One of the most amazing things about Morgan I LOVE is, for all the work they do, a Morgan is relatively inexpensive. You know an Italian or German company build a car like the Morgan, it would cost easily twice as much... Just one more thing Morgan figured out. Keeping weight down. Check. Building cars of wood and Aluminum. Check. keeping costs down without sacrificing quality. CHECK! A LOT of smaller carmakers worldwide could take some notes.
Despite what some people may say, Alex, I love your videos and narration. You are never doing anything right if you don't have people attempting to shut you down. Keep it coming.
This is the brilliance we've been waiting for from Alex Roy. We knew the potential was there, and here it is. The soundtrack is perfect. Please keep this up!
Alex Roy's best work yet - great article done with character and the background music selection is spot on. Matt Humphries is a god - I want an Aero Coupe so badly it hurts!
"in a world where car manufacturers strive for ubiquity, morgan strives for permanence. this is not about building the most, it's about building history" that's about the best summary of morganethics i've heard ... and from an american!
Turn your annotations on, the little comic bubble button on the YT player. The link should be in the top left of the video window. Or you can check the Live and Let Drive Playlist.
Thank you Alex for bringing the raw and insightful . I normally bag on you but this was a great and insightful episode. Thanx Alex keep up the good work.
It's true morgans are a life long car and passion. I'm 23 and have never, not had a morgan in my life. We've had morgans in our family for 30+ years and were never going to stop! We currently have 3 historic racing morgans a 1952 Flat rad +4 works car and two 1960s FIA +4 supersports replicas. I'm always going to own and drive a morgan and so will my children and there children! Long Live Morgan!!!
Great video. There was a comment previously about visiting Rauh-Welt Begriff in Japan. I have met Nakai-san and been to the original RWB workshop, and I can tell you it is the PERFECT place to feature on Live and Let Drive or Tuned!! Make it happen DRIVE!
Atah Boy Alex... You are finally making these about the passion for cars and abandoning ego... Keep this up and we wont hate on your videos anymore.... Good Job....
Really great video. Alex Roy and Chris Harris are the two greatest auto journalists I've seen. They should rlly start a top gear like show with the same production values as these vids.
Using all caps makes your comment much more powerful, well done. I'm only expressing my opinion. I liked this video but this guy is so much in love with morgan he only sees the good qualities.
15:07 - in the past I've questioned your sincerity, but this puts me straight - sorry mate! You convey here, in this short 30 second sequence, emotion, sincerity and true conviction that really comes across to the viewer. Excellent piece.
Dude totally cracks me up! I can tell that Alex is holding back lots because he really doesn't want to make fun of or discredit Morgan Motors. Alex, you should be a comedian, your potential for the new highest levels measured in sarcasm is strong! Great work guys, can't wait for the action in part deux!
Fantastic video Alex. I've really really enjoyed the style of the last few videos you've done! And I once ran across Polizei 144 coming up 5N in California over the Grapevine - I tried to keep up for a few minutes but you were pushing 100 mph and I didn't have all the cool scanners and shit hehe.
this was amazing, having watched the battle of rome yesterday (thanks gtspirit), and now this alex roy has a true passion and alround knowledge for everything cars
I loved this vid, well done. I think the people who are annoyed with the cut scenes of Alex talking about the cars in the videos just dont like the style. I for one get what you are doing with the production, it is not solely to be a narrative but to be conversational also. Atleast this is what I get from the cut scenes. This style works for involving the audience if you are talking facts...
Don't know why people hate on Alex Roy. I've always seen him as a warm guy who likes to fuck around every once in a while. Great to see that side of him again.
This is The Best video Alex Roy has ever made. His esoteric prose is in its home environment when there is a Morgan involved. It doesn't really fit in an Infiniti or a BMW 6, but his ridiculous claims seem so much more close to the truth when they is surrounded some something as equally esoteric as Morgan Motors. This is great. The thing that always turned me off to Morgan was how small they were, but when I saw Alex drive off in that 3 Wheeler, I felt a serious twinge of jealousy.
This was actually a good episode. Well done. I want to see v-twin engines in cars though. It would make sense to build a 1.6 litre V-Twin engine for a small hatchback rather than a 4 cylinder because the twin would have more torque and a broader power band. It would also be smaller, lighter, and probably cheaper to build, since it has half the parts. And imagine it with an aftermarket exhaust. Would put V8's to shame.
I don't understand the hate towards alex. he churns out great content, and I don't think there is one "live and let drive" I disliked. excellent video as always, alex.
does it increase chassis rigidity? overall longevity? is it easier to replace then metal? im not shooting these guys down, personally i really like the way they look.
Great vid Alex, really good delivery and your genuine passion comes across really well. Didnt know they did tours, do you know if thats an owners club only thing or can anyone book? Keep up the good work!
My uncle had a TVR and he's not dead lol. Yeah they weren't always great cars but they were great to drive, if that makes sense? I loved their rawness and simplicity, plus they sounded amazing. And they were built about 5 miles from where I live.
Malvern is, for me, pure essence of England. The home-town of Morgan and of Elgar, that most English of composers - and the medieval Priory, a fine example of that most uniquely English of architectural styles, the 15th-century Perpendicular, which is home to a stupendous 1920s pipe organ. Go to Malvern, visit Elgar's birthplace and the Malvern factory, soak up the atmosphere. Likewise, come to beautiful Surrey, home of Ralph Vaughan Williams, McLaren, Gordon Murray, Caterham and others...
A bit, thats my biggest problem with buying a car I have never driven. Something could look good on paper(cadillac xlr) and then turn out to be crap in real life. That's why I was asking about the driving experience. Thanks for your time.
Good job Alex! Nice choice on picking morgan, a very innovative company that can be successful today and hold on to it's past, but you looked a little nervous there in the factory?
I'm hand made. I also used to be in pretty good shape and lovely. A checkup by the mechanic or something would probably be in order by now though..nice video :)
I am trying. On paper the chimaera should be a right blast. lightweight v8 rear drive sports car, very sort of standout car in canada. Which is why I'm asking what you thought of yours, and you haven't elaborated in the engine choice or any of that.
but not necessarily a chimaera. I have gotten a ride in previously mentioned sagaris and that thing was an animal, and honestly a small guy like me fit in it reasonably well although I suspect taller folks might have trouble in it. Maybe I will wait till one of those are available.
This was a few years back, shortly after I first read the Wired article on the 31:04 run. Probably early 2008. You were certainly going too fast for me to catch up, first of all, and second, the Wired article made you seem like a stone cold killer! I would have been too nervous, but after seeing a bit more of your true personality, if I catch you again, I certainly will take you up on the offer!
How about that it uses BMW powertrain and engine? Anyway in the previous episode about Morgan probably it was with Chris Harris when he tested the concept I said alot of bad things in the comments that it looks unfinished etc... Now in this episode the white one looks NUTS and I bet it's very well built and as Alex said they're very reliable. So my final word is that this kind of episodes with J.F. and Alex tells you so much more than just test drive which is everywhere on the network :)
Reliable? MOT history of the grey Morgan in video - VX12 DVC - It failed at just 19K - 30th April 2016 'Reason(s) for failure -nearside rear Suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2) offside rear Suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2)
My money is on Shelsly Walsh, just up the road from the factory, and more than likely where the first Morgans were raced. And it is also the oldest functioning race track in the world!

Keep up the GREAT work Mr. Roy!! Love your videos.
I always look forward to the Live and Let Drive videos, makes a nice change from the 'road test videos'. Keep it up Alex, you've got it right.
When your on location, and actually talk about cars, it makes for a pleasant watch ( unlike the Iceland video) this is on another level
By far the best alex roy video to date. Well done and thank you
Alex Roy's best work yet - great article done with character and the background music selection is spot on. Matt Humphries is a god - I want an Aero Coupe so badly it hurts!
Always interesting Alex - keep it up!
Glad you got us a video on one of the best cars in the world!

GREAT JOB ALEX! To be honest. Sometimes it seems like you phone it in! But this time, I got a real feeling for your passion. Thanks man!

these are artists, this what the world needs to go back too.
Atah Boy Alex... You are finally making these about the passion for cars and abandoning ego... Keep this up and we wont hate on your videos anymore.... Good Job....
Love the documentry feel to this video! Makes a great change to the normal 'review'
Really great video. Alex Roy and Chris Harris are the two greatest auto journalists I've seen. They should rlly start a top gear like show with the same production values as these vids.
nice work, now that's an enjoyable easy to watch, interesting story.
Using all caps makes your comment much more powerful, well done. I'm only expressing my opinion. I liked this video but this guy is so much in love with morgan he only sees the good qualities.
I would LOVE to have a shop like that, all Red Brick.
Excellent on all counts Alex. Really enjoyable.
15:07 - in the past I've questioned your sincerity, but this puts me straight - sorry mate!

Excellent piece.
nice vid...i love these inside looks at car companies.

Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Great video, Drive is best Auto TV on UA-cam anyone agree??
cool episode. I love the how the new looks still maintain their root classy style. I wonder if it'll make an appearance in the next Bond flick.
Ok.... That "To be continued" really killed me!
Give me that next episode.
Just awesome how they still take the time and pride to do it right with style and function now a days here in the usa cars are so generic kudos
Alex got some pointers from the master, Mr. Harris! Good Stuff! Keep it up!
Nice one, Alex. Do more like this. Good job.
Don't know why people hate on Alex Roy. I've always seen him as a warm guy who likes to fuck around every once in a while. Great to see that side of him again.
The production quality is excellent on drive videos!

Keep up the good work!
MAYBE i missed when they said it, are those r56 mini headlights?
The mixing engineer for DRIVE is very good , greet him from my part :)
Good job!!
His book " The Driver ' is a very fun read that helps you understand Alex .
My uncle had a TVR and he's not dead lol. Yeah they weren't always great cars but they were great to drive, if that makes sense? I loved their rawness and simplicity, plus they sounded amazing. And they were built about 5 miles from where I live.
Thank you for the video, thumbs up.
Part one is the Alex meets Chris. Great video Alex, J.F, Josh.
Great episode, really enjoyed this.
Great vid! Thanks!
Great video! Now I want to buy a Morgan...
This makes me proud to be a Malverner.
i got my morgan matchbox toy car and hold it in my hand all the video..good job alex.
Good vid Mr. Alex ! I hope you'll tell us how it feels to drive a Morgan!
That is a great episode, good work !

Added annotations to the first part we did in the U.K. :-)

Loved the video Alex !
God I love morgan! I would love to own one!
Superdry is from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK by the way, which probably fits with morgan better.
you mentioned a while back that you were planning to get a Morgan 3 wheeler, did you get it, is it still being built, did it fall through?
Great video more of this quality
thanks for doing this, love the Morgan
Good job Alex! Nice choice on picking morgan, a very innovative company that can be successful today and hold on to it's past, but you looked a little nervous there in the factory?
I'm hand made. I also used to be in pretty good shape and lovely. A checkup by the mechanic or something would probably be in order by now though..nice video :)
Can you not see the yellow link in the top right corner of the screen at the beginning of the episode?
GREAT....now i have to wait another week
31Hours 4 minutes to be exact! but yeah we'd be lucky to have as much fun as he's had!!
Great video Alex
Awesome thanks for the advice.
Thanks mate !
part 1 in the UK is with Mr. Harris
Always loved Morgans. Gangster whips
Very educational, thanx
I am trying. On paper the chimaera should be a right blast. lightweight v8 rear drive sports car, very sort of standout car in canada. Which is why I'm asking what you thought of yours, and you haven't elaborated in the engine choice or any of that.
I like the cars and the company.
Still not sold on this guy.
I was wondering, do they use the headlights from the mini cooper? I think they look very alike...
You have got to love Morgan.
but not necessarily a chimaera. I have gotten a ride in previously mentioned sagaris and that thing was an animal, and honestly a small guy like me fit in it reasonably well although I suspect taller folks might have trouble in it. Maybe I will wait till one of those are available.
I just love the hate on these comments.
Nice wee video

This guy is starting to grow on me.
do you guys score your own tracks?

It's about time!
Any easier way to find part 1? Can't find it. What is it called?
Reliable?

Great closeing words.
My money is on Shelsly Walsh, just up the road from the factory, and more than likely where the first Morgans were raced.
And it is also the oldest functioning race track in the world!
So motherfucking cool. I seriously want a Plus 8 so badly. Even a three-wheeler. Love them.
This makes me wish TVR would come back. Bring back traditional British sports cars!!
Legend has it that the great great, great ancestors of Morgan actually were vikings.
This is UK Visit Part 2. Part 1 was Alex's video with Chris Harris in the 911 and Renault Cup Clio.
ditto man. definitely coming up.
whats with the swedish polis-patch, Alex? Like it!
