Stan’s music is fantastic. What you are seeing is the Maori culture, the land u see is New Zealand. Stan co wrote this song and him and a friend video it around New Zealand. Every movement u are see, clothing, tattoos have a meaning in the Maori culture. As a New Zealand ( white I am), I’m so proud of the Maori culture which is a huge part of New Zealand.
Stan is one of our treasures he is devoted to the preservation of the Maori language called Te Reo it is one of our official languages, here in New Zealand.
Stan has been through a lot....he is an open book...❤ read more on his journey...it will give you an appreciation of what he has been through...he loves God, his family and his culture...and we love him..
So happy to see your reaction to Stan Walker. You can’t go wrong with pretty much any of his music but I think you would love Ultralight Beam and his version of Amazing Grace. Enjoy. ❤🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Thank you so much. We have already reacted to Amazing Grace. It was wonderful. Here is a link to our video: ua-cam.com/video/i2tVIb5jY1M/v-deo.html - We have added your other suggestion to our list.
You know what.. I've watched pretty much ALL of the reaction videos to Stan Walkers I Am video. And i really apreciate your guys reaction. This is a very powerful song and Stan Walker is a very powerful singer from Aotearoa, New Zealand.

This song isn’t about what it means to me, it’s about what it means to you. It speaks of you knowing and respecting your origin, and to be proud of your family history, those of your family who have travelled before you, and knowing your ancestors. It speaks of you knowing your culture, your pride of your origin, for the foundation of your future, is in the knowing, and in your pride of your ancestors…. Know your Origin!!.. Awesome reaction..👍🏼😂❤️
Kia ora, thank you for your reaction . Us Māori are so proud of Stan . Loved this video 👏 stumbled across this video and subbed to watch more . Nga mihi (thank you)
Its grand to meet you folks for the first time. It's nice to see you enjoyed Stans waiata 'I am'. He is a great singer and a real special person...🙏☝️🙂
We are so proud to be Maori. Yes we are indigenous to Aotearoa New Zealand, but we are also the youngest generation of the Indigenous people of the world. Kia Ora

READ Isabel Wilkerson's Book, "CASTE: THE ORIGINS OF OUR DISCONTENTS; then SEE Ava DuVernay's film, "ORIGIN" and you will Immediately understand why Ava had Stan Walker come in and create this masterpiece. It all ties it together...Stan absolutely DELIVERED!!! this song is incredible.
It is a bit of theater...but Stan does justice to our language...Maori are the indigenous to NZ...Stan is a major talent...he can also sing a great ballad....enjoy
Thank you for watching with us and for commenting. Sorry our true reaction was not what you were hoping for. Stan Walker is an amazing singer, and other viewers have shared so much information in their comments, which gives more meaning to this video that we were not picking up on in our first viewing.
This couple were correct when they said Stan is "Australian born"; BUT - he is a New Zealander through and through. He identifies as Aotearoa/New Zealand Maori because his whakapapa (genealogy) originates from there. Does being born in Australia make him an Australian? Theoretically 'yes' - but it is clear, the fuller portion of his heart goes back to where his whanau (family) roots began - in Aotearoa/NZ. Irrespective of where he was born, He is and will forever be MAORI.
its not the movie that will make you get it. Its culture that makes you get it. You 2 just lack culture so i am not sure you'll ever understand. Not being mean just honest.
You are correct that we lack the knowledge of the culture that is depicted in this incredible video. Many of our viewers have been so kind to come into the comments and share some great information with us. We are so thankful for them.

Unfortunately the song has little to do with the actual movie...pity ...great song...stans da man.
Song is about reclamation of your roots/your 'origin'. Not forgetting where you came from. So, it actually fits this movie perfectly
