This has been driving me crazy, if you delete a file in Onedrive, the icon of the file is still there in Microsoft 365, and if you still try to delete it, it just says "This item doesn’t exist. It may have already been deleted.", what do i do to get rid of the icon itself, if possible(Hopefully it is).
So i deleted the files like in your video, and they no longer appear in One Drive. But the Excel files i wanted to delete still appear in the Excel overview. And if i press "hide" they reappear when i refresh. Incredibly annoying. I'm a blackbelt with computers, but a rookie with Microsoft 365 and Excel. I guess the solution for me is called LibreOffice, since this burns through my patience way too fast
I recently installed 365. I just now played with it. From the file button you'll see a list of your recent Word files. Many are auto-saved junk files that I don't want. I simply hit the right mouse button on the file name and there it is...the delete file option. Same thing with files located in other folders. No need to go to One Drive...

So I followed the steps , went to One Drive and deleted these MS Word blank docs but when I went back to MS Word everything I deleted was still there. Why???? This is a horrible design, come on MS.
Even though you deleted it from one drive it is still in your history. Yeah I agree that Ms 365 needs to upgrade their interface. I feel like I am using government issued software.

It will still show up on the recently opened tab even after you delete the file. I have not found a way to remove it from the history yet.

How to make folders in Drive so you can organize files?
You have to click on the 3 dots on the left side of the folder and there should be an option to create a new folder. I may make a video on this.
