Ridiculous to omit NLAW from this list- due to it's portability and sheer versatility it's a world class system. It's currently malleting Russian MBT's in Ukraine.
NLAW is better suited for in-city fighting. In an open battlefield, NLAW is not as good as other portable ATGMs like the Javelin or the Israel's SPIKE because it lacks the longer range of other ATGMs. NLAW is a short-range ATGM and the operator must be closer to the target. It also lags in penetration of armor thickness. NLAW is 500+mm while Javelin is 800+mm.
@@vonnikon - Yes and No is the answer. The "xxxmm" armor stats on tank data are for "guidance only" these days and cannot be relied on if anyone's life is on the line due to increased use of composite armor in addition to RHA which is what all ATGMs are rated at. For Leopard 2A6, "920-940 mm RHAe on the turret, 620 mm RHAe on the glacis and lower front hull on the Leopard 2A6." Now, NLAW was most likely designed for Soviet era tanks which it can easily take out but with increased use of composite armor, you want the most lethality level since you may only get one shot. Do you want only 500+mm penetration or 800+mm penetration for your ATGM? The most dangerous anti tank missile is the Spike due to its intelligent non line of sight loitering capabilities. It is so good that US Army tested it on Apaches instead of the Hell fires, which expose the helicopter to SAM and other threats. An operator of Spike can fire the missile, watch for enemies from above and then pick a target on the fly. @@praveenranndika5083 Basically, the advantage of the Spike NLOS isn't really the range, it's the loitering capability. You could have 1000km range, if the target is behind a wall you won't hit it. Spike NLOS can be manually guided to hit the tank.

The NLAW is incredibly effective in the roll it was designed for, but that role is not exactly the roll of a true 'ATGM'. It's (practically speaking) more of an upgraded AT4/SMAW in terms of capabilities, compared to the capabilities of the ATGMs on this list (range is less than 1km, no target tracking, etc...). Your range data on the Kornet is wrong. The maximum range of the Kornet is 5500 meters and for the Kornet EM is given as 10000 meters. Also the data presented for the SPIKE is for the MR and LR variants. However the newer variants MR2 and LR2 have increased ranges of 3000 and 5000 meters respectively. The SPIKE LR2 has a range of 10000 meters with fiber optic guidance and 16000 meters for air launched with data link guidance. Its length is 1.7 meters. there is also SPIKE NLOS with a max range of 32000 meters.

Penetration is not relevant if the enemy is hiding behind cover and you can't lock on it (e.g. as the case with older gen missiles - Javelin/Kornet/etc.).
I wish the Germans would gaie the Ukrainians their Spike missile inventory.
@@marktepper3440 I understand this very well, but Putin will light the middle east on fire if Israel supplies weapons and the spike is a game changer.

Brimstone is better than Hellfire. Longer range and also capable of being launched by fast fixed wing aircraft.
Russian helicopter mounted missiles are ignored.
An antique like TOW is so high up in the ranking. Then Konkurs, Milan and HOT should have been included too.
40km -60km range but but warhead smaller than helfire.
Probably the best 10 anti tanks currently but the ranking of the list can be disputable!....good video
As always with The Buzz. The ranking is completely random.
If Hellfire is so much better than Spike, why is the US buying Spike missiles for their helicopters? The Spike missile range is well over twice the range listed here
These guys got their facts wrong the Kornet EM has a range of 8km not 1km
What about the uks brimstone missile one of the best missiles in the world.
what about the brimstone?
Spike NLOS - 32 kilometers maximum range. The US recently purchased these to their Apache helicopters.
British brimstone 40km to 60km...
@@praveenranndika5083 Yeah, the difference is that from that range, it's dependent on target designation, whereas the Spike NLOS doesn't need it, as it's guided by camera. That's a huge advantage. For example, Brimstone can't engage target behind a mountain, Spike NLOS can.
@@praveenranndika5083 Basically, the advantage of the Spike NLOS isn't really the range, it's the loitering capability. You could have 1000km range, if the target is behind a wall you won't hit it. Spike NLOS can be manually guided to hit the tank.
@@BenyKarachun Brimstone can autonomously search for detect, classify and engage a target using its Millimetric Wave radar. Missiles will even data link to each other to ensure that they each engage a different target. This means that like Spike Brimstone can be launched without the need for line of sight but it also has an advantage in that it isn't effected by weather or smoke due the use of radar for guidance and can be fired in salvos to engage many targets simultaneously from a single platform.
@@aveit6755 Yeah man, good luck using that radar to fire on people with ATGMs or MANPADs or a mortar squad, good luck differentiating between an MLRS and just a normal truck. Good luck hitting a control tower, a barracks, etc.
You can't control it to hit something specific, it's a massive disadvantage.
Weather isn't really a factor.
Spike NLOS can also engage targets simultaneously.
No distinction between vehicle borne, copter borne, and carriable. Not an apples-to-apples comparison.

@@emorelix Hope the Stugna-P is amazing. Hope that courage isn't sacrificed. Hell of a new century.
Because 'murica!
The NLAWs flight path data is loaded into the missile before firing, then the missile follows that flight path without deviation. It cannot update trajectory if the target changes direction or speed, like everything else on this list.
