@@visionist7 I don't really care what mainstream actors and actresses think or what their personal thoughts are, I only care if they do their jobs on screen preferably. I also do not care that much for project Bluebird mind-controlled celebrities.
I think one of the things that people forget about Jill in RE3 she was placed on Leave/Suspended and ordered to stay home because She was caught trying to investigate Umbrella and Chief Irons wasn't having any of it because his secret would have been discovered had she kept digging around during her investigation of Umbrella, even though that Reporter from RE2 did manage to dig up the dirt on Irons in the long run and hand it over to Leon. I would imagine that because she was suspended Chief Irons had her turn in her issued S.T.A.R.S. uniform and her RPD issued I.D. which is why you find it in the briefing room in the RPD and not on her persons like how you find Brads issued I.D. in the RPD front gate/entrance after Nemesis kills him and you pick his I.D. up off his body. I bet if Raccoon City hadn't fallen the way it did, Irons and Umbrella would have found a way to Silence Jill and the other S.T.A.R.S. members.
I love that Alyson is wearing the alternate Claire outfit. And I have been sooo excited in seeing you guys interview Catherine for so long! Great job ROE squad! Now I sit in wait to hear a Sally Cahill interview 😁😁
I cannot explain the love I have for Alyson. As a little girl, seeing her portray one of the most badass and brave yet caring and loving women was just so inspiring to me. I fell in love with her and Claire in a way that’s just stayed with me for so many years. Thank you guys so much for this 😭💖🙏
Somebody on Twitter directed Hideki Kamiya to the part where Court talks about him @1:42:48 and he responded with, "Oh, how nostalgic... When Allison came to visit Osaka, we went for drinks together at Kinchaku, a popular izakaya frequented by Capcom staff, and she looked so cute sitting there among the dingy tatami mats…" 😆😁💕
These women are legends not only in the RE community but also in the acting world. Their work really helped Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield to be two of the most beloved and iconic characters in videogame history.
I've been playing RE 3 every year on Sept. 28... It got me introduced to RE after my father died in 1999...To see this episode made me happy so much I cried...thank you guys.
Wow, It's so rare to see Catherine Disher making interviews. Her voice just doesn't get out of my head since I first played RE3. It's iconic, it's perfect. It's my favorite game of all time alongside RE2, and it's kinda unbelievable seeing the 2 of them side by side talking about good old times. Thanks for this Residence of Evil! Quick note: Catherine Jill's was the definitive one. Remake's was kinda bad, they made Jill downgrade to a high school girl voice in that
they need to bring back Alyson, she sound like Claire even after so many years. Its like the VA didnt even try to make any voice she just use her natural voice and its amazing. Honeslty Capcom should bring her back for Code Veronica Remake.
Did you know that both Vincent Corazza and Catherine Disher both went on to be on a famous magical girl series that fought evil by moonlight, won love by daylight. That's right you guessed it, it's Sailor Moon and Carlos (Vincent Corazza) was Tuxedo Mask and Katherine Disher played Mimete and Princess Snow Kaguya in the movie.
This chanel is a gem for all oldschool RE fans. What you guys have achieved is awesome! Seeing our heroes from the past is thrilling. When i first saw the "Chris" interview i wouldn't expect that you guys could gift us with so much joy. Alyson don't even needs to act, she sounds exactly like Claire even though so many years has passed. The ponytail is a nice touch, like Chris, Barry, Wesker and Rebecca wearing their colors during the interviews. And of course we can't ignore Catherine. I'll never forget the famous "September 28, day light..." Ah...the memories... Keep up the amazing work. This a historic moment.
The originals can never be truly replaced. Total respect for Catherine Disher and Alyson Court for being legends in voice acting of video games plus children shows and some live action shows as well. I firstly know them from the X-Men series and then Resident Evil. Thank you ROE for making this excellent interview for us fans to enjoy and know the people behind the scenes better than before. (^_^)d
True. All we need is proper remasters that either make the prendered backgrounds into 3D with CGI level characters of the original or just upscale like this gameplay footage in this video
I was so mad when I found out Capcom had dropped Alyson as Claire for Resident Evil: Revelations 2. I still am. Alyson WAS Claire. She had voiced the character in every project up to that point, and I couldn’t believe Capcom dropped her because she was in a Union. Despicable. They did the same thing with Matt Mercer, but that one is less offensive since Leon Kennedy had already had a few different voice actors play him by that point. Still disgusting though. Clearly, it still bugs me…
The worst is RE2R Claire. Disrespect to the Real Claire. She was a potty mouth, very sympathetic and fake, and she was embarrassingly weak that she allowed Chief Iron to beat her and tied her and all she said was oh my brother is a cop, I’ll tell my bro😒 but honestly the remake did a major disservice to ALL the characters.
love catherine disher. RE3 was my first game with jill, and her performance will always be special to me. her dialogue in cutscenes is great, and the way she manages to convey jill's fear, anger, and determination in just the sounds jill makes when you take damage... that's a talented and confident voice actress.
Beautiful. Warms my heart to see so many Resident Evil fans everywhere. I've been a big fan since RE 1 on the PS1. It's easily my favorite franchise ever.
Resident Evil Nemesis 1999 was way better than the remake. Catherine Disher's performance really helped it. I also loved Alyson Court's performance as Claire. Resident Evil 2 is still my favorite, both original and remake.
That game is iconic and she was born to play Jill hands down! Catherine's voice for Jill made the game more dramatic and serious. She represents what Jill really is; mature, elegant, serious. Not bratty and bitchy. Witty even and still has a good sense of humor, but still collected.
thank you RoE team for this amazing video, seeing them again is heartwarming as Resident Evil is one if not my favorite franchise. I do hope to meet them in a convention someday and listen to their stories. greetings from Montreal!
You guys did so much for both the fans of the franchise and the actors themselves, it's actually amazing. So much dedication and love was pushed into making this real, and to honour the original actors and that's honestly remarkable - Capcom simply doesn't do this stuff like this, at all! And what's shocking to me is that you just keep on releasing these banger-videos one after another and so on. HOW DO YOU DO THIS??? Anyway, thank you so much for your work folks. It was so nice to listen to both Catherine and Alyson, their stories and dive a bit deeper into the behind-the-scenes of some of the TV shows and games. Man, who would have thought that Claire did drinks with Kamiya, kek
Thank you ROE for interviewing these two legends from my childhood, feels great to hear their amazing stories, even loved that you brought up the late Paul Haddad ❤, imagine if he were still alive he would've showed up for this interview. Can't wait to see more legendary interviews soon, keep em coming ROE 👍🏼🙌👏
I met Catherine Disher back in June and she recommended this video to me, I’ve been looking for it ever since. Alyson Court was there too but her and I didn’t talk much. Catherine told me that her and Alyson swore a lot while they were playing and she even joked that they’d probably have to censor a large portion of the video because of it.
It's incredible how Catherine didn't basically know anything about the look that Jill would have had in RE3, and even now that people criticise the sexualisation of her outfit in the game, and yet she managed to nail the personality of the character and to give her so much depth
@@derekb4977 true, and that also ties with Jill's looks and personality before the remake (that the more extremist woke people can't really understand): she looked good, she had sex appeal and also had some very skimpy, unpractical outfits throughout the series...but that didn't interfere with her personality, she was always the focused, determined, calm, collected, sometimes vulnerable and sometimes motherly cop/soldier. A complete woman basically, with her femininity, her strengths, her weaknesses
Was gonna say I heard literally nobody complain about the outfit back then. At worst the practicality of it was questioned given Jill's circumstances but that's really it. It ended up becoming an iconic outfit@@derekb4977
After all these years I cannot hear anyone but Alyson Court as Claire Redfield. Catherine Disher is awesome as Jill Valentine as well! Thank you for the interview! I was relieved knowing both of them are doing great
Thank you ROE for these great videos. Thank you Catherine Disher and Alyson Court for taking the time to be part of this. I, like many others grew up with you voicing characters from my childhood both in Resident Evil and X-Men. I just want to say your portrayals of Jill, Jean Grey (Catherine) and Claire, Jubilee (Alyson) were role model characters. They never cursed, they were relatable, kind hearted characters and powerful performances. No one could ever replace the foundations you both laid with your voice work. Voice roles may come and go, but the memories you helped create for a generation can never be taken away. 😁
Actually the female playable character of Emily Hartwood in Alone in the Dark (1992) came way before Jill Valentine. Anyway, I love how Catherine Disher is so well informed about the RE franchise.
I agree with you and i keep finding articles where people keep saying its Jill and the only official source I can find for that is Guinness WR and in drives me crazy. Heck depending on how loose you are with the term "survival horror" you could co back to Sweet Home which had i think had 3 playable female charcters.
@@skerfrigma7678 Sure, but also if you’re not loose at all, Alone in the Dark was without any doubt a survival horror… In fact, the 2 characters thing was copied and ported to Resident Evil among many other things… Resident Evil has its merits and it’s a masterpiece, unlike Alone in the Dark, but pretty much everything in that game had already been done, just not yet at that quality level.
Lore-wise: Some RE fans forget, that the events of the Arklay Incident AND RE2-3 were only 3 MONTHS apart. The STARS Operation was July 1998 and the events in RE2-3 are September 1998. The reason why Jill was in Civi attire was because the “remaining” STARS team and program was suspended and the whole team was dismantled later by Irons following the report on both team Captains, Albert Wesker and Enrico Marini, the former was exposed as an Umbrella scientist, were deseased. Chris decided to go off on his own to Europe and confront the UMBRELLA Pharmaceutical Company HQ head-on, Barry got “scared” of Umbrella and protected his family by relocating to Canada, Rebecca moving out of Raccoon City to pursue vaccine for T-virus, Brad got “demoted” to being a regular RPD cop again (in the 2 Remake games, he became a STARS recruiter poster boy lol) There’s unused art from Classic RE3 where the remaining STARS members were arguing with Chief Irons, who looks “annoyed” as Chris points a finger to him. It is implied that Irons FIRED all of them, except for Brad coz he was oblivious to the “horrors” they faced in that mansion hence he was still uniform in RE3, the only remaining “active” STARS member. So Jill in her tubetops and miniskirt was basically her casual wear since this was her way of TRYING to deal with her PTSD from that event. She TRIED to insert herself into Raccoon City society once again, and it is also implied she was “probably” (grain of salt) either was on another job interview OR a dinner date with either friends or a date with some guy (as hinted Leon and/or Claire investigating the picture at her STARS table in RE2) UNNAWARE that the T and G-virus mutations from the secret underground lab has leaked slowly around August, and eventually September of that same year with sewer rats being the carriers. Sorry if my comment is long 😅
These two are the reason I began researching the voice actors behind these games. Legendary. I envy you both for being able to sit down with these two talented women. I hope to meet both some day.
I'm so happy to see Catherine Disher & Alyson getting the recognition that they deserve especially Catherine .. its just you wish Capcom put their greed aside and gave these talents an homage and respect and add them in modern roles, Capcom needs to stop this unneeded war against union voice actors and do something right for once .. nobody does Jill like Catherine does ... SHE IS Jill Valentine
I met Alyson court at comic con this year and I was completely starstruck!! She is such a humble person and even took her time to talk with me about the games and her career! Resident evil has been my favorite series since I was a kid and it was an absolute honor to be able to have been able to meet and converse with her. Also got her autograph. So great to see Alyson and Catherine together. Hearing Alyson back when RE2 came out she was new to me at the time. A truly excellent Claire. And then knowing Catherine Disher from a show Called Forever knight and then hearing her as Jill was awesome growing up.
Omg, I didn't not know Catherine Disher was the voice of Jill.... That's crazy cause I seen her on a show called the good witch. And I was like mmmmm she looks so familiar. its really that that she was the og voice of jill love it.
I can't express how grateful I am for the work you do! Bringing back the original cast together and now having the voice actors from the RE2 and RE3 present. It is incredible what you do for the fans and from what I have seen, the actors love the experience of being embraced by the fanbase! It is amazing to see Alyson Court again, but it is incredible that you brought Catherine Disher for an interview! I have never seen Jill's voice actor. Now I just imagine a short film with the original cast. A barbecue at Barry's house. Original actors of Barry, Chris, Claire back together, Jill's voice calling out off screen etc.
Alyson “Claire” Court - Capcom just doesn’t realize what they’re missing out on not giving Claire so much more shine in the series, and inviting Alyson to continue as her!
Alyson Court is a legend. She's more than just the voice actress of Claire Redfield. She did so many projects, so many cartoons, The Big Comfy Couch to directing Resident Evil Outbreak. Had no idea how much projects she worked on. Very talented woman. Also miss hearing her voice in RE games, wished she could reprise her role as Claire Redfield.
I have nothing but respect for the love you show these voice actors and actresses. At the same time inviting them to let them know how important they are and the LEGENDARY legacy they have created and how much the community appreciates them. Their contribution to entertainment and our lives in general is greater than we will be ever able to fathom.

An important lesson: If you truly love and appreciate people like this and you ever meet them, deprive yourself of the moment you wanted and instead of asking a question they've heard 100 times, ask them about something THEY might want to talk about. It will make their day and they will love you for it
I met Anne Hathaway and all I could say was how I didn't sleep on the flight over (this was at the airport). Afterwards I thought of a dozen interesting things I could have asked her about but she had already left lol
@@visionist7 Lucky! Watched The Devil Wears Prada for the first time the other day. She was great in it.
@@darthkahn45 she was very down to earth, even saved me a seat before she left when I went to grab my suitcase from the other side of the hall. And she looked very good, casual, hardly any makeup, no heels or anything, but still looked very good. She's about 170cm-ish, 5'7
@@darthkahn45 Watch Love and Other Drugs if you haven't. She's amazing in that. My fav with her

Alyson even has her hair in the style Claire has her's in ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They both did a great job voice acting two of my favorite voice actors for the Resident evil games and X-Men. 😎👍
I didn't know Cathreine Disher was Jill's voice! I know her best from "forever knight" tv show. she has been in iconic zombie and vampire franchisees.
She's also jean grey in x men tas
@@thestranger9608And she's also Psylocke from the VS games.
This is wonderful😭 alyson court's voice stays the same, and i'm a big fan of Disher's Jill in RE3
I cannot explain the love I have for Alyson. As a little girl, seeing her portray one of the most badass and brave yet caring and loving women was just so inspiring to me. I fell in love with her and Claire in a way that’s just stayed with me for so many years. Thank you guys so much for this 😭💖🙏
Met Alyson court yesterday at FanX. She’s amazing!
i met Alyson as well at a convention in Vegas about two months ago, she was very sweet!
Remake's was kinda bad, they made Jill downgrade to a high school girl voice in that
You guys are pulling all the stops here. Thank you so much. RE3 Jill will forever be an icon for me.
Did the Jill from re1 also do the voice lines in game
they need to bring back Alyson, she sound like Claire even after so many years.
God, Alyson's voice is still perfect. She sounds just like Claire, still. I want her back to voice SO bad. 😫😭
If i’m creating a perfect woman i’d choose her voice.
rip Paul Haddad.... the best Leon Kennedy
Agree.
“Get down!” Most recognizable quote from him. I missed him.
@@carltasticdrew9633 same 💔 they even added that line in the remake 😭
Death doesnt equal the best.....
Paul Mercier still the best Leon . .
I had him on my facebook he was nothing but a sweet gentle guy
Catherine is the best voice for Jill. Same with Alyson for Claire. RE3 nemisis jill is the best design for her.
Amazing to see those two OGs Back Again! The Best Jill/Voice & Claire/Voice Ever!!!
Now We Need Julia Voth Next!
I didn't recognize jills voice but Claire omg its her 🧡
love catherine disher.
Been playing since ps1 too, played every title on every machine. Not my fave franchise though, that'd be Tomb Raider, RE is a very close second.
I could listen to Alyson Court read a phone book
BRO ARE THESE THE BIGGEST PODCAST GUESTS EVER? HOLY SHT 🔥
Resident Evil Nemesis 1999 was way better than the remake. Catherine Disher's performance really helped it. I also loved Alyson Court's performance as Claire. Resident Evil 2 is still my favorite, both original and remake.
I didn't like remake claire and her personality was way off, Alyson is the only claire redfeild.
@@derekb4977I hear that.
RE3 Remake is a travesty.
That game is iconic and she was born to play Jill hands down! Catherine's voice for Jill made the game more dramatic and serious. She represents what Jill really is; mature, elegant, serious. Not bratty and bitchy. Witty even and still has a good sense of humor, but still collected.
Re 2 original better than awful re2 remake☝
thank you RoE team for this amazing video, seeing them again is heartwarming as Resident Evil is one if not my favorite franchise.
I absolutely love you all giving the original casts love and showing them that they’re still appreciated today
NO WAY!!! You got Catherine Disher AND Alyson Court on here? Wow I'm impressed! Go ROE!
It's incredible how Catherine didn't basically know anything about the look that Jill would have had in RE3, and even now that people criticise the sexualisation of her outfit in the game, and yet she managed to nail the personality of the character and to give her so much depth
Only woke people criticise the outfit real fans don't.
😂 only woke people criticise the outfit real fans don't.
@@ocdman3910 RE3 Jill was pure 90's action girl style.
I was relieved knowing both of them are doing great
Catherine is also Jill and Psylocke in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Awesome.
@@skerfrigma7678 Sure, but also if you’re not loose at all, Alone in the Dark was without any doubt a survival horror…
In fact, the 2 characters thing was copied and ported to Resident Evil among many other things…
Resident Evil has its merits and it’s a masterpiece, unlike Alone in the Dark, but pretty much everything in that game had already been done, just not yet at that quality level.
What about the girls in the "Jason" and "Freddy Kruger" games?
Clock Tower also precedes it. But I think Jill genuinely is the first to actually be capable of combat? Maybe?
Residence of Evil deserves a big applause by the fandom! The work you guys have been doing is astounding! Big thanks for sharing all this stuff!
Sorry if my comment is long 😅
Thanks!
Thank you!
This is what I’m waiting for, I know you guys will upload it on 28th September!! Thank you guys!!
I can't believe you guys actually did this! First, the og cast, and now the og voice actors. THIS IS INCREDIBLE!
