These English songs are not indicative of their discography. They were released during Covid to bring happiness to everyone around the world.
BTS originally began as a hip hop group. There are 3 rappers in the group. Their songs have sick beats and deep lyrics. Check out their other songs. Thanks!

The more you get into their music the more you'll be surprised by what they're capable of. The 3 English songs are fun songs that they made to cheer up their fans during the pandemic but they don't represent their music at all. BTS do it all and they do all genres ( hip-hop, r&b, pop, latin pop, ballad, rock, ..etc). I've never seen so much talent and versatility in one group. Not to mention their powerful uplifting lyrics and the important issues they touch on in their music like societal expectations from youth, mental health, self love and much more. Keep reacting to them and you won't be disappointed💜

I’m not sure I would hang my hat on that idea of “BTS sticks to one topic and are consistent” if I were you. I call BTS “the thinking person’s group” because their music - outside of the three all-English pop songs made to cheer up the world during the pandemic - have deep, thought-provoking messages about things like societal ills and challenges, mental health, Jungian psychological theories, (Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7) etc. If all you want or can like/appreciate in music are light, poppy, mostly thoughtless songs, stick to US artists. I like BTS because they are NOT like US artists most of the time. They often “disguise” their deep thoughts in great, upbeat or driving/rock/EDM tunes - like “Am I Wrong” or “Whalien 52” or “Dionysus” or “Disease” or “ON” or “So What” or “Fake Love” or “Idol” or “DNA.” They also have a 3-album series on the topic of love, and they show that we have to love ourselves before we can love someone else properly:
    Love Yourself: Her
    Love Yourself: Tear
    Love Yourself: Answer

Thanks for reacting again to BTS ! I think they will surprise you on many levels as Dynamite and Butter are probably the most "typical" songs they've released (they just wanted to share good vibes during covid and make people smile). So yeah Dynamite and Butter are good but it's about 5% of what they can do. I'm afraid they certainly do not stick to one topic 😅
I'm probably not qualified enough to write a proper introduction on who these gentlemen are but basically BTS has, no lie, the widest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs. That means, no matter what your genre is, you'll find songs you like and some you might enjoy less. Anyways, as much as medias like to put groups in the same box, BTS is no typical "boyband" and even in the Kpop industry, they're incomparable, totally different. BTS are pionniers in some way and have a totally different story. But most of all, they've been working very hard for a decade, literally starting from scratch in a company that was on the verge on bankruptcy only to have made this company one of the biggest economic sources in South Korea nowadays. They literally are the one who paved the way for Kpop artists out of Korea. To make it short, there are 3 rappers and 4 singers. Before debuting, two of them were underground rappers and another two of them were dancers. And on top of being amazing rappers, singers and dancers ; BTS members write, produce, take part in the artistic concepts, music videos, dance choreographies, ideas... Everything basically, in collaboration with their company staff and artists. They're really on a lane of their own and I think you'll see that for yourself then you react to more. Plus, they have one of the strongest bond with their fans (called the BTS Army) and they just reciprocate all the love they receive from us and even more.
That being said, I hope you react to more and discover the gigantic world that is BTS. You’d be missing out ! 😁
Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group, the members, how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. That was my case when I first became a fan (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. One of the most complete (and amazingly made) guide is : "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" (by Taylor Mari). Hope you'll react to it ! In any case, enjoy the journey.

I've been listening to music since the 70's and sometimes extend to the 50's and 60's which is before I was born. I don't have any specific genre. As long as the melody sounds nice to me, I like. No questions asked.
So for BTS, most of their songs suit my preference compared to other artists.
I still explore other artist until now but none could come close to BTS. 😊

There is a good MV that will give you a sense of how deep their discography goes and more of their evolution musically is Rice Squad's, "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!)." It gives a brief history of K-pop , how Big Hit started, how BTS came to be, and their evolution from Hip Hop to IDOL using the chrono of their album releases to take you from their beginnings pre debut 2012 to around August 2022. It also gives you the sense of the very tactical evolution of their sound over the years up to that point in time.

    Thanks for your wonderful reaction.
They are the biggest band in the world. And ARMY (name of the fandom) are the biggest fandom ever.
    Here an overview about BTS:
BTS (in Korean "Bangtan Sonyeondan" means Bulletproof Boyscouts) consists of three rappers and four vocalists. All seven of them are excellent dancers.
Here is the list of their names:
    RM - leader, main rapper
    Jin - visual, vocals
    SUGA - lead rapper
Jhope - dance leader, main dancer, rapper
Jimin - main dancer, lead vocals
    V - visual, vocals
JK - main vocals, lead dancer
They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop.
All seven members participate in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them.
BTS started with a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance, these three songs were released in English to give positive energy to people around the world during the pandemic caused by Covid-19.
Most of their songs are in Korean, and their music video provides subtitles in several languages, including English. (Please turn on the subtitles while watching)
If you're interested in BTS's songs, here is a list of them:
    Mic Drop
    Fake Love
    FIRE
    DNA
    Save me
    Spring day
    Boy with Luv
    IDOL
The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative. BTS are famous for their deep and meaningful lyrics. They have written almost 95% of their songs from their discography.
BTS offers a wide range of genres when it comes to their music. As a group they are explosive but they are also individually amazing in their different style of music. They make a wide variety of genres of music like Hip-hop, Ballad, R&B, pop, EDM, etc. I'm sure there are quite a few of their over 300 songs that suit your taste. :) They have numerous world records to their names.
BTS has redefined the K-pop genre with their eclectic blend of hip-hop, pop, R&B, and EDM, creating a unique sound that appeals to audiences worldwide. Their music is characterized by its heartfelt lyrics, powerful vocals, and dynamic performances, setting them apart as true artists and innovators in the industry.
BTS's music often addresses important social issues, including mental health, identity, and self-acceptance. Through their lyrics, they offer comfort, encouragement, and hope to listeners, sparking important conversations and promoting positive change in society.
BTS's openness and vulnerability have endeared them to fans, as they share their personal struggles, dreams, and aspirations through their music. Their sincerity and authenticity resonate deeply with listeners, fostering a sense of connection and empathy that transcends language and cultural barriers.
Another song I recommend is "Run BTS". Their is no official MV for this one, they have a dance practice video and their live performance from their free Busan concert.
Lastly, I think this video is the best to understand each BTS member. ;)

I would love to watch more of BTS reactions on your channel.
I hope you enjoy their whole discography.

By the way, you don't have to like KPOP to like BTS. I Love BTS, but I'm not a fan noise music. That's what a lot of people call KPOP. But I have run across some solo artists and a group or two that are okay. BTS basically paved the way for KPOP to have a platform in the Western and Global Market.

Well, i wouldn't make up opinion about BTS with 2 songs. They catalog is big and has everything for anyones taste. Hippop, ballad, edm, pop etc.
To see different side of BTS i would say next should be Mic Drop. Or Run BTS (not Run but Run BTS there two songs) but it doesnt have mv, so you could watch dance practice or live performance. Both are on theirs official BANGTANTV channel.
And as for to offering other kpop artists, well each member realised songs as soilists too. Each member has their own flavor but i wouldn't put them in category either, since they like try other things too. So:
    Wildflower by RM
    The Astronaut by Jin
    Haegeum by Agust D
    More by JHope
    Like Crazy by Jimin
    Love Me Again by V
Standing Next To You by Jungkook

BTS debuted in 2013, 3 rappers and 4 voices.
They are not a stereotypical Kpop group or a typical boyband, they are seven different artists with very different styles in one group, they write, compose and produce most of their songs.
They are bigger than the kpop industry, they are currently the biggest group in the world.
Their fandom is called Army, BTS is known for their interaction with their fans, they are very kind and grateful, also very funny.
BTS and Army have a powerful bond, it comes from the fact that BTS had no money or influence when they debuted, they were a small company group, they came from the bottom.
It was the people who opened the doors for them, their fandom moves the sky for them, they have the love and loyalty of their people (people of all ages, mostly adults).
They don't have a defined musical genre, they make Hip hop, R&B, ballads, pop and more.
His lyrics are important, his music is about different moments in life to support people in their struggles.
If you want to get an idea of who they are and what they do, I recommend "A Guide for BTS Members: Bantang 7" by taylor (47 minutes) the time doesn't matter, Army loves new people discovering BTS.
The members also have solo albums and individual projects, they are currently doing their mandatory military service in Korea, the oldest returns this June 12 because he was the first to leave, but the complete group will only be complete in June 2025. I will tell you I recommend Tiny Desk, Butter at the Grammys but I always recommend watching the guide first.
    Individual music.
    💜RM (rapper): album: Indigo.
    I recommend the Tiny Desk.
    Song: "wild flower"
    💜Jin (vocal): song "the astronaut".
I recommend the presentation with Coldplay in Argentina.
(He was the first to go to military service and said goodbye to his fandom with this song).
    💜Suga Aka Agust D (Rapper): album: D-day.
    Song: Haegeum.
I recommend the Trilogy: "AMYGDALA", "Daechwita" and "Haegeum"
💜 JHope (rapper): album: Jack in The box.
    Song:More.
I recommend his presentation at Lollapalooza.
    💜Jimin (vocal).
    album: Face.
    Song: Like crazy.
I recommend his presentation with Jimmy Fallon.
    💜 V (vocal): album: Layover.
    I recommend Tiny Desk.
    Song: Slow dancing.
    💜 Jungkook (vocals): album: Golden.
song: Standing next to You (the song has a remix with Usher) I like both versions.
I recommend his presentation at Times Square NYC

BTS stands for Bang Tan Sonyeondan - Korean for Bulletproof Boy Scouts. They only have three English songs. So when you do react to their Korean songs, please use the closed captions. I can link you a song or two. What you will find about BTS are that they are very diverse in their music. I will link you a medley and 2 songs that are all different vibes. The music video you should like, it shows their dance, on another level. And the lyricism in the songs are top notch. BTS write most of their own music, and they all have contributed songwriting, composition, and production to their discography.
Another thing you will find about BTS ARMY in general, is that they are not fans of K-Pop on average, but fans of music. I'm a 58 year old from California, and I discovered BTS in 2020 during the pandemic, and I never was a dedicated fan of any boybands before, much less South Korean artists. Their music pulled me, in and their messages got me through some really rough times. And the members themselves are amazing guys. Please react to more BTS.

Thanks for reacting to BTS BUT…..these upbeat songs are catchy, and fun ,and were made like that cause of the pandemic. They were supposed to cheer up ARMY (BTS’s fandom ), during a difficult time. These songs, although chart toppers, don’t represent the philosophy of this group that well. Other songs will show you what I mean. They sing about all types of topics, whether it’s social injustices, depression, loving yourself, loving their music, replying to their haters that accused them of stupidities at the beginning of their career, youth empowerment, and it keeps going…… Needless to say, their singing, their dancing, their lyrics, their performances are fantastic, and this is why they are the biggest group in the world right now . If you think they are just a fun and poppy group, you are mistaken. They have substance, and lots of work to back it up. I suggest you watch a guide to BTS to learn more about them if that interests you( A guide to BTS : The Bangtan 7 from Taylor Mari is a good start, but there are more recent ones from feb. 2024 that are good too). They are long videos but ARMY will watch them with you. Enjoy your journey.💜

I hope you’ve reacted to their non English songs. That’s where BTS comes alive. They have over I believe 400 songs in total, solos and group songs. Watch the guide to the bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. React to it. Army’s 9 their fan base). It’s a long video but we will watch it. We like genuine reactors. Also jungkook ( BTS youngest member) did a remix of his song standing next to you with usher . But please react to the guide. You will learn so much and we will have fun watching with you. It’s ok to pause to show interest and ask questions. Army’s love that. I would also say Army’s are the biggest fan base in the world

For a sampling of some other BTS songs, you could check out their 2021 Festa. Their English songs were specifically to cheer up their fanbase, called Army, during Covid. (The final Covid song is "Permission to Dance"....many don't like it because it's not got some ultra-deep meaning, but it makes me happy.)
Other groups/song suggestions: (FYI it is common for Kpop songs to change beats mid-song. Most of these suggestions do not, so as to ease you into the kpop rabbithole.)
    TXT: Loser=Lover (Korean/English)
    Jackson Wang: 100 Ways (English)
Monsta X: Whispers in the Dark (English)
Jungkook: Standing Next to You (English) (Jungkook is a BTS member)
    Rolling Quartz: Blaze (Korean/English)
    Le Sserafim: Fearless (Korean/English)
Dreamcatcher: Boca (Korean/English-this does have beat changes, but still a fire song)
    Good Luck!

You are probably right about their English songs because they are written by Western writers. The majority of their Korean songs have deeper meanings than you expect, and most are written by them. Please check out Fake Love, Black Swan, and Mic Drop. Don't expect similar genre when you listen to them because they are very versatile as a group and soloists. I am 49, and BTS is the first group that I am into. Don't worry about the hate you got from other fandoms because some kpoppies can't accept people who don't like their groups' songs. We have no problem with it as long as it is constructive criticism. As a kpop fan, it's hard for me to listen to some groups because their songs sound too noisy for me. I think you probably like Seventeen and TXT.
