What I love about BTS is the diversity and versatility in music you get from them. You have the rap line, the vocal, line, the whole group, seven soloists, seven+ different genres, etc. I can literally mix and match with BTS depending on my mood. Do I like every song?? Absolutely not! But their discography is at least 400+ songs over the course of 11 years. The first time I heard this song, right away I said OLD SCHOOL GROOVE and JK killed it. That base line and horn section was so on point for that mid 80's sound which i remember well.😊 He and Usher both said it was paying homage to MJ.
When i first heard the song (the original song), it automatically reminded me of MJ. I first heard MJ songs in 1984 so of coz i recognized the influence ☺. I actually feel proud that a young lad like JK is paying homage to MJ. Am not a big fan of this remix because firstly i'm not a fan of Usher and secondly this remix only came out 1.5 months after the original version. So i'm already stuck with the first one😅.

"Standing Next To You" is a funky song, it's funk... that's why you guys are getting Bruno Mars, MJ, and disco vibes all at once. In fact, this reminds me of MJ's "Off The Wall" era. Anything they perceive as a threat to the group, including a member himself, will be pushed back against. Alas, this will be the downfall of BTS, fans who hold on too tight, not allowing the guys to figure out how to fulfill their personal and group dreams & desires.
The first time I heard this song, right away I said OLD SCHOOL GROOVE and JK killed it. That base line and horn section was so on point for that mid 80's sound which i remember well.😊 He and Usher both said it was paying homage to MJ.

When i first heard the song (the original song), it automatically reminded me of MJ. I first heard MJ songs in 1984 so of coz i recognized the influence ☺. I actually feel proud that a young lad like JK is paying homage to MJ.
Am not a big fan of this remix because firstly i'm not a fan of Usher and secondly this remix only came out 1.5 months after the original version. So i'm already stuck with the first one😅.
Everything goes back to Michael for me, just in general. Usher, Bruno, BTS, etc., are all influenced by Michael. The best can take that influence & make something their own. I love all of them. Yes, JK's tats are all real 😁💜💜💜

BTS love & respect Michael Jackson and have paid homage to him multiple times. If you watch Dynamite, a lot of their choreo is MJ!! In the documentary ‘Thriller 40’ they actually mention BTS.

"Standing Next To You" is a funky song, it's funk... that's why you guys are getting Bruno Mars, MJ, and disco vibes all at once. In fact, this reminds me of MJ's "Off The Wall" era. This song has "classic" written all over it, as compared to Jimin's more modern-sounding "Who", you got that for sure.

Yes, Jungkook's tattoos are real, he has a whole sleeve, as you mentioned, and it is composed of several different tattoos which have meaning for him. He actually started with 4 letters on his knuckles that read A R M Y, and it went on from there. To go thru' his tattoos would probably take a whole explanation video to do it though. Lol! 😀

Getting back to your reaction yes there is a lot of Michael Jackson influence and it is actually a tribute to Michael Jackson the official “Standing. Next. To. You“ Music video does not have Usher because you are actually watching a remix which is just a good as an official but it’s not the original from the physical album “Golden“ by JungKook.
If you look at the present day pop and R&B and hip-hop they don’t have the exact same formulation that was used in the 70s 60s 80s for example even 90s. And what I’m getting here is Michael Jackson’s influencing not just South Korean Music artist but everybody around the world and, Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Timberlake etc. have all taken examples and influences of Michael Jackson they studied Michael Jackson .
Michael Jackson is like the teacher of his special type of delivery of music and dance. It’s continuing and it’s a good thing because that means that it will live forever from one generation to another!
I’m not sure if you guys know this but Michael Jackson was influenced by “. James Brown” yes he even said in an interview that James Brown influenced him on many certain moves and he credits James Brown for a lot of his influencing his type of style of dancing ! So just like history repeats itself so does music the formulation of music can be different from generation to generation but there’s still the basics behind for example on Michael Jackson influence and Elvis Presley influence etc. so musical artists of today have taken influence from many artists of yesterday!
