    to be accurate, the scanner is not entirely stand-alone, as you must use it in connection with a PC or Mac to finish scans and export files

    I am interested in purchasing one of these; for making 3D models out of almost everything I want a 3D model from. Except the spray paint, where I live I won't have room for that so I'll have to do more clean up but the all in one unit is a real seller for me as it's like a digital camera.

    • @Sailing360
      @Sailing360 8 днів тому

      you don't need the spray - you can buy brushes with powder instead and brush it on, you fill the handle of the brush, it do a similar finish and wipes off with a dry cloth.
      one upside of that, is that it don't damage paint surfaces, the spray can be a bit aggressive to pain and sensitive surfaces.

    Can You test scanning large diameter pipe, or some smooth black surface ..

    • @randymay
      @randymay  9 місяців тому

      I can be used outside but not in bright light due to the high amount of ir light.
      Smooth black surfaces work for the most part but you have to be using it in dark mode and it can be too big because it will lose tracking

      It is going to depend on the size of the figures also with the colors. If you're looking for the best scans you can get then using a 3d scanning spray would be best.

    • @eutytoalba
      @eutytoalba 8 місяців тому

      I've been able to scan the fine artwork on special-edition US quarters with my Mini, but there's room for improvement with those, so I'd personally love to see how the Miraco scans compare.
      I did learn a neat trick, though: if I use white plastecine brushed with dry cornstarch to make an impression of things like coins, the Mini actually gets an even better scan of the impression than it normally can of the small object itself. Probably because the original pieces, such as heirloom jewelry, tended to be shiny, and the finest sprays that I could find still added too much volume to the topography otherwise.
