    What he explained first is what everyone in the business world is failing to do. When you praise people flourish, just like a flower when you water it , it grows. =) That was really nice to hear.

      Right. They will quickly point out your faults but a thanks, telling you how well you're doing or encouragement is slow to come if it ever comes at all. It definitely makes you feel like an unwatered flower when YOU KNOW you're doing a great job.

    Very true from Richard Branson. My motto!! We all can achieve anything we set our minds to but action counts. Trying has never failed even when you do fail, don't give in! try again and again. Somewhere along the line you will achieve, whether young or old. I have not stopped trying even after everything has failed till now. Knowledge is a great thing. Learn from others who's made it and let it sink then keep it there and work on it.

    I admire this man so much. He has a kind heart but also has a great business sense. He really understands the individual customer's needs. This enables him to modify his business plan to conform to the consumer's needs. This is a win win scenario. Business is teamwork between the business owner and the customer. I would be very fortunate to have my ideas shared with such an insightful and humble and brilliant and successful business man with a genuine humility and love for mankind.

    This guy could put every one of his waking hours into 'trying to fail' and he'd still come up smelling roses. He simply doesn't know how to fail. Every single thing Branson's ever tried his hand at has worked splendidly. Every single thing he touches turns to gold... he'll be the first guy to operate sight seeing trips to the moon... I have no doubt about this at all. His advice is worth nothing to plodders like the rest of us... all this stuff is so easy for him to reel off... but it simply doesn't ring with ordinary folk like us. He literally is one in a billion.

    • @emotown1
      @emotown1 8 років тому +3

      +Yelling Elk He's intensely disliked by the English establishment 'mafia' and the media in the UK. Probably because he plays by his own principles, and still comes up trumps. A normal Englishman would _never_, even if his mother was choking to death, ask his bank manager to _leave_ his house omg! You do that, and these fuckers circle the wagons round. So, I like Branson - he's a straight arrow very much at odds with the establishment, and he's still successful.

    • @Bradgilliswhammyman
      @Bradgilliswhammyman 7 років тому +1

      To be fair....it is easy for him to be an idea generator...he has billions to back the project. If I had an idea for touring the moon I would need to invent a space elevator or some new kind of propulsion system as the current method is 500 million dollars per space shuttle trip.

  • @JtotheUdith

    this guy is awesome. i love the way he breaks down business into its most simple form -- a business is a group of people. keeping that in perspective is a great place to start. and he is such a cool entrepreneur. a day to day experience sparks an idea, an idea turns into a vision, a vision turns into a plan, a plan turns into team building action. and the importance of remembering a business is a group of people becomes relevant to executing that plan, creating that vision, etc. good sh*t.

    I think it is great that he is so honest. I've noticed a lot of successful people struggle to admit that their success may have partly come down to luck, or that they have any flaws whatsoever. It annoys me a bit when people say, "believe in yourself and work hard" because there is a possibility that you could still fail and if self-belief and hard work is all you need to succeed, the implication is that unsuccessful people do not believe in themselves and are lazy.

I wish to do it for the glory of GOD ... and I wonder if Richard Branson is willing to put his money in something alike since he is well known as a philanthropist .... like Sheldon Adelson. Don´t bother to answer... I know where they all stand.

      The love of money is the root of all evil... once it loses its value, who can it serve?.
      James 5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
      2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
      3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

      I wouldn't say *all* about. But I will say it appears that a good majority get there by being corrupt. But as cynical as I am I'm not cynical enough to say *ALL* successful people are corrupt. Surely some got there through actual hardwork and contribute to society. Then again I can't really name any...
      Or maybe what we see as corrupt these successful people don't see it as corrupt. Also what defines success/ful is usually a matter of perspective, it could be financial, family, social, fame. Maybe the only criteria is to have something you want through your own volition, planning and effort.

      The advice was:
      1. Remember a company is no more than a group of people
      2. You need to be the leader of this group
      3. As leader you need to listen to the people in the group
      4. As leader you need to praise, recognize and respect the skills of these people
      5. When your bank thinks you will fail - find another bank
      how did you miss it?
      Was envy the reason behind your comment - or are you just 'hard of thinking'?

      Connor Mcguire Then do not listen to him. Don't be a jerk. His speech habits are not what makes him successful. I just overlooked the stammering. I need to hear what he is offering. When a billionaire offers free advice, you might be grateful, and keep the negative remarks to yourself.

      Chris Richards When a speaker has a massive success, I do not worry about his speech impediments, only his (or her) clarity of thinking. Branson knows what he is doing. Dyslexia may mess with his reading and writing, but he has a skill.

    Sir Richard Branson as he admits is not the smartest guy in the world, however he is a visionary and when he has a vision, he then goes about surrounding himself with people smarter than him... he then gives then a lot of equity in the venture to complete and make the vision a reality and then he steps out of the way to let them do their job and supports them in their cause/crusade however he can and he has become a billionaire from this
    He is an extraordinary man!

    He's right about cash flow. I almost lost my business once when my customers took long to pay. Fortunately, I was able to get extended terms from my suppliers and was able to pull through. There isn't much margin on the product I produce so it seems like cash is going out the door just as fast as it comes in. I'd drop my bank if they pulled that on me too.

    Richard Branson is an Intelligent person that he focus on his brand by hiding is true success, for other words, he tells you what you need to know without tell you what you have to know! Makes senses, because if he advise you what you have to do, he knows that will open the doors to his competitors and a competitor today could be anyone.
