I'm kinda surprised you (seemingly) didn't recognize the song! It's one of the two songs that play in the truck. This one ("Alone and Forsaken" by Hank Williams) plays when we cut to Ellie sleeping in the truck, and it continues to play until they get ambushed by the Hunters. It then also plays from the now busted truck as you fight off the Hunters.
Pretty good singing voice, btw!!

I was stuck for a second when it started too lol. Once that crash scene happened it hit me. "It was the song playing when they got to Pittsburgh!" I'm so glad they're paying attention to detail.
@@drumhog89 I've heard that song was also used for the game trailer back before it originally got released. Haven't confirmed it though.

Pedro Pascal did a really good job giving Ellie the exact same look that Joel gave her in the game.

4:04 Those are not a pride rainbows, that's a baby blanket flapping over a tiny baby skull. Based on that alone, this show is not going to be pulling any punches in regard to the ultra dark tone of the game.
Also, Melanie Lynskey (Ever After, YellowJackets) is playing a new character. Based on that and a few of the other castings, like Frank, Bill's partner who is just a dead body and a note in the game, they will be faithfully retelling the story while expanding on a few of the story elements.
Frank, there's a quick blip shot of two people holding hands at 4:33. If you freeze frame, it looks like they are both the hands of men. Also, they are both in suits.

That trailer song is from Hank Williams , it was on the cassette tape Ellie stole from Bill in the first game. I get choked up watching this series come to life. I know they can't please everyone, but I hope it's very good. So far looks great.

I have to really have to point out that the scene showing Joel looking at another man through a bock passage on fire was Tommy. Nobody ever mentions that. It was in the game, and I remember that very well.

Melanie Lynskey the actress that you love from Ever After she is playing a brand new original character named Kathleen who is the leader of a revolutionary movement in Kansas City. So this is different from the game. In fact it seems the Kansas City section will likely replace the Pittsburgh section of the game as Sam and Henry will encounter Joel and Ellie here rather than in Pittsburgh like in the game.

I absolutely loved both games The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 equally, both are roller coaster ride for emotions. Can't wait for the series it is going to be epic. I don't care if they do bring in Left Behind DLC in the series people need to know how Ellie got her immunity.

I'm so glad that there are elements from the game in it. What I saw is enough. The bar is pretty low. Normally that would be just a stupid zombie b-movie which is called last of us, but this might actually be good. I hope we can enjoy it 2023!
