  • This is where I'm at with my 2wd drift attempt. Still not really there but getting better. More tinkering and I should hopefully get this thing around some stuff on command. If you install a 3500kv motor it would be a better choice for sure. Hope you Rc Enthusiasts enjoy this one!

    That´s a really good tip about freeing the trapped torsion bars, and it´s great to know that there´s so much adjustment available.

      yeah surprisingly adjustable up front. The back needs a refresh to maybe something more adjustable but it works for this drifter/work truck I guess.

    e-mail with WPL's sales rep I recommended swapping from a 260 motor up to a 280,
    should be just enough power+torque on tap if the rear tires are slippery. they measure 24 x 31 mm, 33 if you count the end cap center bushing. if the brush timing is advanced a little they'll spin up pretty nice. I hope next versions are more drift ready, nice chassis.

      hopefully they set it up better for drifting if they are going to have a drift version for sale. metal gear servo better motor and tire setup.

    I’d like to see how you installed that motor. I was thinking about doing a two speed so I could drift in high and use it as a truck in low .

    • @RainytheNB

      iirc the crawler transmissions don’t fit without modifications.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  4 роки тому +5

      like the other comment said, the 2 speed won't fit directly. but a 3500kv or lower kv brushless may work for your needs. Slow enough to be a scaler and fast enough to drift. There are several mounting holes for motor upgrades. One note is the motor shaft on stock motor is short. I used the stock pinion from the brushed motor and had to mount the motor to one side to avoid hitting another gear in the gearbox with the longer brushless motor shaft.

    Hey, can someone explain to a noob what exactly a gyro does???

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 роки тому

      a gyro for me atleast started with Rc helicopters. It is used to stabilize the tail of the helicopter by counteracting rotational forces to keep the heli flying in a straight stable hover. When it is implemented in a rc car or truck it is now being used as stability control. In a Rc car or truck it is connected between the receiver and servo. This steers for you when it notices your about to spin out or loose control. So when your learning how to drift or just trying to keep going in a straight line a gyro will react faster than you can to keep your rc stable and makes it easier to drive. As you progress you can dial down the gyro until you don't need it anymore. when you have learned to control your Rc without a gyro then you can turn it off like the pros!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 роки тому

      yes full proportional. For the d90 i just use stock servo and replace with stock servo as well. you can seach for wpl or mn metal gear servo for more reliability if your stripping gears

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  3 роки тому +1

      I know they have a port to switch which car your controlling at the moment. I believe if you turn on one truck then bind transmitter and then turn on the next truck after your done with the first bind then they should both work. Hopefully that works. Sorry I only own 1 V3 transmitter so I can't test it for you.
