I am 64 years of age. As a classically trained musician well-steeped in my own creativity and for over 50 years (I was first published at 14 years of age) I have always believed that there was a "Fine Line" between Music as an expression of our greater humanity and a means of entertainment we merely engage in, simply to pass the time without much thought for how just a single song can become a sign of the times.
Up until his performance of "Falling" at the Brit Awards in London two years ago, I had never really paid all that much attention to Harry Styles. His was just a name I knew, that was all. The oversight was clearly mine. But I was left so enamoured by his performance of "Falling" I can at least now say that I have listened to all of Harry's solo-career songs and I am in complete awe of him.
If the effect of Harry's music upon the mind within the moment of transference can transform it as I believe it does, then the world is blessed to have such an Artist inhabit it; an Artist who is golden through and through. Harry Styles is such an Artist, that the memory of him in years to come will be something of Infinity itself recalled.
In fact, Music itself has found a fine home in "Harry's House." I am grateful for this gift of Light and Love Harry Styles has gifted to the world.
Amen to everything you’ve said... I’m 61 years and a music lover of various genres, but Harry Styles is absolutely one of my favorites artists ever. People who say there’s no good music these days, has just to open their ears and minds to Harry!!

Every song is soo special. I am listening for hours to get into the songs. Repeating, dancing, being sad. He is able to create so many feelings and thinking about with his songs. His music is not only music, you are always invited to see more and to get touched. That is what I like so much in this one and in every of his albums.
Just so you know "Love of my life", is about the UK. Leaving the country he loved deeply at such a young age for work. His song writing is deeper than people think, so well written. ♡♡♡
The first 4 songs, Matilda, and Satellite were definitely the stand outs on this album for me. Great video and reactions!

I found myself liking each song more & more, the more I listened to the entire album. I had a few favorites the first time I listened, but now I love & feel something with/for every song.

Great video. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts on Harry's House. :) Matilda...love that you referenced it as "lush". For me...it's one of the most beautiful songs..ever. it's heartbreaking, sad, gentle. Harry treats "Matilda" with kindness.
Harry's interview with Zane Lowe...he talks about writing this song for a specific person. The person doesn't know they have inspired a song. Harry says they will know the song is about them if they hear it. I haven't been able to listen to it without crying. It cuts deep.
I love the album. No skips for me.
I loved Daylight, Matilda, As it was, Satellite. I definitively felt it was a little less complex in lyrics and it felt like some of the some dragged on for me but it was quite enjoyable.

Love of my life I find quite clever. He wanted to write a song about England, his home, without using the usual clichés. We all keep a bit of our home inside us when we travel, wherever that is. I had visions of walking through the English countryside in the summer at the start, he also has been using English countryside images in the lead up promo. His listening party food was quintessential afternoon tea.
I don't think the album is all about the same person, much of is appears to be reminiscing of the past. Written during different stages of lockdown gives plenty of time for memories of experiences and missing current people who are stuck elsewhere.

I don’t think they broke up, they just have to spend a lot of time apart. (Different time zones hence cursing the daylight and late night talking) And it seems to be quite a long term relationship bc of all the nostalgic looking back on it that is happening..
Also fits well with daydream. They have to be apart for long periods of time.
(Notice the change in pronouns “she said..” vs “but baby loving you is the real thing” so some woman said that to him and he is like “you’re living in a daydream”)

You're exactly right about matilda, he said it was a friend, he listened to their story...then said he tried to remove the focus from the friend's specific story by pretending he was talking to Matilda from the book

my favourites so far are cinema, as it was, little freak and keep driving i think but I'll see how i feel when i spend more time with it!

Some of these songs were written before he met his gf, and some are written after. Thats why some are about past relationships and some are about his current one (eg cinema, his gf is a director/actress. She’s the cinema he’s the pop.)

"Keep Driving" gives me "Death By A Thousand Cuts" and I can't explain it.
You should watch Harry's interview with Zane Lowe (on you tube). 'Love of my Life' is about England. Your home is where you are not necessarily a place (coordinates). He wrote this album in 20 & 21 when the whole world was shut down due to Covid.

I personally believe that this album is meant to be listened backwards because he is upside down on the album cover and Alessandro Michele posted the album on Instagram and flipped the screenshot upside down, so I believe its kinda a rekindling of a relationship from love of my life to late night talking that they start talking again and catch up about everything they didn't talk about all the time that the other person was looking for love elsewhere. I don't know but that's what I believe!!
It's interesting watching reviewers, who clearly have not watched/read interviews with Harry talk about his songs, interpret the meaning of Harry's songs. Overall, I thought this reaction was sweet and pretty on point on what was good and what was not so good, even if the song meaning analysis was wrong.
Satellite is his best song so far, btw.

This also will help a lot of people like me. My mom has Borderline dysorder and almost made me kill myself after years of mental torture and brain washing, until my now husband, then boyfriend helped me get out ten years ago. This song means a lot when you lived with guilt for years.

I feel like they are some really great productions Moments like in the first songs and offcorfs as it was or satellite my problem with this album is the lyrics feel so basic and uninspired in most of the songs (not bad but overrall pretty basic) so im just sad becouse i was expecting more from Harry to be honest but i do love Matilda and i hope it grow on me

Harry said he was speaking to a friend through the story of Matilda. Many believe it does have a LGBTA intention because many members of the community have spoken how they feel connected to Matilda. Love it regardless.
I think Daydreaming may be him talking to someone about the her in the song. Not necessarily in a nice way. And saying I’m going to be having dealing with this person and be gone for so long. Give me something to think about while I’m away. So daydream is used 2 ways. She’s dreaming 🙄 and I’m dreaming about you when I have to be away.

Harry let his Stans know to listen to the album in the reverse order. Start with LOML, then go to Boyfriends etc... It tells a more accurate story that spans 12 yrs. ☺️😍
I, and others, believe this album is a love letter to his other half. The person he's been in a 12 yr relationship with.

I love Harry but imo he doesn't push himself hard enough with the lyricism. His well written songs hit hard but they're rarer; alot lean too heavily on his vocals and the production alone. But he's still growing as a musician, I think he'll get there.
Taylor is Kiwi and He is the family that never showed her love. It’s why it links back to kiwi. Leaving and growing up links to cardigan and right where you left me
Yawn. It has a few musical moments, scattered here and there but I think the Hype has blinded many. I won’t mind hearing this in the background , it’s not offensive but Nothing here made me obsessively hit repeat. ( Except the single those first 4 days )

Big fan of Harry’s music but this album really was just a let down. I really liked the old rock sound he was doing through his albums and that’s what really made him different from other artists but I feel like he didn’t put that much thought into his album like he did the others. Not sure if he’s just trying a new sound 🤷🏼♀️
