We depend on technology like we need it to live, but when it comes down to it there are more precious and valuable things we can do with our lives.
How am I younger than these people but still know a. How to work a flip phone and b. Basic functions expected from adults, like how to FOLD a map. Riddle me that
@Work with back Not with brain Because they didn't toil away flipping phones and folding maps like the rest of you're generation? Yeah ok dude. Whatever.
Midnight Sonnet It is better experience on desktop or laptop but phones or tablets are better at portability and you can quickly turn it off or hide. And i prefer holding my phone or tablet in hand.
No, not really. What task does a job require a personal smartphone to complete? Typically you are given a tablet to input data and a radio if you are far away outside.
At my university, all the biology labs require you take pictures of your results with your smart phone and then put those pictures in your official lab report for grading. I have so many pictures of all the E. coli I've grown in lab, and pictures of cancer causing chemical experiments, that it someone got a hold of my phone they'd think I was a criminal lmao
This was cringy to watch. Especially the whole "had to carry a map around." If you can't get around during the week to your usual spots, that's pretty bad. Hopefully it was just to go to places they have never been.
And it's also very good to know how to read maps. I travel with my family a lot to different countries and using Internet outside my own country is very expensive. So no Google Maps. U just got to have the place's map and some brains to know how to use it.
Yoko Igurashi Even that phone was more technology advanced than the one that i had when I was younger. When I was 9 I had a communist celphone with my sisters, the screen was green and when I was 13 I had a A1200 and it didn't even had the wifi option.
Yoko Igurashi I used to use my iPad everyday and use my computer everyday and got it taken away for 3 months and guess what I was fine watching tv it's not that hard I had nothing to do since my neighborhood is so bad that I can't go outside and I can't drive it's not that hard man
Let’s have some perspective here. My grandparents lived through the Great Depression as children. Their parents struggled every day just to find enough food to feed the family. It had such a profound psychological impact that until the day they died, they salvaged every food item they possibly could, even when it was questionable at best, and despite the fact that they had more than enough resources to go to the grocery store to purchase fresh food. Living through the Depression sounded like hell. Smartphone addiction sounds more like a social nuisance. Not comparable.
i’m born in 00 and honestly these people have the whole “addiction” thing on a new level. i’m honestly kinda embarrassed that our generation’s like that. i tried using a flip phone for a week and ended up using it for two months because i loved it so much, and whenever someone called and angered me i could just slam the phone shut. so satisfying! the only thing i felt longing for was my camera, as i’m used to using my phone to capture the sights of the city and pretty skylines for memory (i don’t post them as i don’t have social media).
I wish everyone would do this. I'm in my 30s and have never owned a smart phone. That means no twitter, no instagram, no google maps etc. I often leave my phone at home without a care. My reason for this is that I prefer to be self reliant and available on my schedule. It's a very freeing lifestyle. To someone like me this isn't even a challenge.
Check yourself before correcting others! 😑 IKR Tigran, lol my little brother once asked me what "these square things" were (pointing at a stack of "forgotten" floppy disks. I explained him what it was used for, he goes: "oooh, so basically a minecraft cd, LOL". SHAD AMOT, THAT LIL SHUN WAS MAKING FUN OF ME. 😳🙈🤣🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
I think it's really sad how dependent everyone is on their phones today like you go to a restaurant and look around and people are on their phones, you should be speaking to the people you're with
Well some of us still exist and can carry conversations without being on our phone. I was in my school parking lot driving to the stop and I am going slow. There was a girl texting and coming towards me. I see her and I stop way ahead. I was watching if she will notice that there's a car in her way. She almost walked into my car. Never ever text while walking across any intersection or you are moving into oncoming cars. Again parking lot usually people go slow but there'll come a day when someone is in a rush and whips out of there. Don't be that squirrel that never crossed the road!
This is so funny because I actually voluntarily chose to give up my phone to focus better in college and got a flip phone so I could still call and text people. The jokes about it with my friends are priceless :,-)
Don't they have like computers? Why would you have to use a map, if Google maps works on a computer? Also you can watch adult content on your laptop...

I'm glad I was born into the era of having to use a rotary phone, being taught and knowing how to turn things on as well as asking questions when I don't know how to do something. The pre-internet era was much better because you had to use your brain, literally. Now everyone is a zombie because of being glued to their phones and no one has to think anymore, everything is just a button away. Really sad.
Liv’sLovelyLair Lol why? Computers exist, why would you not quickly find the information you need rather than flip through a dictionary for 20 minutes.
01:13 - Stop acting like milennials are born after 2000. The generation is from 1980-2000, most of us have had a flip-phone and remember a life without internet or let alone touchscreens. We know how to turn on things that we used to own before everything got 'smart'. This one even has a camera :D You're on your own here, don't involve an entire generation into this ignorance. :P Still a funny vid, though. Although the cringe was real, lol.

How am I younger than these people but still know a. How to work a flip phone and b. Basic functions expected from adults, like how to FOLD a map. Riddle me that
Because you were exposed to it and they weren't.
@Work with back Not with brain Because they didn't toil away flipping phones and folding maps like the rest of you're generation? Yeah ok dude. Whatever.
Pornhub on flip phone is a nightmare
Megumin yep i prefer xvideos
experience
ThatSlave Gt same the pornhub is broken on phones for some reason so now i have to use XVIDEOS
Why do people watch porn on their phones? Isn't it a better experience on larger screens, like laptops and desktops? That's how I watch porn.
Midnight Sonnet It is better experience on desktop or laptop but phones or tablets are better at portability and you can quickly turn it off or hide. And i prefer holding my phone or tablet in hand.
Interesting concept but nowadays most jobs need some sort of smartphone
No, not really. What task does a job require a personal smartphone to complete? Typically you are given a tablet to input data and a radio if you are far away outside.
Need better excuses
I'm a dog sitter and absolutely need a phone. My phone tracks where I walk the dogs, etc. Plus think of jobs like uber, lyft, pizza delivery, etc.
At my university, all the biology labs require you take pictures of your results with your smart phone and then put those pictures in your official lab report for grading. I have so many pictures of all the E. coli I've grown in lab, and pictures of cancer causing chemical experiments, that it someone got a hold of my phone they'd think I was a criminal lmao
most people don't work for uber or lyft and pizza delivery doesn't require a smartphone
This was cringy to watch. Especially the whole "had to carry a map around." If you can't get around during the week to your usual spots, that's pretty bad. Hopefully it was just to go to places they have never been.
Yeah...
And it's also very good to know how to read maps. I travel with my family a lot to different countries and using Internet outside my own country is very expensive. So no Google Maps. U just got to have the place's map and some brains to know how to use it.
Oh come on. How is it cringy to use a map??
its cringy to need a map to get to places you've already been several times
They could of installed an older version of Google Maps with GPS functionality that runs on flip phones, that's the real cringe
I agree at 1:57. Life was simpler and there where a lot less distractions
If I saw the selfie at 2:02 on Tinder I would definitely swipe right, just sayin'...
right hes hot
Oh my god... I'm a millenial and I grew up WITHOUT a smartphone. It's not that difficult, guys...
They were over exaggerating. It was quite annoying.
Yoko Igurashi Even that phone was more technology advanced than the one that i had when I was younger. When I was 9 I had a communist celphone with my sisters, the screen was green and when I was 13 I had a A1200 and it didn't even had the wifi option.
Yoko Igurashi I used to use my iPad everyday and use my computer everyday and got it taken away for 3 months and guess what I was fine watching tv it's not that hard I had nothing to do since my neighborhood is so bad that I can't go outside and I can't drive it's not that hard man
Yoko Igurashi i know right
Same I literally have the SAME flip phone they have because my parents don't think i'm trustworthy or grateful enough for a smart phone
The motorolla razr was BY FAR one of the best phones of the century!!
The saddest generation ever. I don't think people who were living through the great depression were this sad of a life.
Agreed.
Not comparable.
didora didi idiot.
Consig1iere that’s such a generalization
I was born during the flip phone era aka 90 - 00. These people are idiots using these phones is easy, except typing.
Will always love shutting flip phones
"43 likes and 0 views, what's youtube on?"
SHUTUP
50 bajillion views and no likes. go home youtube you're drunk
In order for a person to technically view a video they need to watch it for a total of 3 seconds and many people like videos before that
Who else had that phone they used in the thumbnail?
Alexandra Mei me 😂😂
Me
Alexandra Mei Razr 👌🏻
I did heeh I think I still have that phone mmm
Me, it was my absolut favourite, still is :)
i’m born in 00 and honestly these people have the whole “addiction” thing on a new level. i’m honestly kinda embarrassed that our generation’s like that. i tried using a flip phone for a week and ended up using it for two months because i loved it so much, and whenever someone called and angered me i could just slam the phone shut. so satisfying! the only thing i felt longing for was my camera, as i’m used to using my phone to capture the sights of the city and pretty skylines for memory (i don’t post them as i don’t have social media).
I got rid of my flip phone a month ago... I miss it 😞
goodluck texting from inside your pocket while walking around
goodbye freedom
Nick Tokar how
Nick Tokar werdio
I used to have a flip phone but I think it either broke or I lost it
I have a flip phone 😁 I like it but I use my iPad for music and drawing apps and youtube
I use a flipphone since 2010 and I'm f**king allright
Tigran Abgarjan now if only your grammar was "alright"
Shawn that's their spelling not grammar!
Shawn "alright" technically isn't a word
Check yourself before correcting others! 😑
IKR Tigran, lol my little brother once asked me what "these square things" were (pointing at a stack of "forgotten" floppy disks. I explained him what it was used for, he goes: "oooh, so basically a minecraft cd, LOL". SHAD AMOT, THAT LIL SHUN WAS MAKING FUN OF ME. 😳🙈🤣🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
Shawn oops. I thought the word consists of "all" and "right"😅
this is the saddest viideo on youtube
I think it's really sad how dependent everyone is on their phones today like you go to a restaurant and look around and people are on their phones, you should be speaking to the people you're with
ikr...
Very true!
Emma Griffiths YES! I never take my phone out to dinner, dates, weddings, vacations, it's just disrespectful
I leave my phone in the car everywhere I go. A few seconds of joy is not worth loosing my friends.
This is so funny because I actually voluntarily chose to give up my phone to focus better in college and got a flip phone so I could still call and text people. The jokes about it with my friends are priceless :,-)
these the kind of phones when you get mad at somebody you viciously hang up by flipping the screen down💀
Don't they have like computers? Why would you have to use a map, if Google maps works on a computer? Also you can watch adult content on your laptop...
Astro Bear Computers are too big.Thats the problem.
@tomato tomato You can't message nor upload posts on the Instagram website *shrugs*
So like, you’re using a computer to get maps while driving on the car?
@@katherinalastname7077 You can.
Hell who has a computer anymore smartphones have almost killed them off the people ik that have a computer use it for gaming
AhAHAHAHAH "I have to go off for this" lol pornhub 😂😂😂

Seriously giving up on social media is the best thing you'll do
So the girl is one of those people who post everything online like “ I’m pooping now “ lol
BRUH!!! 90% of these people are born in the late 80's through 90's. How could the not have used a flip phone at some point? WOW.
" k, thanks bye."😂

U little pervert 🤣😂😆😁😄😃😀😅😂😂🤣☺️😊
Let me guess your a white guy right
I'm glad I was born into the era of having to use a rotary phone, being taught and knowing how to turn things on as well as asking questions when I don't know how to do something. The pre-internet era was much better because you had to use your brain, literally. Now everyone is a zombie because of being glued to their phones and no one has to think anymore, everything is just a button away. Really sad.
The Crimson Shadow I def feel more clarity when I take a break from mod tech and social media.
In my school, you must use your dictionary and thesaurus, no computers. Textbooks for life!
Liv’sLovelyLair Lol why? Computers exist, why would you not quickly find the information you need rather than flip through a dictionary for 20 minutes.
Because I actually find it better to flip through and find the word. It’s more fulfilling and I remember it better
My mom always complains I use my phone to much she seems more forces on that than things that I did good. :c
My phone is called social interaction. It was free.
Bryson Xiao respect
Bryson Xiao you got to consider stuff like what if you're a student athlete or having a lot of homework... like I need to communicate through my phone
Bryson Xiao stop trynna be edgy you're deadass typing this with a smartphone jesus christ
I'm sure ur the social butterfly. Up here, on UA-cam, making edgy comments. Very social butterfly :)
I don't read... nor drink bland water. Nice job gettin triggered when the comment wasn't even for u
Doesnt even know how to fold a map...
Drove engineers all over the world insane.
ZombieArtist Poor millennials
Ikr
I know so many people who still use flip phones because it's so much cheaper😂
You can easily get a 50 dollar iphone on CL or Offerup. No reason to use flip phone unless you get a sudden coolness factor from doing so
U can by the lg b470 flip phone for $29 and a ZTE MAVEN 3 for $29 and it is a touchscreen smartphone
ImaginaryMarioBros I just got a 5s perfectly good for 40 dollars 😝
Radiant Riley
Or just get a used iPhone off EBay
Nope. I just got fortunate. It's perfectly fine. Unlocked. I got a steal.
„my life‘s so much better with a fliphone. I can‘t wait to get my iphone back.“
A week is 7 days, not 5. That's a HUGE difference of 40% more time in an actual week.
Still a funny vid, though. Although the cringe was real, lol.
u sound just like a caveman or a cavewoman u old dinosaur. u remember a world without internet?
u most be a gen xer or a baby boomer. As a millennial for sure I grow up in a digital era unlike u who grow up during the analong era
Suzanne I'm a super late millennial omg. December of 2000
Millennials rock n roll you sound like a moronic child though.
Facts
Suzanne the razor 2006...simple az fudge!!!

Gilman Ong Ur not funny you stole Ellen's joke liar
You make my life complete
Gilman Ong lol
Poor kids.... live life guys... dont live within social media and phones...thats not life all about
I don't use social media, just UA-cam about technology and tons of video games and more tinkering with electronics.
@DaGamers. most people do not even cuss and play fortnite like a 9 year old including me, anyway who plays fortnite, play world of warships or csgo, battlefield 4, gta v, farcry 5, etc. Also UA-cam is a great place to learn about science and technology with channels like seeker, scishow, etc and for tech there's bitwit ltt eev blog Paul's hardware science studio kristofer yee techlinked randomgamininhd budget builds official and many more tech tuners, now for history there's mark Felton productions, history that deserves to be remembered and more for history and especially ww1 ww2 and cold war history topping UA-cam off with some star wars star trek and stargate lore...
There were no kids there.
Don’t tell me what to do. I’ll use social media all I freaking mind. I live my life like I want to and you can’t tell me how to live it you idiot
Ok boomer
Yo she really was trynna watch Porn Hub on a flip phone 😭
I had a flip phone and I'd imagine these people are close to me in age. Surprised they're so lost with these phones
I like that flip phone feeling when you close it and sounds like "tap" ah good memories
*_I love how me, a 13 yo knows how to work a flip phone 😂_*
Good i'd keep it that way and stay FAR away from all that other stuff :)
Ikr

Lmao
“I noticed things I did notice before”
* pans to a video of him looking at the world one trade centre *
.... honey I sure hope that that wasn’t the first time u noticed that...
Watching this while I was at the checkout at Walmart getting my prepaid flip phone to use for school to minimize distractions.
she seriously had to use a map? I know my way around my city without using my phone or a map. do you seriously rely on it that much? lol
yea true but it is NYC
I've lived in the same city all my life and I depend on Gps and my car navigation to get around. Some people just aren't good with directions
Depends on where you live.
I don't know every part of my city but I know enough to get by. Only use a maps when I venture into areas I haven't been before.
The only time I use a map is when Idk the area.
what was it Tyler Durden said in Fight Club?
"Things you own, end up owning you."
People act like the last thing you're supposed to do on a phone is make calls....like wtf. Use a computer to check emails lol
that was me everyday of the year in 2009 when I was a little teen. best part was closing the phone after saying “bye”
Reads pusheen the cat book for entertainment and gets enlightened 🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽😩😩✨✨✨⭐️🛐🛐🛐🛐
