I think it's important to understand why the huge increase in the first place. Has the risk substantially increased? This needs proper scrutiny applying. While it's great that race fans would donate their hard earned to ensure the races go ahead, what if there's not enough raised? What message does that send to the insurers. Sorry, but I think it'd be better to tell the insurance co's to shove their premium up their derriere and do one. It would be better for racing in the long term.
