I enjoyed your reaction...it is a deep song but also one of hope for our future....... Stan Walker is a phenomenal talent and such a real human as well.💖💖💖
Glad you have found our Stan he is a very talented young man with a back story that will blow your mind he is dedicated to the preservation of of his own language which is one of our official languages here in New Zealand. He co wrote this song and he and a cousin filmed the video the scenes other than those that show the leading lady in the Film Origin were shot in and around his Iwi’s and his wife’s Iwi’s lands. Iwi (tribe)
Stan is amazing. This song makes me want to save everything from the smallest insect to the blanket of our atmosphere. Diversity is the wealth we should all treasure. One world. Imagine, speak out, forgive, act. 🌍🌎🌏💚💙💖
Tena koe Hexx (Hello) 🥰 Ava Duvernay seen Stan Walkers cover 'Ultralight Beam' and she wanted him to be on the soundtrack for her movie 'Origin'. She sent Stan the movie and after watching it he created this beautiful masterpiece as his reaction to the movie. It was very important for Stan to integrate aspects of our Māori culture into the song, and she loved it. 'I Am' is a declaration, not just who I am, but a declaration for anybody who has ever felt like they don’t know who they are. Everyone has a different story, and some people are ashamed because their cultures have been attached to negative things. The negative outcomes are the result of intergenerational trauma caused by the suppression of our cultural identity and expression, but that is not who we are." Stan Walker. Much Love ❤
