I thought this was just okay personally I grew up watching the Sherlock show so I’m more used to that tone being more mature and dark you can tell this is geared towards more younger girls and I’m glad it exists for that representation
This is a really good set up for the Enola Holmes franchise. Such a fun movie! The second one is way better in my opinion in terms of the story. We also get to see a lot more of Enola and Sherlock's relationship which is great. I absolutely love this character for Millie. She does a fantastic job in everything she's in but this role just fits her so well
OH MY GOD??? THE WAY I'VE BEEN DYING for ya'll to react to the Enola moves!!! This is the BEST SURPRISE! I hope ya'll watch the second it was WONDERFUL! And you should check out MBB's new move, Damsel too, it's awesome
This is based on a book series that came out in 2006. There have been a lot of adaptations of Sherlock Holmes over the years. Movies, tv series, some based in the time of the original books some set in the modern day.
You guys were pretty spot on with identifying actresses. Fiona Shaw, who played Miss Harrison (the headmistress), did also play Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter films. And Frances de la Tour, who played the Dowager, was indeed Madame Maxime.
I really liked the first two movies with Enola after being an older fan of Sherlock Holmes. I can definitely see that this series is more for younger audience but I still enjoy it. The one thing I am not really fond of is the love interest. I believe Tewkesbury also appears in the books but I wouldn't mind if this whole love aspect was developed later on in the movies since its not really that interesting and feels kinda out of the pocket. As you said in the begining- seeing Tewkesbury felt like watching those boys in Wednesday 😅
The woman playing the grandmother, Frances De La Tour, was also the head master of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Madame Maxime (Hagrid's crush). Yes headmistress is the woman who played Harry's aunt...Fiona Shaw.
A lot of Harry Potter cast in here. The lady who slapped Enola in the beginning (miss Harrison) plays aunt petunia, and Tewksbury’s grandmother played madame Maxine in goblet of fire (Hagrid’s love interest).
Oh I am so excited for this. I love the Enola Holmes movies. I just watched the 2nd one last week for the um...5th time I think. Just fun wholesome movies.
An ex friend of mine from middle school had rats named Misa and Light, named after characters from Death Note. Sweetest little things ever, I’ve wanted a rat as a pet since but not sure how my cat would deal with it lol Edit: also like any animal, as long as they have their shots, they’re safe
19:41 I love rats, they're amazing pets, but Rob is right lmaoo at this point in time in the movie, they are indeed carriers of diseases and will, in fact, bite you if given the opportunity lol but.. it's not really their fault. it's the people that were dirty first! lol
Just Zuff searching his brain for Dianna’s name and putting that series of syllable emphases onto the “Beatrice” from Enola’s widow persona. I love watching his brain make connections.
Loved the Anne with an E comparisons 😂I just adore this period drama genre and the clever remarks these empowering female protagonists in these coming of age stories offer to us ♥ until Enola Holmes 2!!!
I love Enola Holmes! It’s such a fun film and Milly Bobby Brown is brilliant in it. I like that she has range, that she can go from playing Eleven who is a more serious role to Enola which is more light hearted. I love Tewksbury! 😍. Please watch Enola Holmes 2. It’s really good, and I really like the character development. ❤️
You guys should totally check out Benedict Cumberbatch's TV show Sherlock. It's super intriguing, and the detective stuff always has a twist! I think you guys would enjoy it!
In the literature, Mycroft is the older brother who is responsible & takes care of the estate affairs, which allows Sherlock to be the self indulgent little brother who spends his time in addiction alongside his detective work.
on topic, have u guys watched the sherlock series(benedict cumberbatch one)? coz its brilliant, if i had to take a guess Rob's already seen it(it still grt for rewatch Rob i swear), Bryce probably hasn't but he's usu sharp at speculating the plots, it'll be interesting to see if he will in the series as well . Zuff's fav character's probably gonna be Moriarty or something also his mind works so unique way sometimes he guesses the shocking plots with ease😅. sherlock series would be perfect to watch on the channel.
I like the adventurous feel of this film, and I've heard the 2nd one is even better. Sam Claflin as a pseudo villain 😍😍😍. Bryce, you didn't ask, but uncommonly known fact: corsets were not actually as painful as they're often portrayed in films. Improper sizing was the most common culprit when it came to discomfort. I don't get why so many movies/shows portray them as a torture device for women. 🤦🏻♀️
Improper fit also caused women to struggle to take deep breaths, which caused a lot of fainting/swooning. It was a big reason why men regarded women as fragile and weak .
These are such enjoyable movies. I also loved Burn Gorman in Torchwood, Rob. Unfortunately, he is usually cast as the villain now 😅 But he is definitely a good & great character in Pacific Rim - an amazing movie that I highly recommend if you guys haven’t seen it yet. Also, corsets aren’t supposed to be uncomfortable. They’re just supportive undergarments. The enlarged hips using hip pads was a fashionable silhouette at a certain time.
Tewksbury's grandmother is actually played by Frances de la Tour who played Madame Maxime in Harry Potter, which is probably why you thought she was McGonagall at first. And actually, you didn't recognize her, but the Headmistress from the school is played by Fiona Shaw who played... well Petunia Dursley in Harry Potter. And speaking about Sherlock tv show, well actually this one I feel like did Mycroft justice. I don't even remember if Mycroft exists in the Holmes/RDJ movies.
there is also the anime Moriarty the Patriot (based off the manga of the same name). while it is more focused on moriarty as the name suggests, it was one of the best sherlock holmes portrayals out of all the sherlock movies/tv shows i've seen, imo. mycroft is pretty cool in that one too
omg if you want to watch a show about sherlock holmes there's a BBC tv series called 'Sherlock' starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman and it's an amazing show! You guys would love it
I actually had fun with this I love Sherlock Holmes and I was scared they were going to try, and do like to many corny jokes but I was surprised at how l liked it lol.
Now you guys HAVE to watch the second movie!!! First because there is more of Enola and Sherlock, Tewkesbury is a more relevant character and the plot is more interesting in my opinion. (+there's no Mycroft in this movie 💃🏾)
The mean teacher at the finishing school was in three men and a little lady playing a not so dissimilar character …one of my fave childhood movies after three men and a baby..if you haven’t already you guys should watch those classics for Tom selleck’s moustache alone 😃
Just watched this movie (and the 2nd one) a few weeks ago, and it has quickly become a favorite! Zuff, proud of you for remembering Diana's name! Rob, that part where the bad guy hit his head freaked me out, too. Pretty sure I squeamed for a solid 5 minutes afterwards! And even though he is a fantastic actor and it's important to be well-rounded, it hurt my heart to see Sam Claflin playing such a jerk, especially where he started screaming at Enola in the carriage.
This movie was just okay for me. Maybe because I'm older than the target audience, who knows? It's nitpicky but I'm not a fan of all the fourth wall breaks. I like them if they're a rarity in a movie, but not all throughout.

in the second movie there is actually more sherlock with enola, I think the Plot is also better :)
Yeah. Part 2 is better. Most of the world building has been done, more Sherlock and it is based on a real life case.
Yes. The villain sucks though.
I agree! :)
That was indeed Madame Maxime and Aunt Petunia.
"They need to make a movie about Sherlock."
There's plenty of them to choose from.
The entirety of yall trying to remember Diana had me creasing LMAO
I thought this was just okay personally I grew up watching the Sherlock show so I’m more used to that tone being more mature and dark you can tell this is geared towards more younger girls and I’m glad it exists for that representation
fun fact: Louis Partridge who plays Tewksbury is actually Olivia Rodrigo’s boyfriend! lol totally unrelated but I love them both dearly ❤️🫶🏼

This is a really good set up for the Enola Holmes franchise. Such a fun movie! The second one is way better in my opinion in terms of the story. I'm so glad you guys watched this! It was good, I still have to see the second though 😊
OH MY GOD??? THE WAY I'VE BEEN DYING for ya'll to react to the Enola moves!!! This is the BEST SURPRISE! I hope ya'll watch the second it was WONDERFUL! And you should check out MBB's new move, Damsel too, it's awesome

7:56 Why the hell am i only now recognizing Aunt Petunia from Harry Potter here?😅
Oh Millie Bobby Brown was very good in Damsel as well.
You guys were pretty spot on with identifying actresses. Fiona Shaw, who played Miss Harrison (the headmistress), did also play Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter films. And Frances de la Tour, who played the Dowager, was indeed Madame Maxime.
you should watch Sherlock the tv show with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. It's fantastic!
Yes. The 2nd is even better. Millie is such a great actress.
When y'all brought up Anne Shirleys bestie, I was yelling "ITS DIANA" thinking you would get it, and y'all never did.🤣
kept watching and rob got it eventually 😅🤗
I really liked the first two movies with Enola after being an older fan of Sherlock Holmes. I can definitely see that this series is more for younger audience but I still enjoy it. Millie did such a great job with this movie…🙌🏾☺️
enola holmes 2 is sooooo good!!!
A lot of Harry Potter cast in here. The lady who slapped Enola in the beginning (miss Harrison) plays aunt petunia, and Tewksbury’s grandmother played madame Maxine in goblet of fire (Hagrid’s love interest).
Yes, they talked about both in the reaction. 😉
@@swedish_malin Ik now I posted the comment early on in the reaction 😂
Oh I am so excited for this. I love the Enola Holmes movies. I just watched the 2nd one last week for the um...5th time I think. Just fun wholesome movies.
Anne’s Best friend is Dianna
don't get me wrong i love the first movie but the second movie is sooo much better lol anyways i'm so glad you guys reacted to my fav movie:)
If you want to watch great Sherlock movies, there are two starring Robert Downey jr & Jude Law, directed by Guy Richie, both are awesome.

An ex friend of mine from middle school had rats named Misa and Light, named after characters from Death Note. Sweetest little things ever, I’ve wanted a rat as a pet since but not sure how my cat would deal with it lol

LOL, that's not how you pronounce Cavill 😂😂😂
33:08 NO WAY ZUFF JUST SAID THAT BECAUSE MILLIE IS LITERALLY ENGAGED TO JAKE BONGIOVI AKA BON JOVI’S SON
I THOUGHT THAT TOO
The mispronunciation of Beatrice had me hollering XD I can't stop laughing. "No one is named that...." XD
When I read "The Series of Unfortunate Events" as a kid, I pronounced Be-A-trice like that the whole time 😅😅
Just Zuff searching his brain for Dianna’s name and putting that series of syllable emphases onto the “Beatrice” from Enola’s widow persona. I love watching his brain make connections.
@@itsalladream5559omg asoue fan seen in the wild 😨😨
Her sighing after the kiss in the hand is so real and so me plss😭😭
I died when you guys kept trying to remember Diana

In the literature, Mycroft is the older brother who is responsible & takes care of the estate affairs, which allows Sherlock to be the self indulgent little brother who spends his time in addiction alongside his detective work.
Exactly, not sure where the idea came that he is evil and sending people to basically try to kill her lol
