You’re spot on about this being a kind of mixed bag. Harry himself has said this was him “playing it safe” while really trying to find his creative voice. It’s why Fine Line is more complex...he found his creative voice. Can’t wait to see what his next album will be like because I’m sure his music will continue to be progressive and unique.
I really enjoy your reactions a lot. The next thing you should ABSOLUTELY DO is to check out some of his Live stuff. He is just brilliant and on a next level Live. Some of his songs are so much better Live than the studio versions. I also highly recommend checking out all his music videos because all of them are a masterpiece, amazingly beautiful music videos.
Kiwi is a nonsense song that apparently started as a joke between his friends (who he was doing this album with) but it ended up staying and becoming a favorite AND a tour favorite bc he goes OFF every time he performs it haha. It’s just vaguely very horny and absurd and that’s the point I guess? Idk it’s fun and nasty 😂

I love love love this first album, so authentic and vintage. I found Harry's singing in Harry's House had a little too much falsetto rather than raspy belting, i do miss that

Awesome you found some of the same influences in Harry’s first album. The Rolling Stones (in Kiwi). A bit of Fleetwood Mac, a bit of Genesis (with Peter Gabriel), Peter Gabriel in general, a lot of Pink Floyd (“on the turning away”, “wish you were here” just to mention the more known ones), The Beatles like in “eleonor rigby” and “black bird fly”, etc. If I keep going, I won’t stop.
You definitely need to listen to all of his music live. So much better than the albumns and both are excellent.☺️
