How I managed to beat a pro in Rocket League

I had the brilliant idea to trick a Rocket League pro into thinking I'm better than him. Basically, I cheated... and it worked. I challenged Comm from Version1 in a workshop map that he should normally be way better than me at.

The Eversax Olympics is a new workshop map that caught my eye the first time I saw it. The map alone is already really fun to challenge yourself and your friends, but I had the idea to do more with it. I figured I could get really good at it if I practiced it enough, so I decided to challenge professional Rocket League player Comm from Version1 in it. However, I practiced it a TON beforehand without telling him, to give myself the advantage. I knew he'd be WAY better than me if we both went into the map blind, but if I could practice it enough, I thought I could beat him.

Pros have thousands of hours more practice than normal GCs. Most GCs get there in 1.5-3k hours and Squishy is at 15k hours

I've watched a bunch of videos, different RL content creators, and I gotta admit. This is by far one of the best I've seen solely because seeing the pure genuine frustration on your face from the screw ups made and showing what they were while so determined on getting the beautiful final outcome you did. So, I'm a little older, def a RL Boomer in the scene, and this map has made me more confident than ever. Idk my Olympic score, but irdc. I've grinded this map for hours, and it made me better in every way. So confident that I actually trolled my way up to GC2 yesterday with a buddy. It wasn't a deathly grind like usual. It's taken me about 3 weeks compared to Wayton's 4 days, but Wayton is just built dif 😂

What blows me away is that even after 5 days of dedicated grinding a GC player was still nowhere close to Comm at the Airdribble or Shooting sections.

hey man, been a fan of the channel for almost a year now and u seem to know what your talking about. ive been playing rocket league since i was 9 (in 2017) and have been hardstuck in plat for 5 years ive easily watched hundreds if not thousands of hours videos trying to learn different skill i practice for hours everyday but i never make progress... i play duel mainly but i hop on the occasional duos and whenever i do im usually on the losing side most people in my situation would blame their teamates, but i think i AM the bad teamate i have pretty good awareness of the game and can attempt some mechanics but cant confidentely do any of them if i have a high rank teamate (diamond or champ) on coms i do alot better but i dont know if IM doing better or my teamates setting me up for easy goals. again ill doubt you read this but any tips you can give me would mean alot bro. hope u make it to 500k soon
