Honey Lemon is actually a solid player on the team, her abilities are the most versatile - she thinks up chemical formulas ON THE FLY, punches them into her applicator to create whatever the situation calls for. BigBrain.
She was my favorite! I hope they make a sequel soon
Yeah her bag is legitimately the periodic table. So she has to know how each of the elements interact with each other, whenever she makes one of those spheres. She's definitely gigabrain. I could never. 😆

Hiro has to be one of the most orphaned/bereaved characters in Disney. He lost his parents when he was 3, he sees his brother die in a fire, he loses his sponsor Callaghan (first, he thinks, in a fire; then through what happens after that), and he experiences the loss of Baymax (which is real, even though it turns out he can rebuild him). That's a lot.
Yesss, I feel bad for him and he's just what years old? That's actually too much for him to handle

@@youyeedyourlasthaw I didn't watch it for quite a while because I had absolutely no idea what I would be getting myself into based on the title. I'm also not a huge animated movie fan, though, If I don't know what it's about then it depends on the art style for me if I'll check it out immediately or wait to watch it. I'm more of an anime fan, and I like darker films if I can tell that they will be darker in theme. Like Coraline or Nightmare Before Christmas, basically if it has Tim Burton's aesthetic lol.
Animated film-wise I think most are nice but How to Train Your Dragon, soars lightyears above other animated films for me based on it's themes, animated sequences, and relatability (It hit too close to home for me).
I eventually watched this to see why some people were mentioning it and did enjoy how it handled grief, and it definitely made me sob more than once. I was pleasantly surprised. Luckily, I couldn't relate to the exact reason he felt grief, but I've definitely related to how he felt based on other stuff I've been through.
The Tv show is good but not the best in certain episodes

This movie won a bunch of awards, had great reviews made $700mil, had multiple tv show sequels, and renowned for developing new CG technologies. People need to stop assuming that because they didn't it enough that the world didn't. It's not to the level of Toy Story or Cars but it was a big deal

I love how Baymax's green chip is labeled "Tadashi Hamada" so that when Hiro brings it back to life it's like he's bringing back his brother.
Tadashi is one of those deaths that remains painful, his introduction is so short and yet you get attached to him immediately, truly a kind guy 🥺
Zuff asking "Who do we want, Abigail or Baymax?" made me laugh so hard in the middle of crying. Never change Zuff 😂

ahhh yay this is definitely one of my favourite animated movies! the twists, the DEATHS??, and the heightened dialogue makes it so enjoyable for all ages! it’s SO good, i was happier than the girls i babysat as a teen when we watched this LMAOO (they still absolutely loved it, bc how could you not)

Something I didn’t even notice is that even tho honey lemons wasn’t the coolest invention to you guys but, her purse actually I believe has a periodic table on it, and she can type on whatever she wants so it’s not preprogrammed she can make up just about anything she wants I lowkey think that makes it a little cooler but since it’s a kid movie I think they made it more “cute”
I love that Stan Lee still has a cameo since it’s loosely based off of a Marvel comic
It's not just "loosely based". They barely changed anything appart from the story ( they kept most of the names only fred and wasabi's hero name were changed) and changed the designs (with varius degree of changes for exempleBaymax went from a green lizard-like behemoth to a red robot while Hiro went from a nerdy kid with glasses to a nerdy kid in a hero suit).Also Tadashi's chip had a cameo in an avengers movie ( or an Iron man one I don't really remember).
I watched this for the first time in 2020 during the first lockdown. My then 18 month old neice wandered over and watched along side me, and became completely obsessed with baymax for the next 2yrs! She would often do the fistbump and 'falalalalaa' noise with the hand gestures it was the cutest thing ever.
Once when she was 3, i fell after slipping on a wet floor and she casually wandered over pulled her dummy (pacifier) out of her mouth and said "on a scale of 1 to 10.." i think i laughed for about half an hour. It was so unexpected and timed perfectly, it completely distracted me from the pain (i landed hard so it hurt like hell)
I don't know many people who've seen this which is a shame because it's incredible and definitely deserves way more attention and recognition.

I never noticed the parallel between hiro going into the portal and tadashi running into the building - they both say almost the exact same line.
I legitimately can't believe Disney hasn't turned this one into a franchise yet... such an insanely good movie.

I remember watching this in theaters when it came out and no one was talking about it. Frozen was so popular that it kinda overshadowed big hero 6 even a year later 😅 I personally like this movie much more
I feel like not enough people notice that even before Tadashi took him to the school, Hiro was already getting bored with bot fighting.
Dont believe me? Look at Hiro's face during the bot fight. It wasnt even a challenge.
I watched this movie for the first time a few months after my brother died not knowing anything at all so needless to say i sobbed the entire time lmao. It is still one of my favorites and i do still cry everytime.
Fun fact: in Avengers: Age of Ultron, when Tony is looking through his AI chips, they have one labeled Tadashi
Ugh this film is soooo good!! I cried watching it for the first time and I think that if a film makes you cry it just simply says a lot about that film. Its so well made but yet it’s insanely underrated.
There's been so many incredible animated films over the last few years that haven't been given the recognition they deserve, this is one for sure. And the mitchels vs the machines... even more so kubo and the 2 strings... incredible film.

This film is one of the best projects I have ever seen that revolves around the theme of grief.
This movie came out about 6 months after I lost my older brother in a car wreck, so lemme tell y’all, I absolutely SOBBED when I first saw this movie. Still gets me tbh lol.

This film was huge, so it is interesting to see some comments about the film seeming to slip under the radar for them. To this day, Baymax is still incredibly popular in Japan - my friend was just there and Baymax is everywhere.

46:42 Big Hero 6 is part of the Marvel Comic Universe. This film wasn’t released as a Marvel Movie (Disney and Marvel weren’t partners yet)- Stan Lee didn’t care. A lot of people have wondered if they would ever bring Big Hero 6 into the Marvel Film Universe, it just doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

big hero 6 is definitely one of my favorite disney movies and im kind of sad that somehow this movie is still underrated. one of my bestfriends literally gave me a baymax life sized and i slept with it since 2017. i love baymax so much and i wish i could watch this movie again for the first time.

i saw this movie in theaters when it came out at ten years old. i credit it with kickstarting my love of the found family trope and narratives about grief and platonic love, as well as partially informing (along with guardians of the galaxy) my love of superheroes! i'm now starting college this year and i'm going to major in english with a graphic design minor, in the hopes of becoming a comic book artist!
