Not sure if it’s been said yet, but you don’t need to cut any wires. Just remove the female portion from the circuit board and shove the new cable onto the two pins. I’ve been running it this way for 1k plus hours with zero issues.

i used these updates on om n3 max. now its stuck on a firmware update even if i get past tat the touchscreen is frozen. :(

Try printing Elegoo PLA Black (I bought 10-pack at $100CAD). It is brutal I can't get it to work. I have restarted from Creality Generic PLA and even made Elegoo PLA using the profile found in the Neptune 4 Max. If you, or anyone gets that to work, please send me help.

Could you provide more detail on splicing in the new thermistor? Is there a correct way orient the wires? You soldered them?

Be careful with these machines. The manufacturer won’t tell you until it’s too late. The plastic they use for the control boards etc., is very flammable. If you leave the machine in the on position (not working), it can overheat and catch on fire. Search UA-cam for laser meltdown.

I tried doing exactly what you show in the video, bought the exact same parts, but I guess my soldering job wasn't good enough. The printer doesn't heat up as quick as it should and I get the failure to heat error screen. Pretty annoyed by all of this, and the fact that you make it sound so easy to just splice the wires together, but don't actually show anything related to that, is frustrating. The wires on the new thermistor are so incredibly tiny it makes soldering them to the old connector extremely delicate and hard. I've wired plenty of LED strips together so I have some experience with tiny wires, but this was something else. I now have to buy another thermistor and replace the recommended one. I'm going to go back to the original for now since trying to upgrade as shown here was just a waste of my time and money. I'm not buying a huge box of connectors and special crimping tools I'll never use for one single end piece either, I don't feel like that's an optimal solution. Why someone can't make the brass stud style thermistor with the correct connector for the N3 Pro is annoying too, but I wouldn't bother trying to solder it to the old connector as shown, it's more delicate than this video would lead anyone to believe.

I made these mods on my Neptune 3 Max and found that the heat break suggested had the thermistor on the opposite side. Now I finally have it all reassembled and I can’t get my filament to feed at all. Any suggestions?

Well there isn’t a need to align your build plate “precisely” since it’s an XY core. I guess someone could throw a plate on so bad that it hits the side fan on z travel… but for repeatability purposes and cleanliness I’ll grab those free prints. Thank you sir!

The 27mm long Creality style heatbreaks with 20mm long in-heatsink sections were waayyy too long to fit properly for my liking. So I went with a 20mm long Kraken length full titanium part with a 13mm long in-heatsink section....very short but at least I could adjust to get the total assembled length back to within 0.1mm of the OEM parts ....MUCH more acceptable ....my cooling air flow is aimed at the part not the heatblock because everything is tucked back up inside as Elegoo specd out. There are some 18mm parts out there but not enough guides OR amazon listings give proper measurements. ...it's frustrating ....those are the keys to replacments....numbers ....not names and amazon links with short lifespans of availability. I'd also add that EVERYONE watching this needs to get an M6 thread tap ....because a LOT of the heatblocks are full of burrs and the coating on the all-copper blocks messes with tolerances preventing nozzles or heatbreaks from properly threading....until the block threads are "chased" with the M6 tap. Forgot to add that you need a can of air to blow from the heatsink side back out the squirrel cage fan ....you wont beleive the dust bunnies living in there even in a closed closet like I keep my printers with a 24/7/365 dehumidifier running.....YIKES....probably should call that #onlyyoucanpreventprinterfires 😂

This was a big help to me. However, when I go to remove the tiny screws from the new heat block to replace them, the screws strip right away and I cannot get them out. Any idea on how to fix that? Thanks!

I can not removed the fans, they are just stuck from the connection area. Is there a tab I’m not holding down I’m using the tweezers and everything like in the video
