John Goodman was perfect, Rick Moranis was fun too. Casting Rosie O'Donnell was their mistake. Betty should have been played Tracy Ullman or Jennifer Tilly.
John Goodman was Steven Spielberg’s first and only choice to play Fred Flintstone. If Goodman didn’t get the role or turned it down, the film might not have even been made at all.
....once upon a time Jewllywood were capable to do quality movies. NSince at least a decaded there is a complete lack of this, new ideas..and such a thing.
When I was younger I thought this movie was very corny and dumb. Now that I'm grown, and seen how Hollywood 'reimagines' movies these days, I can appreciate a lot better how dedicated to the source material this movie was. Everything from the casting to the set design, feels to me like they were truly trying to make a Flintstones movie.
I totally agree. And to be honest, maybe this should be a golden standard across all movie adaptations: be for the kids AND the fans who enjoy the source material. (Minecraft movie take notes)
also they managed to maintain the cartoonish feeling, that for some reason modern adaptations try to stay away from and make everything serious and realistic
This movie came out in 1994 a year before I was born and i was only able to watch it years after and I loved everything about this movie I was in awe how they were able to make the live-action cartoon movie...CLASSIC MASTERPIECE❤
This was the movie that first introduced me to John Goodman. So, growing up, i was very surprised and honestly not used to seeing him in more serious roles where he doesn’t act all goofy.
Fred Flintstone cartoon days were my best childhood days in my life. Now i hate the adult phase. Not a happy life. I miss those days i run from school in the evening to watch Flintstones, poppeye, Dragon ball, swat catz, tom n jerry and many more. Thanks for this video.
Está película sigue sorprendiendo todavía, estaba re bien hecha y toda tradicional sin fondo verde. Hasta el CGI de Dino se veía muy realista al estar hecho por los mismos de Jurassic Park.
I never understood what the mammoth said when Fred was showing off his clothes as a kid. Just thought it was belching or something. This movie was great!
Ok, someone please confirm whether or not I'm going crazy and have serious mandela effect, but does anyone else recall that right after fred shows off to the girls, Wilma is like it's perfect but decides to cut off a bit of the zebra tail at the back of the suit before fred heads to his first day??????
Nah I don't recall that...I can quote any and every line from this movie and all scenes. I don't remember that and we had this on VHS far before DVD'S. LOL
John Goodman really was the perfect choice for live action Fred flintstone.

@@Da_Benskitrue that!

I don’t think anyone could’ve done Fred better than John did.
Couldn't agree more
This movie was honestly the best live-action representation of a cartoon series. To this day it STILL impresses me how they filmed it.
Maybe it was perfect because disney didn’t touch it lol
It wasn't, it kind of sucked.

One thing I like about this movie is that the place feels like one big theme park, kudos to the set designers going all in.

Kudos to everybody that says kudos. Maybe even mad props.

Yes! With practical effects too and didn’t require such High budget
also they managed to maintain the cartoonish feeling, that for some reason modern adaptations try to stay away from and make everything serious and realistic
They would have recruited negroes according to quotas right now.
Better than most of those CGI Films...Made With passion
“Mid East negotiations break down.” Dang, every universe
In the comic book they show how wars are in the flintstone universe
@@joserobertosolismerlin5527They have wars?
Four soldiers walking a tank

Thanks to this movie, I literally do this every week when I shave.
XD
1:46 Even the mammoth likes it.
Snazzy
The fridges in the Flintstones movie remind me a lot of the Hungry Jacks ones I used to work in. The fridges there are huge.
The remind me of the ones at McDonald's they're big too
The very first Flintstone size Fridgedare
A walk in refrigerator. Most restaurants have them.
I love when John Goodman does the same voice like Sully from “Monsters Inc” (2001) 😂❤
Because he's Sully. ❤❤
I mean, he's not really doing a "voice", it's just how he sounds
Except this is seven years before Monsters Inc
@@Majin_Dabura Exactly 👍
That’s kind of like an Inside Joke 🤣
Loved its cartoon series. Precious memories!.
0:05 good god my humor is broken
The pracitcal effects and puppetry in this movie was wonderful. I loved this movie as a kid
It really does stand the test of time, they really did nail the look
Just another morning for Mr Vice President.
1:46 YEAH SNAZZY!
The mammoth has good taste.
Liz Perkins was absolutely stunning in this. She matched Halle Berry and that’s saying something
My thoughts as well
Halle Berry was pretty unmatchable back in those days, the only woman who could send her to the second place was Cameron Diaz in the mask 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is probably the best live action cartoon adaptation I have
Fred: Today’s The Day!
the sets back then were so good
I remember watching that film in the cinema as a child :D
This set was amazing!!
The attention to detail in this live action film really was something special
Idk why but out of all their gadgets , I am fascinated by the live trimmer the most 🐊
Such a great Movie
Very surprised to see such a creative film made back in the day. Writing this in 2024

Great cast
I didn't really watch the cartoon growing up but just by this small clip I can see how fun they made the movie.

Still the best live action adaptation of all time
This old cartoon live action movie looks pretty good. Practical effects.
that news stone shattered on the door always cracks me up

John Goodman was born to be live-action Fred.
compared to family friendly movies today this is such a gem. People just put so much more effort into details back then.
Good to see headlines haven't changed in 30 years.

Good ol Dino
Most practical effects movie ever not too mention comedy gold from a by gone era the 90s.
Rhis was one of my faves as a kid, as corny as some folks saw this movie. Nearly wore the tape out altogether
