I used a small flat head screwdriver for the whole thing. How to swap stuff and the simple way of taking the glass off helped me. Thanks for the simple video. It looks like it took you about 10 min. My first time doing this and was done in a lil less than 15. Simple job.
So unprofessional/ but I love it ! This is real repair ❤️ Nobody is perfect like the “video” But this video is showing everything real ! I will subscribe You and like video
Short answer is YES. Adheasive on the chinese parts usually bull crap but if you're lucky enough to buy it directly from LG it IS as strong as original. When phones are assembled in the factory it happens in the controlled dust-free environment which ensures water resistance, AND each phone is individually tested (Which usually aren't achievable things to do at your desk). You CAN make your phone water resistant but it depends on you and a number of factors (level of dust, atmospheric pressure, etc.)by how much. In any way, as I mentioned earlier, I would not consider it water resistant any more, and most certainly would not trust it. Hope I was helpful.
never use a knife, the battery is next to the edge in a lot of phone and if you puncture it you can be in a world of hurt. Also the way you handle the camera lens makes it almost impossible to get it clean on the inside. Its easier to just buy the backcover with button and camera lens already preinstalled. To be honest this quite a shoddy repair.
Is it REALLY easier?? I recently broke my V30+ back cover in a very similar way to the video and have been looking everywhere for replacement back covers. I have yet to see a single one that comes with those parts preinstalled--only separate (and expensive) listings for the lens cover and the fingerprint sensor. if you know where it's actually POSSIBLE to buy this, please share!
mugenjouproject ahh that might make some difference, i found more results for the G6 even when I was looking for the V30 :p honestly now I'm debating between replacing it or just putting it in a case so i can't see it and it doesn't spread lol
Come on... It'll be fine! Yeah, maybe he'll have a camera bit dirty, but really not that much. Shoddy repair is when you snap the volume button cable and forget about it. And it it severely smudged he can dump it into some alcohol to clean it up.
Just got my back cover in the mail and rewatched your video for the repair. Took me 10 minutes to install shiny new back ! Saved me $120 to repair myself instead of paying sprint, awesome video!
this way you lose your water resistance. If you buy the original back cover with powerbutton installed & camera lens preinstalled you would not lose water resistance as long if you properly clean the old adhesive off from the metal frame.
Hi man, what do you mean by "as long as if you properly clean the old adhesive"? You mean like literally cleaning the adhesive (try to remove dust particles), or do you mean like removing the adhesive and replacing it with new?
Ronaldello97 use isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface where the new adhesive will stick inside of the phone frame. You can just stick the new one on top but waterproofing is in that case not guaranteed.
When you remove the old back cover the old adhesive will stay stuck on that part 9 out of 10 times. But there is some sticky residue left on the phone's frame where it originally was adhered on. Clean that with rubbing alcohol and you can easily place the new backcover with pre-applied adhesive back on the frame. Then you should still have the water resistance .
Thank you for helping me while replacing the back glass. You helped me a lot. And followed your steps, I could do it. Thank you.

Does that get rid of the water resistance?

So if I remove the old adhesive completely to replace it with new, it's water resistant again? (Instead of putting new adhesive on top of old one.)
When you remove the old back cover the old adhesive will stay stuck on that part 9 out of 10 times. But there is some sticky residue left on the phone's frame where it originally was adhered on. Super helpful thx
5:56 I guess they never miss
The back glass on my v30 is totally shattered I don't think this method will work for mine any suggestions
Don Alber I'm pretty sure all of the glass is stuck to some flexible peice so as long as you can heat it and pry it up I think it should all come off.
The back part is compatible with
lg v30 with lg v35 ThinQ
What is the difference between lg V30 and V35 ?? cover, frame and screen its the same ? Thanks.
No have both. Got the wrong info from somewhere so I ordered lg v35 screen replacement for lg v30 and doesn't work.
Ouch.
You should rename this video to "LG V30: How NOT to replace BACK GLASS"
