    I know a guy who retired with good pension. Move to the same area. He first rented for 3 months to learn to know the areas, the people. Hooked up with a broker. Got himself a new 3 bed, 2 bath, new construction flat, same as what you are showing. I saw pictures and could not believe. He met a much younger, sweet lady, working in a local bank. In love for 4 years now. This guy is so happy. He does so much with the dollar in that country, its remarkable. He told me that stress level is 10% from 0-100. he clearly said, I will finish my life in Bangkok.

    Very nice, Ying. I'm moving from Texas in the US to Thailand this year. I have not chosen a city yet, but I had taken Bangkok off of my list of options because I thought Bangkok is much more expensive than other cities like Hua Hin, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, etc.
    But $200-300 USD is VERY affordable! And an apartment like yours would be perfect for me.

      This video is 7 month old, and the "normal" price today for a 30-35 Sqm condo unit like this is 12-15 000 Bath in On Nut area. But if you choose to live in similar condo units in Bang Na and the nearest BTS stations at Ban Suk and Bearing, you can get the same for 7-13 000 Bath a month even today.

    • @quasimotto8653
      @quasimotto8653 Рік тому +3

      @@Oggiwara1 Thank you very much for sharing that info!
      If I could paint a quick picture of my situation, I'd really appreciate your input!
      I'm moving to Thailand after I sell my house in Texas (probably by June-July). Once all of my assets are liquidated, I'll have about $500,000. But I'm only 53. So I won't start receiving Soc Sec (about $1850/month) until 2032, plus another $800/month starting in 2035.
      I planned on putting most of my cash into an annuity or some other option that will pay me a percentage each year.
      One major consideration that you might have an opinion on is: should I rent or should I buy an apartment/condo/house?
      My concern about renting is that with inflation (as you pointed out), the great price I get today may not be so great in 5, 10, 15 years.
      Thanks for your time!

    • @Oggiwara1
      @Oggiwara1 Рік тому +9

      @@quasimotto8653 The best thing is to rent before you know for sure where to live. And renting is very cheap vs. to buy. Because the main reason for the "inflation" today, is the amount of russians running away from the war in Ukraina. When the war is over, most of them will go back home and leave a gap in the marked and rent price will go down to normal. If you want to move quickly from a condo you bought because of bad neighbors, you can easily loose 3-500 000 Bath or more if you have to sell equally fast. If you rent, you only loose the deposit if you break the contract. Then we are talking 20-30 000 Bath depending on the rent.

      Common fee in this kind of Condo is normally around 30-35 Thai Bath pr. Sqm. But some landlords will include the fee in the rent and some will let the tenant pay it directly to the condo management.

      You can rent apartments further out of Bangkok for around 50 US dollars PER MONTH. If you cannot speak Thai my advice is to hire a Thai student for a few hours who understands the English language. They can then negotiate for you as many of the low cost condo complexes are operated by non - English speakers. You would think 50 dollars will only get you a dump but you will be surprised. A bed, a shower, a toilet, a balcony and a fan all for 50 bucks. I pay more than that for my monthly electric bill here in the UK. If you enjoy living where the friendly locals live, eating where the locals live and don't mind an apartment on a 4th or 5th floor (no lifts) then what are you waiting for.

    Such a great and informative, clear video! I've been watching Bangkok condo videos lately because I am considering moving there in the future, possibly. I have visited many times. I noticed that all the condos seem to have almost the exact same layout and amount of space (around 30 square meters). Can you do a video showing condos that are 50-65 square meters or that have unique layouts? I'm hoping there is some variety, and I really like a bit more of a spacious living space. Especially if some might have a larger kitchen, that would be interesting to see. Thanks again for the wonderful video!

      Thank you for your reply and consideration to make a video that tells more about the extra fees or required deposits when looking for a place to rent. I honestly don’t know where to look to find this information. I think to save time, if you know any real estate agents…..you can see if any of them will want to be interviewed or do a live stream and take questions while filming live. i live in the United States and know the time difference between Thailand and where I live…..but I would stay awake late or get up super early to participate and watch a livestream such as this. I have been to Thailand 4 times and each time I say I want to stay as long as possible (3-5 months)….but the cost of hotels or AirBnB’s get very expensive. So for me, finding a place to rent would be the perfect situation for me to seriously try and live in Thailand……and hopefully find someone for a serious relationship as well! Thank you again for your reply. 🙏🏼

    I am a little bit confused. I plan to go in Thailand for one month and I don't know what to rent.
    What is the difference between Condo, apartment, hotels, rooms?
    Condo is apartment without reception like hotel has, right? And also no woman who cleaning that apartment?

    • @yinginthailand
      @yinginthailand  2 роки тому +1

      I think the primary difference between an apartment and a condominium is that apartment buildings are leased residencies, while condominiums give full ownership of the unit to individuals. Both don't have full service of reception like hotel but there is someone you can contact or called as "Residential Juristic Person"
      For some full service apartments provide a cleaning service like a hotel. :) Hope I answered your question.

      I agree. Bangkok is fun to visit, but too congested to live in. Chiang Mai is absolutely beautiful, but the burning season makes it unlivable for about 3 to 4 months a year. Hua Hin is pretty cool, but really not much happening. Pattaya is like the wild west. Again, fun to visit. Jomtien is more relaxed and you can get great value for the money. But I do wonder if someday Jomtien will end up like Pattaya.
