Stan Walker carries the wairua (spirit) of our people, he is the mouth piece of our tīpuna (ancestors) and demonstrates the mana (prestige) of our culture (Māori). All his songs are hits BTW 😂
It speaks to your soul because deep down you feel your ancestors and your culture. Every native and indigenous feels these lyrics to our core because our soul never forgets. ✊🏼🌺
Kia ora from Aotearoa (New Zealand). Wow you are hands down the best reaction I've seen for Stan the man. Seriously, & I loved your reaction with Ultralight beam ❤ I hope my message finds you & your family well, much love 💌🩵💙💚
This song when you listen to it alone no disturbing, you can feel it weaving to the very core of you heart. He sings this cinematic lyric in his native tongue still; can't have enough n his voice is so crazy what a talent.
Stan is truly one of the greatest singers in the world, and is nowhere near as well known as he should be. This song was eligible for the Oscars this year, but didn't even get nominated.
Thank you for connecting with our culture and our very own Stan Walker. You are now going down the rabbit hole with the rest of us👏👏welcome. Please react to Te reō Māori ki te aō it will really hit you hard.
No, the song wasn't released until after nominations had closed for this year's Oscars. I definitely reckon it will be nominated later this year for next year's awards.
It’s beautiful isn’t it,& deeply impacting to the soul, that’s what this song does to you. You don’t even need to understand the maouri language, which is what Stan Walker’s culture is,which is what this is,because it transcends language in some kind of primal way,& moves you in a way that no words can explain. Thankyou for doing my reaction,& for the appreciation you’ve given to his talent.
Stan’s music and what he stands for in New Zealand is very respected. You must also listen to his latest release…..it’s different but fantastic, it gives you a look at the Maori culture in New Zealand.
Translation: He toi ora ahau nou - I am your vitality Te toi no Kurawaka - The source from Kurawaka ( the waters where life began ) Taku rongomaiwhiti e - My unique sacredness Takiri ko te haeata - The dawn breaks Anga atu ki te Ra - Face the light of the new day Whiti whiti ki te ora e - Shine, cross over to life Hou mai ra - Resounding To rongo e - Are your deeds Tau mai ra - Received To karere - Is your message Mau tonu e - It remains Tuturu whakamaua kia tina - Bind together, fix and affirm Haumi e - It is affirmed Hui e - Bound together Taiki e - In unity
Agree..Stan in this waiata is ministering to our Soul to connect to our Spirit Man. Makes this waitata exceptionally healing to the listener. God is all up in the expression a d it's delivery. Very much derived from his Christian upbringing and relationship with God. 🔥 🔥 🔥 IYKYK❤
When I hear Stan sing I feel love so deep, we are one, and need to come together no matter there colour, race ,as we are all connected, all life matters Stan you speak to my heart ❤️🌎 even though I have never meet you Stan I love you ,my soul greets your souls in love thank you for the light that you shine 👋❤️⭐️🌟🌍
Yo ...hey i just subbed. I like your reactions. I saw Origin a couple weeks ago in Auckland NZ.... absolutely loved it. Stans "I am" song blasting at the end was supreme! I am Stan fan forever. Since he won Australian Idol 2009 and all that journey I was hooked from his auditon of John Legends Ordinary people as an 18 year. I hope he wins an Oscar for this song. ❤ Peace and Joy to you ❤️ much love from NZ 🎉
This song isn’t to push you to watch the movie, though it would be good. The movie is called Origin… and the song is speaking directly to you, and telling you to seek your origin. It speaks to find, learn and respect your heritage, and in doing so, it strengthens your foundation in todays world. Seek your ancestors and respect them, seek your culture and learn of it and respect it, and by knowing your heritage and learning it, you will have pride for your history, pride for your family, and pride for you as a man in todays world.. Seek The Heights brother!!!..and keep up the great reactions👍🏼🙏🏽
😂 they weren’t on holiday…. many of his family members, Aunts, uncles , cousins etc moved to Australia for better job opportunities like many Māori families do they pretty much live close or together….. totally immersed in their own culture He was born in Australia and at the age of about 2 weeks old his family moved back to NZ where he spent most of his young childhood growing up on the marae , his family moved back and forth between both countries. He considers him self Māori first and foremost.
Sadly, the song is to under rated for this movie. the song is so so much bigger thn this movie it hurts tht it might be lost as it was a few month before awards. nw its just a beautiful piece of magicical culture the world needs to see.! .i mean omg, can you imangine a orchrstra, live band, kapa haka and Stan whoooa wht a moment!
You have a phenomenal American indigenous and African heritage why are you not proud. The difference is their is a pride in New Zealand of the indigenous heritage from the people but most importantly from the government it is quite unique it flows through the schools to the national rugby team and all the multi cultural people of New Zealand.they have somehow embraced the Maori spirit if only America and Australia that we Europeans conquered were allowed that expression we all have our own haka. We all have our own Stan walker we all have reggae and every other musical expression viva la revolution and forgive us Europeans if you can.
Brotha tbh Americans in general dont see much outside of American believing they r the best at everything but hei aha bro u found him congrads 2 u a d welcome 2 our culture via our proud maori rangatira
