I undertand that Rick Steves Travel is a leftwing outfit, but I would at least appreciate a little effort to be unbiased on the subject.

Thanks for highlighting our wee country. You do not have to change Northern Irish notes for english or scottish when travelling to the mainland or vice versa. Pound sterling is one currency. Anyway most places take card/contactless payment these days. The only thing you might need cash for are taxis. Bangers and mash is English. If you want something unique to NI order an ulster fry for breakfast.
