This is great listening practice. She speaks a very professional sounding Spanish, as if she worked for the news. Also she is strikingly beautiful with a regal air about her, I would have been super nervous. Also, I’m glad that this shows there are many Latinos with our skin tone, not just the stereotype of morenos nosotros gringos pensamos
Sorry to just hop on this my first youtube comment ever lol but man I'm having some trouble staying motivated early. I think it's the frustration of doing it by myself. I got 3 books starting the madrigals key to a spanish but where do I start? I'm seeing tons of vids that say start with verbs and what not I guess I'm asking possibly for a reasonable template for someone who's 23 days in...?
@@shaquillecobbs8995 Mike Ben has a video of all the steps he did when he first started learning for the first year... But to answer your question, how did you first start learning your mother tongue? _That_ is how you learn another language. As babies -> toddlers -> kids -> teens -> adults, we learn by: 1. Listening 2. Talking 3. Reading 4. Writing So, I would start there in that order, and mix it around, but have fun with it! Learn the language as you were learning English; learn as a child, speak speak speak, read easy books, watch kids shows, learn a little bit of grammar here and there, but don't make grammar the main focus, focus on listening, listen to podcasts or music, etc.... there's so much tools out there.
It was funny at the beginning of the video Mike said, “mi novel es un poco mas avanzado.” Yeah, I would say C-2. Hope to get there one day. Mike: at your level, a what kind of things/activities do you engage in to keep your sword sharp? Much respect.
Thanks and just consuming content regularly, podcasts, videos, reading the news in Spanish, plus I use Spanish daily with my job so that helps tremendously as well.
Hi Mike, Thanks for sharing all your progress videos - they are a great help for motivation. I have been learning for about 5 weeks. When would you suggest that use a tutor off Italki? My vocab is limited so I wasn't sure if I should jump in early or wait for about 3 months. John
I’m glad these videos help John. I would wait until you had a decent ability to understand basic questions. I would wait until after 1 month or 2 months before starting classes

Gracias Carlos!

Gracias por la recomendación. El español simplemente me sale nada más

Mike's Spanish is clear, you need to work on your comprehension. Native speakers slur their pronunciation a lot more than Mike does.
