sanity is being real - not blindly positive - "anybody" cannot "do it" - it takes solid intelligence, a high social intelligence, a high emotional intelligence, a lot of common sense, great energy, and some fortunate stars blowing your way in the mix - and on top of all that, the timing has to be right, perhaps even providential
so many negative people on here! I first thing to do is get in the right frame of mind, have a clear vision and buisness plan, take enormous action to make it work and don't ever ever EVER GIVE UP! #driventosucceed
Same 'ole chit chat. I've had several businesses (over a 20yr period) that eventually crashed, but I can't stop from pushing forward to get ahead by learning the lessons that need to me learned!! But I really hate the false promises that a lot of rich people make on a daily basis. about wanting to help the entrepreneurial masses get richer!
I love duncans attitude towards making money. He doesn't say dont start a business or it's to risky he says anyone can do it and he tells you it's easy
Bloody hard work though wasn't it Duncan? Long hours and hard headed decisions to make to keep it all moving in the right direction but the pay off can be huge.
The government and its obsession with regulations make it increasingly difficult for any business start up. Employing people is a nightmare, so many successful 'one mand band' businesses which could expand and create employment opportunities decide not too because of the ridiculous amount of red tape. Add to this the banks are very reluctant to loan money to people for new business start ups. Add to this legislation such as Health and safety, Licensing. Qualifications required. Insurances etc etc. It ends up that any business owner has to spend more time ticking legislative tick boxes than actually being able to devote to the business. I would actually argue that our present system is averse to fledgling businesses.
you cant get anywhere in life if your too scared to take a risk, if you think like that you will be stuck in a plain old job all of your life. i am scared about what the future holds so i have decided to start my own "home buisness". i will start small and progress on to bigger things. MONEY MAKES MONEY dont be afraid to make you life a success !!!!
it was easier to start a business back then when it was all new and available now everything is just hogged up by people with money in the first place.
Plenty of people in this so-called "movement" had the opportunity to speak for themselves when the media came asking and independently through social media and there's just no coherent justification for what Occupy was trying to achieve or any identifiable ideas for change. Even sociological and media professionals who supported the movement couldn't come up with anything better than something along the lines of 'They know they're dissatisfied with things as they are, and isn't that enough?' No.
WHY are so few millionaires? MOST people who start a biz, as soon as they arrive at the 1st major roadblock give up... Here's a TIP: Don't just... start a business - find problems, pain points and base your business on those solutions, and you'll have a winner!
well done to duncan but the fact is, if everyone could do it and everyone did it, who would work in the businesses doing the miserable jobs? making it big involves luck, hard work and connections. the world simply cannot accomodate a population where everyone is successful. the only reason a person is rich is because most others are poor. wealth is relative. the rich and succesful need the poor to stay poor. if everyone was a millionaire, a pint of milk would cost a grand. welcome to capitalism. hope you make it
@fasmaniac Don't you understand? It's all about taking your life in your own hands. No one will make it for you. Duncan Bannatyne couldn't do it, even if he had a chance. Start small and be proud of what you do.
@Conceptskatemedia Yeah, and there's no corruption in the UK or Ireland. lmao Corruption's rampant all over the world. What do you think the Occupy movement's about?
1. I'm not a conservative. 2. You can call me names as many times as you like, you're the one who comes across as a half-wit. 3. Making up nifty little banner statistics life 99% versus 1% may be good marketing, but has no place in any logical and meaningful discourse.

Then the capital, know how, the ability to not get beaten by underhand tricks by competition etc. I am successful and I know I would never have got there without parent support and good fortune. Almost every self made millionaire or more story has a “small loan of a million dollars” element to it if you dig enough. Too many wealthy folk practice lying by omission (only telling the hard parts of their life and not the ones where they got massive help)

anyone can start a business but not everyone can make it successful
sure they can, only if they actually want to though

It's actually easy to start a business. The hard part is getting paid from it

I like what he says about "changing your life"...for some of us, it also means qualifying our past.
So the idea is...
1 have a good bank statement
2 borrow a mortgage to invest
3 then borrow again to expand
4 sell your business as fast as possible

I think its brilliant how duncan bannatyne says making 100m is easy in this current day and age with the resession and everything! LOL
How relevant is this recession now?

@Conceptskatemedia
Wrong, we determine everything in terms of English. We have the numbers, money, and power.
it was easier to start a business back then when it was all new and available now everything is just hogged up by people with money in the first place.
Yep. The band wagon catches on and then everyone's doing it
Spot on.
Does anyone knows more places where could I meet entrepreneurs in one place like seminars, exhibitions, any ideas ??? Cheers!

anyone can start a business but its extremley hard these people make it look easy when it isnt
They don't let you know about any crooked things they may have done to get where they are today.
Yep, most millionaires are pretty ruthless and have no problem screwing people to make money.
Its a matter of supply and demand. Get that right, and it will work out.
But what product are people demanding in a recession? Everything has changed.
great video, thank you for this one..
WHY are so few millionaires? MOST people who start a biz, as soon as they arrive at the 1st major roadblock give up...

Look at all you geniuses in the comments here giving advice you know nothing about
