Honorable mention: the power of friendship and/or love in G Gundam. This let's the gundam power up to whatever power level it needs to defeat the enemy of the day
And you know unless there's some cosmic-level bullshittery explanation to it, knowing that the faster you charge a battery, the more it affects its maximum life span... I'd bet money they had to just flat out rip the batteries out and put new ones in after that instant burst to 100%.
@@InvokeZero note to mechanics: if your cosmic era mobile suit has wider gaps in the armor than usual, hail bridge for an emergency landing or ditch that fire hazard immediately...
I love the GN Drives - a semi-perpetual engine that can provide Celestial Being Gundams lots of power as long as they're not pushed to their limits. And it took Celestial Being's Jupiter expedition 20 years to make five of them before sending them to the organization and taking themselves out to protect the secrets of the GN Drive during 200 years of planning and building up their strength until Exia's public debut to the world.
But also highly unrealistic in terms of how technology usually progresses, conflicts in interest between celestial members. Like how the technology kept hidden, I don't buy it. But I gotta give praise to the 00 world builder. They managed to build a story where gn drive tech is well guarded to point it's hard to make loopholes to formulate an argument against it and all I can say is I hated gn drive tech. The way I see it is this, imagine the og Gundam series with Xi and Penelope Gundam equipped with minovsky flight system running around. This is my take on it. you might disagree with it and I'll take it.
@Graymeyne That's actually a plot point. They had several moles developing mass-produced gn tech in secret before giving it to the world at large that in only four years, everyone had a gn drive. Tau drives are incomplete as the information to make a td blanket is manually handed down to each head engineer so they can make repairs. By 2307 only Ian Vasti knows how to make a true drive, information passed to his apprentice Sherilyn Hyde in 2308 in the event he may not survive Operation Fallen Angel.
@@jetblackangelX the way I remember it is, ribbons almark isn't a mole but a traitor and pseudo gn drive isn't made by the celestials but by the people who were working with ribbons. Also what I am talking about is in those years of perfect secrecy. 200 years (?) of gn drive tech development, no one manages to leak something about it. And after its development, only ribbons is the asshole enough who decided to "hey, would it be funny to.." creates pseudo gn drives, decided to fight celestial beings after they introduced themselves to the public. Like why now? And not during the drives production? I get that he still needs that one drive but still, ribbons could've usurped the celestials before there and there.
Aeolia wants to give the tech at a point where all humanity come into good terms. He doesn't want to use this original tech for another bloody battle in space, if you watch the post credit of Trailblazer
Also we have to see how it’s use progress during not just the series but also its side-stories… The power supply might be completely broken, but the capacity to make use of its advantages didn’t appear that long before the armed interventions… Heck it was even envisioned to start those with a version of Virtue that made use of physical projectile weapons
I would take the GN Drive even without the Trans-AM system. Infinite energy, infinite particles that can be utilized offensively, defensively or as thruster fuel, while also serving as a general purpose electronic warfare, and the drive itself is an omnidirectional propulsion system, and all of this comes in an incredibly compact package! It's just perfect!
The sound effects of the GN drives will always be iconic to me, Although turn A does deserves the top spot because its artificial black hole power source is insane and I love how this and the turn X are shrouded in complete mystery about where they came from and who built them.
Technically not true. The Turn A was built by humanity in the past. Turn X is non terrestrial in origins, BUT it's lore combined with later developments implied it is indeed human. Both the Turn X and Turn A need a Newtype to reach their full potential. And one of the Crossbone magazines reveals that Judau lived to rohl_the time of Victory, and gathered as many Newtypes as he possibly could into a colony that they had converted into a generation ship. They then proceeded to tell everybody to go screw themselves and left for the stars to where they wouldn't be used as weapons or batteries for weapons.
@@nobleX001 The Turn A's nanomachines are capable of a devastating attack known as the "Moonlight Butterfly", named after the visual appearance of the attack. These nanomachines have the ability to disintegrate all matter, including artificial objects and organic materials. the turn A literally sent earth back to the stone age
You forgot to add that GN Drives don’t have to just power their suits. Like Ahab Reactors, you can plug a Gundam unto your ship and give it Trans Am as happened in 00. Its why I just love how cool and versitle the GN drive is. Heck, you don’t even need the drive itself. You can just use the GN particles to power a limited battery too if you cant spare the drive. Its sooooo cool
I've seen Turn A's black hole reactor been referred to as a Degeneracy Reactor, though it's the same thing. One thing worth noting that it being very small is why Turn A has all the space in the chest for high-powered munitions. Also fun fact, but the theoretical concept of powering a MS via a black hole has been speculated about all the way back in UC, though only in the sense of being something absolutely unreasonable and crazy.
I assume you meant space for the important stuff, such as livestock. Who needs munitions when you have have fresh steak on hand at any time. The thing that blows my mind though is when I first watched Turn A and they mentioned it was a black hole power system. My first thought was "That's kinda dumb." and went to Google (back when it was a good search engine) and turns out... It's theoretically possible and there is currently research into it. So we may see it someday.
Yea Degenerating reactor was the original name of Gunbuster's blackhole engine, the first black hole engine to feature in an anime, along with Turn A's, both were inspired by Arthur C Clarke's idea blackhole engines decades ago. Blackhole engines, nanomachines, frictionless superconductor joints etc. are all based on real world theoretical science. Turn A's charm is how over the top and yet grounded and realistic it is at the same time, the most powerful Gundam is theoretically possible in an extreme far future.
The Turn A Gundam is truly the most frightening washing machine out there... Kidding aside, I favor the GN Drives (or as I prefer to call them, Solar Furnaces) from a lote perspective because it allowed the Gundams from the 00 series to do a lot of crazy stuff (the very first episode even has a scene where the bystanders are in awe as to how the exia could fly while being in a pose that looked like it fell from a high shelf). And don't get me started on the Trans Am system being a reference to both the Nobel/Noble Gundam and Char Aznable. My only problem with the Solar Furnaces is that for Gunpla purposes, you need to get a LED unit for them (which are usually sold separately from the actual model kit).
I mean out of all the Gundams. The Turn A Gundam is the Gundam to end all Gundams if the Dark History Gundam Turn A is according Kakarot is said to be stronger than the one we already know.
@@BeyondDaX The Turn A we see is the original one that basically reset humanity. The nanomachines that make up the moonlight butterfly system are also responsible for repairing the unit, which is how it's able to survive to the time we see it.
@@BeyondDaX The series itself states that it's the original and explains how. The Turn A is responsible for destroying all technology and reverting humanity back to a pre-industrial revolution era with the moonlight butterfly system. It also doesn't just state, but shows in the final battle, how that same system can create a cocoon around the unit, allowing those nanomachines that make up the system to repair the unit.
And one thing I want to add about the GN Drive is that their output is constant. As in, they produce a specific quantity at any given time which is less than what the machine actually needs for normal function. This is why they have the GN Condensers which act as a buffer and fuel tanks to store the excess particles while the machine is idle to then be used when need be. And Trans-AM of course lifts the cap that is usually in place on how much the machine can use from the condensers at any given point to boost their performance. And when the tanks are empty, the mobile suit only has the slow trickle from the engine to rely on until the tanks have been refilled.
I think the photon batteries deserved a mention, they may not be infinite but they sure pack a punch with the things they can power and the amount of time they can power it
Yeah, it literally has anti matter reactions, 100% energy efficiency, They are made as batteries de to the monopoly of the action that makes the batteries, According to a character from the anime, they could be able to move the earth to Another star system using the photon energy
@@troloinkto I would put them around the same as the Gundam Unicorn/Banshee/Phenix suits. It may be a dumb guess but I think those suits are antimatter powered or at least a psuedo version.
@@BeyondDaX It's ironically funny that even in Unicorn, one of the engineers states that they really don't know how it works despite them having built it.
@@BeyondDaXwhen 2 destroy mode psychoframes collide, a vacuum appeared just like after banshee and Unicorn pull away in OVA 7, so to say created a blackhole therefore all you need is 2 synchronized Unicorns and create a blackhole which in turn creating the Turn A DHCGP
Next topic should be the most absurd colonies or space stations. For the best reactor for me would be either Ahab or GN reactor since both are semi perpetual reactors that is durable and has enough flair to justify its use on mobile suits. GN = Glitter drive!
Turn A is my favourite because its technology is based on real world science, hypothetical super engineered technology that were thought of decades ago. Blackhole engines and nanomachines have been hypothetical technologies since the days of Arthur C Clarke. Turn A's charm is how over the top and yet grounded and realistic it is at the same time, the most powerful Gundam is theoretically possible in an extreme far future.
The Turn-A's reactor is flat out unrivaled. Would LOVE to see it in action going all out. The Minovsky reactor is what got it all started though. Not actually surprised at the power potential of the twin GN Drive system.
What I love about th GN Drives is... Everything honestly. The Gundam 00 makers went as far as describing how it works almost completely. It looks beautiful with the GN Particles emitted and the sound is easily recognizable.
GN drives are my favourite without question, but it does make me wonder if there’ll be a system that could potentially create energy out of nothing in a future series.
Wait, I thought the M-Particles was used to keep the containment field to keep the reaction contained? It was using the particle in lieu of magnetic containment that they were able to miniaturize the reactor. And, yeah, the Unicorns, its not the reactor, its the freaking newtype pilot and assisting psychoframe. Also, you left out the inertial dampening features of the GN Drives and the Ahab Reaction also have that ability, IIRC. I go with the GN Drives. They also turn people into Innovators.
I'm just gonna say the deuterion engine is my favorite. Especially how feasible it is with modern day technology. We have the zues nuclear reactor that's really compact and we also have ARCHAX, that japanese mobile armor/suit like thing that's being sold for 3 million dollars. Now... Let's double the ARCHAX size and fit that reactor inside XD
While we could make and power something similar to a mobile suit with modern technology, the failing point is the moving parts. Look at the Walking Gundam in Japan and you'll see the limitations with current metals and functional joint technology. Once something stronger is invented that could hold up to the stresses of motion that mimic the human body on that scale, we'll probably see something similar to or just strait up mobile suits created.
@@kivulifenrir I highly doubt the practicality of bipedal units in real life. There are way too many hurdles still. But that thing I mentioned is more like a mobile worker or sort than anything. Mobile armor and worker type units, I can see it happening in the next 10 to 15 years or so, but actual mobile suits... we are still far off.
Personally I love the Ahab reactor. The combination of artificial gravity with the effectiveness of Nanolaminate Armor substantially changes the look and feel of the the Post Disaster universe -- from Mobile Suit to spaceships and colonies. The irony of these technological advancements leading to an age where medieval weapons are suddenly viable again is very Dune-esque. I also love the way they depict Ahab Waves as having this instantaneous EMP effect, not only does it make the Ahab reactor feel more real but it shapes the kinds of places you can have military bases and stage battles. It's good worldbuilding all-around.
Definitely GN Drives are my favorite, I've been thinking of a Trans-Am equipped suit that has GN condensers to be used after Trans-Am to enable it to fight back while the drive replenishes particles.
tbh, i always like the concept of power supply in gundam seed. it always makes sense practically for me. the Strike have soo many features that drain the power so easily, that's why the sword backpack has it's own battery, and the Launcher backpack have it's own battery on the cannon. that's also why Strike was more efficient with aile backpack, since it's boost it's speed and not draining the battery too much. while a high perfomance machine like freedom that blast beam like there's no f**king tmr, definitely need a rly high output power supply. so what's the solution? a nuclear power mobile suit ofc.
I personally think G-Reco Photon Battery could be up there with the crazy weaponry it could powered like Photon Torpedo's antimatter and Moonlight Butterfly It just no one in the series and IRL knew how it work so it hard to have an actual measure
One mild bit of pushback: The minovsky particle field wouldn't keep the reaction going forever, it would simply sustain it so long as there was viable He-3 fuel. Minovsky particles could be used to form lattices in a magnetic field, and would repel each other in ways that don't necessarily make sense magnetically, as well as forming lattices on their own with no help until they dispersed. This was used to contain superheated Helium 3 fuel to sustain fusion. The early Minovsky-Ionesco reactors were "conventional" fusion reactors, but they led to the discovery of the Minvosky particle. That magnetic lattice created by the minovsky particle that the He-3 reaction created as a mystery byproduct was used to create a much smaller, much more compact plasma containment. This same principle was also used to contain plasma in a fixed "Blade", such as a beam sabre(this is also why beam sabres "clash", their minovksy fields are repelling each others' contained plasma), and to contain small and short lived magnetic containment systems for plasma shots accelerated through rotating magnetic coils, or, as you know them better, the Beam Rifle. The fact that these technologies rely on these minovsky lattices led to such developments as the I Field, which was simply a lattice of minovsky particles sustained by a machine's reaction power creating a potent magnetic field and holding those particles nearby until they were exhausted, and the Smart Beam Rifle, which would use the magnetic conductivity of a beam shot to bend the shot as much as 30 degrees mid-firing, creating a beam rifle that could shoot around corners. It also lead to, in the One Year War, the creation of Minvosky Dispersion warheads, built to blanket a space in minovsky particles, which would self-sustain a magnetic field until they dispersed fully, creating a blanket of space where beam weapons wouldn't work properly.
While the canonicity of the beam rifle's up in the air, we know the Turn A is capable of teleportation-like speeds, powering a Psycommu System strong enough to cause Axis Shocks/Psycho Fields on level of REVERTING THE PLANET'S TIME, and the thing is BASICALLY SENTIENT. That requires a HOLY FUCKTON of a power output. Light of Life Special is a fuckin' Trip.
I do wish we see just how strong the Turn A was cause Loran can't use it to it's fullest, it's weaponry turned to dust and the Turn A itself was 2000 years old and yet it was still at the top.
Y'know moment we know for certain it's upper limits, some salty director will try to one-up it like the 00 Crew tried to do with the 00R/Q. Tried, because LoL came along and reminded us "Hey remember the Unicorn? Wanna see us make it look like a bloody casual?"
@@katomamundara8106 Iirc Correct Century is the ending of all Gundam timelines even the ones that came after it so safe to say even if they try to say a machine is stronger than Turn A it was still either Destroyed during Dark History or was lost/locked away before it happened.

IIRC the deuterion engines used by the Legend and Destiny were different from the ones used in the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice due to how they drew energy from the engine. the Legend and Destiny drew energy from a battery that drew energy from the reactor - basically a self-charging battery while the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice drew energy directly from the reactor with the battery acting as an emergency back-up incase something went wrong.
Yeah, the Destiny and Legend Gundams were designed to sorta comply with the Junius Treaty, hence the Hyper Deuterion Engine being used to replenish the battery. The Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice, on the other hand, did not need to comply, as Terminal is defying the Junius Treaty by existing, hence the direct feed from the Hyper Deuterion Engine. Didn't know the Freedom and Justice upgrades had backup batteries, though.
The reason why almost all gundam frames in IBO uses melee weapons to fight was because of the infinite energy provided by their double Ahab reactors, making them able to fight for non-stop (if the pilot is very reckless or being like Ein). Also one more thing about Ahab reactors: infinite electricity when plugged into any base, saving up ton of money from the electricity bills 💀
Well no, the reason melee is such a big deal is that Nanolaminate makes Ahab-particle based weapons obsolete and in addition to that, serves as a coat of very strong ablative armour against kinetic penetrators ... So you either got to use big guns, shoot it A LOT, or get close.
I will die on the hill that the unicorn units would beat turn A. The whole green space magic would dismantle midnight butterfly because those are nanomachines(son) and the newtype power isnt and itll just turn back time and revert them into what they originally where. With a wave of a hand mind you.
Love the GN Drives so much! Such a cool and exciting concept for my favorite series of mobile suits! Funny you mention a Triple Drive system, though, since I once kitbashed some spare GN Drives I got from a 00 gunpla kit to the 1.5 Gundam to make a triple drive Gundam that I called the Trinity Gundam. Heck, even gave it a second Buster Rifle that I got from the leftover parts from a Reversible Gundam kit. Legit, this would be my gunpla I'd pilot if GBN was ever a thing.
My favorite would be the GN Drives. The particles flowing from them just look so beautiful IMHO. Plus, with the true GN Drives used by Celestial Being are pretty good as medical technology, being able to heal Louise Halevy's GN Tau poisoning and also providing a mental link between her and Saji (although the latter, if I remember right, wasn't as effective since Louise did try to strangle Saji before falling unconscious). Really, the GN Drives are surprisingly versatile but I do understand Celestial Being's justified paranoia in not sharing the tech given human nature and whatnot.
I still think it’s hilarious in the 00 movie that everyone in the theater looks like the movie is the coolest things ever And Saij is just there sipping his drink cuz he was literally getting piggybacked on a giant mechs suit while riding a spaceship in the real deal war
I think the reactor on the unicorn was probably similar or slightly stronger than its reported output in unicorn mode, but when the ntd was active, the psycoframe is able to turn thoughts into kinetic energy, therefore allowing a weak reactor to have performance way way higher than expected. That is probably the origin of "unmeasurable" as well, since the psycoframe reacts differently based on the pilot.
For the twin drive system (the original "flawed" one) i think that at one point, Ian Vahsti mentioned that the problem was a framing error when synchronizing the GN drives. In that case I don't understand if that was an error that could only be resolved with the 0-Raiser or if it was an error that could be resolved without the need for the 0-Raiser and leave it only as a power-up unit.
They did state it was the whole reason the 0 Raiser was built. It was made as it was for the purpose of adding in the essential additional hardware needed to correct the problem, as well as add additional weaponry given that the amount of hardware needed constituted the size of a fighter craft.
I also like that the ahab reactor lessens the g force felt by the pilots so it kinda make sense why the gundams can full throttle moving and evading fast when fighting an MA
My top 3 will be like this... 1. DGHCP 2. Ahab Reactor 3. GN drive Why I put GN drive below Ahab Reactor when both supplies almost unlimited energy? Simple, GN drive lose to Ahab Reactor in term of DURABILITY. Overworked GN drive to the limit will result in it's destruction. Even the twin system one. BUT.... Ahab Reactor have no fear of that. With it's indestructible trait you can work Ahab Reactor to the limit without fear. That includes the twin type who boast to have far superior output than a single one. The only problem you will face is the heat from Ahab Reactor 🗿
@@yujilee112 wouldnt aggressive use of Trans Am without the fine adjustment of the twin GN drive the upgraded 00 and Quant use eventually kill its pilot? Either by it exploding or the possibility of the misalligning of it poisoning the pilot.
I assume that the Unicorn NT-D power output is some combination of Minovsky Physics but also Psychoframe Light BS which is why it seems to be limitless. Which, as a question, do they ever explain the limits of Psychoframe? I always liked the idea that in CCA we had full psycommu-framed MS that could move and react at the speed of thought, but the little piece of Psychoframe that Chan held onto and participated in the "Miracle" that Amuro and Char pulled off always seemed like a Deus Ex kinda device.
According to Fukui, Unicorn is practically a Mary Sue Mech that can end an entire universe if it wants to basically. So no, it's simply bs with no limits
Pretty sure psychoframe is only limited by the will of the newtype soul making use of it. What Banagher wants, Banagher gets (disassembly of enemy suits, for example). Rita inside the Phenex probably wanted to never be caught, hence the near speed of light, only "allowing" Jonah near. Lorewise, it's partly the reason why it was "banned" and psychoframe tech hidden away - the law defying space magic done by Unicorn 01 (and 02) during Laplace Incident was too dangerous to fall in the wrong hands
CCA's Nu and Sazabi only had psychoframe around the cockpit. And yet that alone was enough to resonate not only with each other, but also with all human beings on Earth and channel their will to push back Axis. Only to be expected an entire MS made out of it will have exponentially more powerful effects and be even more unpredictable.
Psychoframe tech is literally magic. Its research and limits are never really born out for a number of reasons, the biggest of which is a concentrated effort to "put the genie back in the bottle." The power and abilities simply cannot be measured with any accuracy with the scientific tools available and developing them could be disastrous in the way of non-causal interaction. So to prevent a Dr. Who like time war the tech and ideas around it were shelved, notes destroyed, and metho(s) of manufacture and integration obfuscated.
100% willing to wager that the Unicorn's generator relied on some form of Psychoframe space-magic to augment the generator output. Nothing else comes close to explaining how a MS can have the energy required to nearly hit anywhere near light speed. Also no, they never explained the limits of Psychoframe's power or abilities. I've come to take the Narrative movie as Bandai's way of shoehorning Psychoframe out of the UC timeline (since it doesn't really exist after it) - and being the easy way out, basically admitting, "This stuff is way beyond human understanding, and shouldn't exist."
This reminds me, I was rewatching some of your older Top 5 videos, & was curious if you could do "5 More Most Brutal Deaths" in Gundam? Or if people have a sense of humor, "Top 5 Unintentionally Funny" or "Most Satisfying Deaths". I ask because GWitch & turning that guy into ketchup/catsup deserves some sort of mention.
I dont know if its been dome on this channel but hope and be thrilled to see video on the top 10 strongest gundam/mobile suit in franchise and top 10 strongest protagonist pilots
I too personally prefer the GN Drives over most others, aside from how unique it makes the mobile suits look while active, but if you just ask my brain, it'd probably say something simple like, "GN Drive good. It spews out kewl sparkly sparkles and Trans-Am makes Gundams go BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!"
Having first been exposed to the GN Drives via games and the Build Divers anime, I was shocked to find out that they're actually interesting and had genuine drawbacks that Build Divers instead completely ignored for the sake of "CONSEQUENCE FREE POWER UP GOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Even in build build divers the GN Drive still had it's problems, the 00 Diver never could use the Trans-Am without malfunctioning Ace was just a way to compensate the lack of Trans-Am, Sky is the one that finally has it's Trans-Am working
I think the Unicorn units' nearly uncomprehensible capabilities have more to do with psychoframe being capable of bending reality, than with the construction of the more mundane components.
Yeah the GN drives are my favorite as well, not only for the same reasons as you like them but as well as they also look cool as crap, not just the art of them but also the flight from them, and they are also the key to how to turn into a true innovator.
In terms of secondary effects, I'd have to give it to the GN drives and derivatives. But the classic Minovsky reactor would be a basic inclusion in any machine I were to try and build. I'm currently working on a kit bash from a Kshatriya, Psycho Gundam, a supernova Heavyarms and a pair of 00s. The GN drives are small enough to mount on the wing binders without looking too out of place.
Yea gn drive for days. mostly because we know quite a bit about it. Edit: it may have unlimited supply, but the generation rate of one drive does not offset the usage of it, thus we have condensors.
The Turn A Gundam's being powered by a "artificial black hole " sorta reminds me of (in "Star Trek:The Next Generation") the Romulan Warbird D'deridex class ship powered by a forced quantum singularity, a sorta artificial black hole In either case, how can one prevent something like that from going haywire and engulfing everything around it? If it got cut in half (like when Amuro cut a Zaku in half, resulting in a small (nuclear?) explosion) would any containment system be completely compromised with fatal results to anyone nearby?
no. turn a's alloy can't even be dent nor cut. a nuke can't even phase that gundam. its hand grenades are even nukes. plus the pilot can technically become immortal because it has nano machines that protects and heals the pilot. and even if the turn a has a damage and that's a big if, its nano machine will fix it in seconds.
Thanks for the info So far I"ve seen a handful of Turn A Gundam episodes:don't know if that information was in any of the episodes or if it was in any published material by Sunrise/Bandi/Tomino
the real generators is really small and inside turn a frame is actually hollow it's moving by using i-field manipulation like how you control puppets. this thing is not machinery robot , it's just walking (or floating) engine in ms form. (literally moving black hole)
The GCPDH is sounds crazy. I wish we got to learn way more about. And what the true hidden capabilities of the Turn A were, despite knowing what untold destruction it could potentially bring
@@kivulifenrir And it did so at, IIRC, only 20% of its power. I recall reading somewhere (forget where) that at 100%, the Moonlight Butterfly could cover everything from Earth to Jupiter.
As you can see from my avatar, I like the GN Drive best. I even take the verniers from models I like and install them 'backwards' to convert them into micro drives. They're powerful, compact, and if you up the purity, they can enable self-repair or select-distance jumping via Quantization. In my opinion only a Unicorn-series can do what a quad-core or higher GN-driven gundam can do. And you need at least that much to get protection from the Turn-A's _Moonlight Butterfly_ .
"If you don't have the energy to power them, they're (the weapons) are useless" Yep; this has been demonstrated before. The reactors of the failed attempt at mass production Double Zeta Gundams were just not adequate enough for the very energy intensive head cannon. Similar case with one of Gelgoog's prototypes; R-2S Zaku Late Production type. Except it needed a buddy mobile suit to fire the built in cannons at all. Then there's the issue of Hi-Zack not having more than one beam weapon at a time. Though ReZeon did patch that issue with their improved model.
Let's do a Top 5 shocking deaths of mobile suit pilots outside their mobile suits. Like Lafter Frankland getting assasinated. Or Elan Ceres 4 getting baked.
Trans Am = Char Mode And nobody is convincing me otherwise. 😉 (I really do love Trans Am, though) And I had no idea how incredible Ahab Reactors were. I've seen all of IBO, but clearly, my understanding of its technology has been less than complete until today. So yeah. Nice video! Looking forward to the next one.
the fact the mansa had more output then the kshatryia which was basically a successor to it is nuts but the mansa is basically a small mobile armor not so much a mobile suit the geymalk is surprisingly only 8-9k output wise despite being a floating beam cannon battery w funnels which surprised me
I have to agree with the GN and I especially love how trans-Am was not a get out of jail free card there was always a little bit of suspense with its use because if you run out in mid-battle it's practically a death sentence
A triple GN drive Gundam does exist, in the form of the Raphael Gundam with its triple GN drive Tau's. Sadly it doesn't have the same capabilities due to using the Tau drives instead of true GN drives.
Tau drives can sync up for twin drive as Reborns Gundam had the system installed. Raphael while it had multiple drives didn’t synchronize them for a triple drive system
If i recall correctly the power output of the Unicorn in destroy mode was boosted so high because of the Psyco-frame, and the user's energy it channels, not because of the reactor. So the Unicorns max output is because of Newtype shenanigans.
It's the GN drives for me. It's better than a nuclear reactor while being a clean source of energy and won't turn the area into a nuclear disaster when shot down. It eliminates the need for thrusters to be installed on your mobile suits therefore freeing up space for more weapons and such. If I can have a GN drive installed in my house, I can turn my AC on and every electronic appliance I have all day everyday, not worry about electric bills and still won't consume 1% off the GN drive's power. Now if I had it on my car...
Honorable Mention to the Greipe from Wing's Side Story: G-Unit. For absolute unknown reasons, it has 2.5x the energy output of the V2 and is currently the 3rd highest in that field only under the Turn A and Turn X. However I understand why it isn't included, because we don't know what its power supply is, it just is that strong for some reason.
I never knew Turn A was that powerful. They really need to make a prequel to Turn A. Like what the heck did that suit faced off against during the Dark history times. That's insane 😮
The premise of why the Earth is back to an Industrial Revolution state is due to the Turn A resetting humanity essentially. It used the moonlight butterfly system to destroy all the advanced tech, sat down where it ended up, and the nanomachines that make up the moonlight butterfly system repair/preserve the main body of the mobile suit to the time where we see it in the series.
my concept of perfect gundam energy system: Gundam frame's twin AHAB reactor for main power the mobile suit, reinforced with a single unit of GN Drive as energy weapon's power source and thruster, coupled with Psychoframe (obviously with NT-D in mind) between 2 generators... a single Rifle Bit can do damages equal to a Buster Rifle... and a spraygun sized railgun could be deadly just like a full sized Dainsleif.
GN Drive, Artificial Blackhole, & Ahab are the best generators in the Gundam Series. Actually along with Permet Reactor from Witch from Mercury, they are the best. GN Drive with some tweaking from Plavsky Particle technique by Iori and his friends, Artificial Black Hole can power space drive to warp, and along with Ahab can generate more electricity for powering Tau Drives or other plasma/laser weapons, and Permet can let pilot be Augmented Human like AC to hack other technologies

I hope you make a theory video for Gundam Requiem for Vengeance. I've been able to figure out a few things. The Gundam in the upcoming anime may be partly based on the Gundam Ground Type, may have the model number RX-78EX, seems to use the RX-77-2 Guncannon's beam rifle, has three backpack mounted beam sabers along with a backpack mini-gatling gun, and belongs to the EFGF. I've also noticed the Zakus used by the Red Wolf Team may also have Pile Bunkers on their shields, judging from how they look. That's sadly all I've been able to figure out. But I bet you could get way more info.
Only thing missing from the cover pic is Terry Crews face photo-shopped right on top of the Turn A Gundam's head, and some exclamation marks after the word 'power'.
My favorite was the satelite system used by the Gundam X. Apparently, rectenas are real life things. They convert microwaves into electrical power. I guess it doesn't count if the mobile suit's power generator is external.
not sure why, but when you mentioned the Ahab reactors being regulated by gjallarhorn, it reminded me of the overseer faction in Last Exile, (spoilers) i forget what any of the names were, but they were basically war profiteering and pulling a hunger games on the two halves of the colony world, influencing a civil war to go on indefinitely, providing grav drive cores for both sides sky ships and holding the power to quite literally yoink them from the engine rooms at any time, dissengaging from the frame and basically dropping the rest of the ship onto the crags below
Well, with Gjallahorn the sitch was a little different. When they got founded and laid down their laws, humanity had just ended a war of mechanized genocide, perpetrated by automated monstrosities that had been powered by Ahab Reactors. It's entirely understandable why Gjallahorn would want to keep a *VERY* close eye on who, where and for what those new reactors got used.
We can call the Turn A Gundam's power source as the power of the mustache. I like it, but the Minovsky reactor theme has its sci-fi feel a bit more realistic, it's serious stuff 🚬
Honestly the peak of minofsky reactor technology was the Psi reactors from Gaia gear in the early uc200s in the series of the same name Basically the idea is since reactors in general gives off minofsky particles why not make one that can passively absorb minofsky particles to improve output and complement other reactors of the same type hence why the Gaia gear alpha had 4 installed for around 14,000kw The man machine that weaponized that concept was the Gids geese that can use its M barrier in conjunction with it's improved psi cycle reactor can also absorb the minofsky particles from hostile beam shot to recharge the reactor and all weapons and systems on board giving it potentially indefinite operation time in combat
I like how most of these are represented in Gundam Breaker 3's orange abilities as the best of whatever stat they increase. In fact, Ahab Reactor and DHGCP do the same thing of increasing your suit's thruster capacity by 5000 points.
DHGCP and Ahab Reactor has the Same Amount ??? The Devs Prioritized Balancing rather than what they are in Reality. Tho, they are Gunplas after all, so cant really be Accurate to the Real Deal.

Turn A: yes, it's a peaceful life
Being a Harmless Washing Machine is always better than being a InterGalactic Warfare Machine

That black hole powered washing machine comes with blow-dry option, and it's also a barn! Respect!

I love ibo technology, it went so forward that it loops around and goes back to oga bonga big metal stick
I think the photon batteries deserved a mention, they may not be infinite but they sure pack a punch with the things they can power and the amount of time they can power it
Yeah, it literally has anti matter reactions, 100% energy efficiency,
They are made as batteries de to the monopoly of the action that makes the batteries,

For the best reactor for me would be either Ahab or GN reactor since both are semi perpetual reactors that is durable and has enough flair to justify its use on mobile suits.

Another banger haha who knew talking about reactors would be so engaging
What I love about th GN Drives is... Everything honestly.
The Gundam 00 makers went as far as describing how it works almost completely. It looks beautiful with the GN Particles emitted and the sound is easily recognizable.
GN drives are my favourite without question, but it does make me wonder if there’ll be a system that could potentially create energy out of nothing in a future series.
That's more of a Super Robot thing
Wait, I thought the M-Particles was used to keep the containment field to keep the reaction contained? It was using the particle in lieu of magnetic containment that they were able to miniaturize the reactor. And, yeah, the Unicorns, its not the reactor, its the freaking newtype pilot and assisting psychoframe.
Also, you left out the inertial dampening features of the GN Drives and the Ahab Reaction also have that ability, IIRC.
I go with the GN Drives. They also turn people into Innovators.
Genuinely love the GN Drive and Gundam 00 overall, the sound of it whirring is so soothing
And that "fairy twinkle" sound when used at full power, (watch the first use of Trans-Am Burst in 00 S2 EP24)
You know its about to go crazy when in the lowest place is a nuclear reactor
I personally think G-Reco Photon Battery could be up there with the crazy weaponry it could powered like Photon Torpedo's antimatter and Moonlight Butterfly
It just no one in the series and IRL knew how it work so it hard to have an actual measure

Legit, this would be my gunpla I'd pilot if GBN was ever a thing.
i did something similar with the Reborns and 1.5 and called it Light Bringer
My favorite would be the GN Drives. The particles flowing from them just look so beautiful IMHO. Plus, with the true GN Drives used by Celestial Being are pretty good as medical technology, being able to heal Louise Halevy's GN Tau poisoning and also providing a mental link between her and Saji (although the latter, if I remember right, wasn't as effective since Louise did try to strangle Saji before falling unconscious).
Really, the GN Drives are surprisingly versatile but I do understand Celestial Being's justified paranoia in not sharing the tech given human nature and whatnot.
that's why i never liked 00 gundam. the act of the celestial beings are so dumb.

I still think it’s hilarious in the 00 movie that everyone in the theater looks like the movie is the coolest things ever
And Saij is just there sipping his drink cuz he was literally getting piggybacked on a giant mechs suit while riding a spaceship in the real deal war
Always the count down to the world's strongest washing machine. Love it.

2. Ahab Reactor
3. GN drive
Why I put GN drive below Ahab Reactor when both supplies almost unlimited energy?
Simple, GN drive lose to Ahab Reactor in term of DURABILITY.
Overworked GN drive to the limit will result in it's destruction.

Ahab Reactor have no fear of that.
With it's indestructible trait you can work Ahab Reactor to the limit without fear.

I too personally prefer the GN Drives over most others, aside from how unique it makes the mobile suits look while active, but if you just ask my brain, it'd probably say something simple like, "GN Drive good. It spews out kewl sparkly sparkles and Trans-Am makes Gundams go BRRRRRRRRRR!!!!"
Unicorn one is so cool, also love those designs pictures.
Early on there were genuine drawbacks though Riku did overcome them fairly soon after
Even in build build divers the GN Drive still had it's problems, the 00 Diver never could use the Trans-Am without malfunctioning Ace was just a way to compensate the lack of Trans-Am, Sky is the one that finally has it's Trans-Am working
I think the Unicorn units' nearly uncomprehensible capabilities have more to do with psychoframe being capable of bending reality, than with the construction of the more mundane components.
noo wayyy Gundam reactors episode dude soo cool
The Turn A Gundam's being powered by a "artificial black hole " sorta reminds me of (in "Star Trek:The Next Generation") the Romulan Warbird D'deridex class ship powered by a forced quantum singularity, a sorta artificial black hole
In either case, how can one prevent something like that from going haywire and engulfing everything around it?
If it got cut in half (like when Amuro cut a Zaku in half, resulting in a small (nuclear?) explosion) would any containment system be completely compromised with fatal results to anyone nearby?
no. turn a's alloy can't even be dent nor cut. a nuke can't even phase that gundam. its hand grenades are even nukes. plus the pilot can technically become immortal because it has nano machines that protects and heals the pilot. and even if the turn a has a damage and that's a big if, its nano machine will fix it in seconds.
Thanks for the info
So far I"ve seen a handful of Turn A Gundam episodes:don't know if that information was in any of the episodes or if it was in any published material by Sunrise/Bandi/Tomino
@@danielreed3666 magazines.
the real generators is really small and inside turn a frame is actually hollow it's moving by using i-field manipulation like how you control puppets. this thing is not machinery robot , it's just walking (or floating) engine in ms form. (literally moving black hole)
The GCPDH is sounds crazy. I wish we got to learn way more about. And what the true hidden capabilities of the Turn A were, despite knowing what untold destruction it could potentially bring
It would make even the Gundam Phenix and all of the Gundam 00 gundams look like Gunpla from the sheer potential it may have.
Considering the Turn A reset humanity essentially, it's scarily powerful with what it could (potentially) do.
@@kivulifenrir
And it did so at, IIRC, only 20% of its power. I recall reading somewhere (forget where) that at 100%, the Moonlight Butterfly could cover everything from Earth to Jupiter.
@@HalfDemonInuyasha Then you remember well
Washing machine turn A never gets old😊
As you can see from my avatar, I like the GN Drive best.
Love these videos :)
You need to either make another shields, video or do one about different types of funnels
I just realised that the Trans Am system of the GN drives is pretty much the Haste spell from DnD...
I love how most mobile suits has a pretty normal engine and then you got Turn A that literally powered by a freaking black hole.
"If you don't have the energy to power them, they're (the weapons) are useless"
Yep; this has been demonstrated before.
Trans Am = Char Mode
And nobody is convincing me otherwise. 😉 (I really do love Trans Am, though)
And I had no idea how incredible Ahab Reactors were. I've seen all of IBO, but clearly, my understanding of its technology has been less than complete until today.
So yeah. Nice video! Looking forward to the next one.
the fact the mansa had more output then the kshatryia which was basically a successor to it is nuts but the mansa is basically a small mobile armor not so much a mobile suit
the geymalk is surprisingly only 8-9k output wise despite being a floating beam cannon battery w funnels which surprised me
Think whatever the hell they were using to power the Mobile Fighters in G Gundam deserved an honorable mention.
I have to agree with the GN and I especially love how trans-Am was not a get out of jail free card there was always a little bit of suspense with its use because if you run out in mid-battle it's practically a death sentence
The hyperdeuterion engine is my favorite, I like how SEED had more grounded power sources.
Can't get much better than a virtually infinite power source.
I may be biased, but there's no real proof of that.
“Wow that’s a cool Gundam you have there what reactor does it use?”
“Oh it uses a artificial black hole generator”
“Ok so a ……. WHAT”
If i recall correctly the power output of the Unicorn in destroy mode was boosted so high because of the Psyco-frame, and the user's energy it channels, not because of the reactor.
Honorable mention to the Photon power of the G-Self; including the G-Self Perfect.
I never knew Turn A was that powerful. They really need to make a prequel to Turn A. Like what the heck did that suit faced off against during the Dark history times. That's insane 😮
That's something only Tomino can create if he ever comes back to it.
I love the idea of BLACK HOLE POWERED WASHING MACHINE!
Psychoframe basically its own power
Sakibure has more refined GN Drive developed from 00 Qan[T] 50 years later after good terms with Celestial Being
my concept of perfect gundam energy system: Gundam frame's twin AHAB reactor for main power the mobile suit, reinforced with a single unit of GN Drive as energy weapon's power source and thruster, coupled with Psychoframe (obviously with NT-D in mind) between 2 generators...
a single Rifle Bit can do damages equal to a Buster Rifle... and a spraygun sized railgun could be deadly just like a full sized Dainsleif.
Permet can only Let Pilots to Hack other Technologies with Permet. Not other Technologies without Permet

what do you think about photon battery systems like in G Reco? the mystery behind them always appealed to me and after rewatching on Gundaminfo i was reminded how the tech is basically on the path to Turn A and the Black History. Any theories from you, @kakarot197?
hey i have a question in gundam wing if I am not mistaken mobile suits in that time line are powered by ultra compact fusion reactor.
if they explode should they immit some kind of radiation like chenobly style radiation?
Turn-A gundam: the most dangerous gundam with an artificial black hole used as a washing machine
Only thing missing from the cover pic is Terry Crews face photo-shopped right on top of the Turn A Gundam's head, and some exclamation marks after the word 'power'.

*Meanwhile Char* : "It's not powerful if it can't hit me"
My favorite was the satelite system used by the Gundam X.
Is Turn A gundam's artificial black hole reactor the same as Black Hole Engine in Super Robot Wars Huckebein?
My favorite is the GN drive because it is insanely versatile, and a semi-perpetual motion reactor (with pseudo batteries, known as GN condensers).
Honestly the peak of minofsky reactor technology was the Psi reactors from Gaia gear in the early uc200s in the series of the same name
Basically the idea is since reactors in general gives off minofsky particles why not make one that can passively absorb minofsky particles to improve output and complement other reactors of the same type hence why the Gaia gear alpha had 4 installed for around 14,000kw
The man machine that weaponized that concept was the Gids geese that can use its M barrier in conjunction with it's improved psi cycle reactor can also absorb the minofsky particles from hostile beam shot to recharge the reactor and all weapons and systems on board giving it potentially indefinite operation time in combat
So they put a turbo compressor for the minovsky reactor!? (Minovsky particles instead of air! XD).
@@soragranda I guess so
Yeah I kinda love the gn-drive too. They give enormous amount of energy, but they were also the catalyst for human to evolved into innovator.
I like the msic during the Unicorn segment.
It's all fun and games until an Ide powered GM screams at you from a distance
I think if we take what narrative said, I think it using the psycho frame to time loop the generator. Also I think in universe there just compensating for dwindling resources too.
