A wise man once said, "Fail faster." Because everyone is not perfect. Your past mistakes make you a much stronger person. Once you reflect and understand, the brighter you become.
I actually really fuck with these types of videos man. they're honest and open, and that's something is rare in the world and even more rare on the internet. So this was a breath of fresh air seeing you open up like this. What ever you do next I'm excited for man, Wishing you nothing but the best king!
The biggest lesson I learned this year is to make the best video I can but after optimizing it let it go so the numbers don’t get to my head good or bad. It’s done wonders for my mental health. No matter what sponsorships or numbers I get I always want to be the same hungry UA-camr I was when I started 4 years ago. I went through a phase where I was scared to upload or experiment because I didn’t want to hurt my public image by having a video with low views. It took a lot of self reflecting and checking my ego but it was an arc I needed to go through to grow as a creator.
Honestly Johnny I feel this something that everyone who is really passionate about their crafts goes through some type of ego but I feel what you really do with it and how you decide to approach it changes everything. I def had people steal ideas or concpets for me as well that I used to get very upset about but now I look at as no one can replicate what yourself can really do as they didn't have the same mindset as you that you had in the very moment. I feel reflecting with anything is honestly the best as thats when the true elevation & artisty really shine for the people who are really passionate about their craft.
Man, I feel you, I think everybody does. Every single person that strives to improve comes to clash with the realization that maybe we're the "villains" of this situation. And everyone who strives to improve ultimately realizes that it's just being human, with needs of protection of our beliefs and certainties, that we are good people and deserve our place in the world. But when it comes to this, it might all come crashing down, and the opposite might arise. The certainty that we don't deserve this placeninnour world. However, regardless of how bad your actions may seem to you, remember, as I said before, that this is common for all people who desire to be a better version of yourself. Being "good" or "bad" doesn't come down from your past actions, but how you ultimately learn and improve from them. Being "good" is hard, because it is not something natural. There is absolutely no one who has always walked on the right path. Mistakes that make one stray don't make him bad, but human. What makes one truly "good" is their will to overcome the impervious obstacles, mostly against oneself, to return the right path. Wish you the best of luck, brother, always keep your head and never give up!
Fellow creative here. I honor your confessional, Johnny. Please continue leaning on the good folk in your life, especially the friends you can interface with IRL. I know I myself am incredibly lucky to do so in my own life, especially when I can "confess" to them even without my art. I pray it is the same for you. - LT
Thank you for this. Thank you for being real. At the end of the day, we are human. Nebulous and Ill-defined. And that's ok. I've had to accept a lot about myself, and it's been hard. It will probably continue to be hard because acceptance is one of the hardest things someone can do. But bit by bit, we're bettering ourselves. We've all got a long journey ahead in this weird adventurer we call life. Keep it pushing Johnny, we've got this.
Thats kinda with me right now my vids have been cracking at the thousands and that made me happy But when a new vid doesnt go that far i feel disappointed, upset, down and especially angry and saw other UA-camrs doing better i would be Jealous and frustrated and i really dont like that feeling shit is rough
It's always been something I think about when making but the way I try to deal with it is to remember that the system isn't "fair", there's some type of videos that will do better and there'll always be a channel bigger than me. My current dream is to make it to 1k but even if I reach that there'll always be a higher sub count to aim for and there will always be a Mr Beast clone blowing my numbers out of the watee
I'm glad you found and watched this video then, for the sake of solidarity. Also, some advice from a stranger on the web (take with a grain of salt): remember that satisfaction should not be based on circumstance -- you can't always choose outcomes, but you can choose your reaction to them. @KatZEdition also makes a good point about the system not being "fair". Whether that is a good or bad thing is, probably, for you to decide.
the best thing to do is to get back to work and improve. I have felt similar thoughts to you in the past but I've realized I need to bring my A -game. I don't know if you know of Ryan holiday but I highly recommend his book 'Discipline is Destiny. There are some mental models, stories and words of wisdom in there that might be useful to you.
You should deff read goodnight punpun promise it's a good read, and it'll change you as a person (I pray that you see the rainbow if you do) and it'll give you insight and make you think think... think............... you should deff read it tho one of my favourites it's not the no.8 best rated manga for nothing it'll resonate with you (eva too) it might make you not wanna do anything for a week but if you can get through it, you might have a completely different perspective.
