couldn't ask for a better life I guess. Filled with love, adventure and ponds. Love you guys. Bo and Bandit gone but never forgotten.
Part of the reason I always get so excited to see Peppi is because a little over a year and a half ago I had to put Georgie, my beloved cat of 16 years to sleep. Almost exactly a year before that her sister Cutie Pie lost her battle with kidney disease.
Luckily my beloved German Shepard/Corgie Riley is doing well and thriving with my parents while I'm at Grad school across the country.
I lost a dog this July as well. I laid her to rest high on a mountain that overlooks the valley below. I miss her deeply and although she lived to a ripe old age, it still felt too soon.

Hello from eastern Canada. We have lost 3 dogs (Rolex, Benz and Chica) over the years and every time, its not getting easier but we still have 5 dogs and more on the way as we are starting to breed them. Gone but never forgotten. One love guys

Sadly , my friend who came to live with us whilst waiting to retire and move into her new home with her companion sad goodnight to her dog. Little Ollie went to sleep for the final time 8th of Oct. I've never been much of a dog lover because of severe allergies but I used to have a precious Grandpup, Casper, a little white schnauzer, who loved Gramma so much, how could I not be absolutely crazy about him?

So sorry for you with Bandit’s passing. As you said, you/we were somewhat prepared based on your videos, but you are never really ready when you know the time is here! Like you I’ve lost dogs (& a cat) over my lifetime. It never gets easier. I take comfort from and thoroughly enjoy the two Labs I currently have.

Whilst I know you have spoken of the freedom you might find without a dog (for longer ventures away from the cabin), don''t leave it too long before you get a friend who is more acclimatised to Alaksan weather ... you'll appreciate it with the wildness you are surrounded by, you will be shocked by how important it is to have a dog acclimatised. to your localty to protect you from the. coyotes and more. I had an absolutely psychotic pup that no one wanted at the shelter. He pretty much disliked everyone except me. He was loving and protective of me til his last breath. He had cancer and was 11 years old when I took him for a walk in the snow. He could barely walk and fell several times. I took him inside and dried him off while he looked at me with his soft eyes. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and left this plane of existence. I know how you must feel. I cried when he passed, not ashamed to say so. He's been gone 8 years but I still think of him often. Rest in Peace Bandit
Absolutely! Bandit was one of a kind. I thought at some point he would dig a hole and all you would be able to see was the top of his tail!!
My advice get a new set of pups ASAP because it helps take your mind off it and there’s nothing more fun and cute than a new puppy!

They leave such a big hole in your heart when they pass. My can Tessa was an American Bobtail that I found hiding in the back of her cage at the SPCA. There was a sign asking that we get a staff member if we wanted to get her out but I didn't see it and picked her up and she snuggled into my shoulder. That was it for both of us. She was so affectionate and I had her for almost 16 years until Kidney disease made it too hard for her to stay. I can really feel your pain and I hope in the future you find another friend not to replace Beau and Bandit but to give your hearts a new unconditional love

I lost my beautiful cat pepper, almost 2 years ago. She was just like your pepper but black and white. I had her from a tiny kitten, she had heart problems and died in my arms at the age of 12 on the way to the vet. I will never forget her. I feel so much for you both. Sending all my love

We had our Bandit that we had too put down many years ago when he was 18. We missed him deeply and decided to get another puppy KC. We had KC for 18 years as well and sadly we lost him last year. It was incredibly painful time for us. There was no greater companion, no better friend than KC. So sorry for your loss. "without love there is no grief"

Sorry to hear your sad news.Our brave little Suzy cat was 23 when she passed on. A gentle soul, we would have taken her to the vet that afternoon but we went out and on coming back she had moved into her favourite spot in the sunshine and passed away.Much love to you both.

He was a fox terrier/queensland healer mix who we adopted at a year old from the local animal shelter. I am so looking forward to next year's garden with your seed room and fabulous garden.

I then loss my husband 2 weeks later ! It has been 8 years and 6 years ago I got another dog. It is a Che weenie now part chihuahua and part dachshund ! He is precious to me ! But I so feel your pain, as I parasocially adopted your dogs when my beloved boy, whom my daughter brought home as an emaciated 8 week old pup on Christmas Eve, passed away suddenly (in my arms) 2 years ago. Of course, I cried when both of your dogs passed. They were a part of our family. You guys gave them their best lives. They've always looked so happy and content. I have 2 dogs. Both chihuahuas. Stevie (female) is going on 12. I've never had any problems with her. I got her at 5 weeks. She's really smart. Then Nick (her brother) I saved him from a neighbor when he was 2 months... He's going on 11. He was born blind. I try to give them both a good, safe life. I am blessed to have them.
