If you get a chance check this out for a vocal warm up, yes warm up. Led zep black dog warm up ua-cam.com/video/F2Yi6TVi-sU/v-deo.html Also here is a classic by venetta fields, one of john's backers (amazing grace) ua-cam.com/video/_x6N94OEkZQ/v-deo.html It's sung as a warm up and a chance to let the crowd witness the talent that surrounds john. Venetta has been in the game backing for the likes of the supremes and other motown legends.
I'm reading a biography about John Farnham named, 'The Untold Story', by Jane Gazzo. It states that when he was young and building his music career he would do lots of gigs in one night because he loved singing sooo much ! Now, after his operation and during his recuperation, his son reports that John is once again singing - in the shower- something he has always done to experiment with his vocal ability. JACK'S BACK !!!
That is pretty special sing Mr farnesy too ur fam would b so noice too see ya on stage again if not just keep singing too ur fam an crack jokes an do well keep on ur recovery , LV ya man whom belongs too the voice of my era when I grew up an still listening too ya , just stay strong for ur fam if ya don't sing again the whole world has alot too go threw an listen too , which I have grown up with , which is amazin , I know U won't read these farnesy take care mate....with ur fam.....
Great reaction to our beloved John. Please watch John's acapella perfomance of Love's In Need from this same concert. His entire band join him to sing. It is truly beautiful, so many voices blending & harmonising.😊
Yes please, that is (another) brilliant performance by John and his band. So many to choose from. I also love (from this concert) Help - John starts with the original arrangement by the Beatles, then merges into his version. So entertaining!
over the course of watching a few of Nina's videos, seeing little snatches of her musicality. i have to say, i'm impressed. i've been a musician for almost 30 years, and for any non-musicians reading, the title of "professional session musician" is extremely prestigious and sought-after among the rank-and-file of working musicians. when we hear professional session musician we are expecting someone who can play the song after one listen and nail it by the third take. this takes multiple skills and talents all working in concert (pun intended). i could never do this, the studio reveals me for the amateur i am. Nina is LEGIT.
Thank you Nina for your great reaction and appreciation of our phenomenal Aussie Legend, John Farnham.🥰❤🎶 This was one of my many favourite John Farnham songs. Have you seen his movie yet -called: 'John Farnham - Finding The Voice'? I've just watched it for the third time here in Australia and can't wait to watch it again.💕🎶 I hope you get to view it soon, as you will acquire an even deeper appreciation of John Farnham as an amazing vocalist, performer and soul, as well as his fantastic manager and best friend, Glenn Wheatley, ...plus his awesome band of loyal and most talented musicians! It is such a legendary story.💿📀🎵🎶🎤🎷🎸🎹🥁🪗🥇🏆
Hey Nina, John always had very strong backing vocalists that were well known singers in their own right. The two women here are Lisa Edwards and Venetta Fields. Not sure about the male singer as it’s not his usual one which was Lyndsey Field. The guy playing the accordion was the musical genius behind John and so much Australian talent David Hirshfelder (spelling?) The guy with the long hair playing Guitar had his own band called Southern Sons Jack Jones. A lot of people who played with John went on to have fantastic careers in music because they played with him. Another one I can think of who maybe wasn’t in the band yet was keyboardist Chong Lim, Chong went on to be one of the country’s best musical directors he was a fantastic composer and pianist. The band what ever era for John were always Australia’s best talent.
Lyndsey Field was in that concert as well - playing acoustic guitar - he was the one with the deeper backing vocal that Nina could hear. The other guitarist (during the solo) was Phil Buckle (also from Southern Sons).
Thank you Nina, there's something about listening to John Farnham live that's always so warm and welcoming. Thank you, hope you feel better. Great reaction
Yet another fantastic John Farnham live review vid, Nina. Absolutely loving the way your face lights up when he sings alot of those really powerful notes. I love also, how many other people, all these years on, are JUST discovering his extraordinary voice. ❤
Thanks Nina for your excellent reaction. Two of John's backup singers sing with him 'Amazing Grace' which is a truely angelic version. Worth reacting to.
Something outside of the performance itself that you won't pick up just by looking is the mind boggling assembly of talent John has on stage with him here. In no particular order; Wayne Nelson, bass guitar and backing vocals - of Little River Band fame, Jack Jones (Irwin Thomas) on guitars (red strat) and backing vocals, who would go on to form Southern Sons with Phil Buckle (also on guitar here (slide guitar in the solo). Jack/Irwin is an incredible vocalist in his own right and fantastic guitarist as well. David Hirschfelder on keys (and Accordion!) is a world renowned composer. This isn't even mentioning the other backing vocalists who performed with John forever. It's an incredible ensemble and testament to everyone that they can perform without the egos and just have fun.
Great reaction. Always learning something new and enjoying your exploration that is John Farnham. The keyboardist in many of his concerts is David Hirschfelder.
This is a star studded Aussie super group of sorts. When John refers to "phil", he's talking about Phil Buckle on slide guitar. Also in the band is Phil's Southern Sons bandmate Jack Jones (Irwin Thomas) an awesome vocalist in his own right. By the way, Phil Buckle wrote on of John's biggest songs "Burn for You" with John and Ross Fraser. 10:57
Congrats on your 205 thousand subs Nina. You deserve success & im happy to be one of those subs. Your reactions are both informative & entertaining, so again, congrats. On a tangent, away from our Aussie icon, I’ve requested on a couple of occasions for your reaction to Amira Willighagen , so I’m requesting again for the following that has had over 75 million views & counting. Amira was ten years old. O Mio Babbino Caro with the world renown conductor/musician André Rieu at Maastricht to an audience of over 12,000 who rose as one for a standing ovation. Cheers Graeme
Yep, you can tell that he absolutely loves what he does, and that's part of what makes us love him so much! He does have a great rapport with his audience, and loves them too. I heard him say in an interview (presumably in response to a question about why he didn't really pursue a career overseas) that he'd never be able to have a relationship with any other audience like he did with the one he had in Australia, and that many of them had been with him for 30 years (at that time), so it would feel wrong to leave them behind after that loyalty. Glad for once that you got to keep the full video up! There are some great songs from this same concert, would recommend - Love's In Need, Touch Of Paradise, Burn For You, and for some high-energy fun, Playing To Win. Also, as someone else suggested, if you want high notes and just a great performance overall, try Who's Lovin' You (with Human Nature) from his 50th birthday concert, not an amazing quality video, but John doing yet another style/genre that you probably haven't heard from him before, and brilliantly as usual (performance has a couple of minutes of kidding around afterwards which you may or may not want to watch)!
I grew up with and have always loved John Farnham, so thanks for the post. Just wanted to add, two of his backing vocals, Vanetta Field and Lindsey Fields. If you get the opportunity to hear them solo, you'll be likely impressed. I am not related to them. heh He picked well. Cheers.
No, I love them all because John makes them family and he makes sure we know all of the names. Each person is credited for something they did. If you saw him being interviewed at 17 you would know how polite he was raised. I do have a soft spot for Venetta and I love it when she sings the first verse of Amazing Grace, John sings the second and then the music starts and Lyndsey sing with them both. It is beautiful. Lisa is just as good but she was in the audience I think feeding her baby. I don’t know anyone else who give the first part to a backup singers or does a whole song with just them. I don’t know the names of anyone else’s backup singers. Lisa always sings Angels with him. John knows how talented they all are and he enjoys sharing with everyone. He doesn’t just let his audience feel good. Thank you for your reaction.
Vanetta Fields, from USA moved to Australia and was one of Farnham's backing singers. In the early days she was a backing songer for Tina Turner. His backing singers are fantastic.
Nina if you want high try his cover of Who's Loving You with Human Nature. It's definitely worth watching, totally different style. I hope you're feeling better! That was an interesting note about that minor motif, I hadn't really noticed it but it plays such a big part in giving this song some light and shade.
You got it in a nutshell. They are a tight "family" unit. The bass singer was probably either Wayne Nelson or Lindsay Feild. Lindsay has a lovely baritone.
John is so loved by his audiences, that they are willing to stay all night; and just listen to him, whether it is singing, talking or joking. We just can't get enough of OUR John.
I went to his concert when he first brought this album out, he was great, he was having so much fun, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. He's naturally inclusive and welcoming of the audience, which makes for a fantastic unforgettable experience.

Thanks for another great reaction. There is an amazing acapella rendition of a Stevie Wonder song from this same concert 'Love's in Need' well worth a listen
Nina!!! I hope you are feeling better. Loved this reaction to Two Strong Hearts. John just sings his heart out every time, live he is amazing. From the same concert, you would love "Thats Freedom", almost like an anthem song. 🙂
When you are there in the audience he makes you feel like your in his living room. I’ve seen him live 3 times and I wish I could’ve seen him more. He’s our song hero he’s our voice he’s Australian
Thanks Nina, that just inspired me to play some tracks from my Two Strong Hearts album with John & Oliva N-J that I've neglected for a while. Feeling snug & warm & on a 10°C cold Aussie night. I really enjoy JF singing with Anthony Warlow, a classicly trained opera and musical theatre (baritone) star from our stage via London & New York. John accompanying Anthony singing Granada (from The Main Event 1999 concert tour) is great fun & Please Don't Ask Me duet with Olivia is beautiful. If you do watch Granada observe Anthony's breath control & be aware that a few years prior he'd had a sustained battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (& won). Please continue to feel better.
Great song. He was HUGE (in Australia) late 80s into 90s. Always famous, but the Whispering Jack album ushered in a whole new level - and some albums just after WJ. That stadium crowd went back out of sight.
Love it. Others have mentioned Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas. It would be interesting for you to hear him individually or with his band, Southern Sons. He probably is the one who sounds the most like John. He was on the guitar with a red shirt and long hair. Hope you get better soon ❤
Hi Im from Australia I don't know if you know but Johnny Farnham he was born in England he moved to Australia years ago. I reckon Australia is bliss to have someone who iwas has good has johnny
Bummer that you are sick, summer flus are no fun, hopefully, you'll get well soon. I get the feeling that you would have loved to be on stage with John as part of his band,,, need a time machine lol. Cheers Nina
Hey Nina, Great reaction. Check out his Chain Reaction (High Quality) Has a mouth organ in the thumbnail. Try telling someone that his band don't enjoy themselves onstage.
Another great Jon reaction Nina, thanks. BTW has anyone mentioned that Angelina Jordan has dropped an EP with six original songs? Just like John's songs I know you like your Angelina songs
John can sing true tenor notes. He does Granada with Anthony Warlow (whose been the Phantom of the Opera a few times) John sings higher notes & in Spanish
Hi Lady, from the same concert, can you make the analysis and reaction to the song "That's Freedom"? It's a fantastic song. Thanks so much for your videos. A big kiss from Italy.
Nice one Nina. The guitarist with the long hair is Jack Jones who is a great singer in his own right. His band Southern Sons had a big hit in Australia with Heart In Danger. Check it out if you get a chance.

Hope you're feeling better Nina. I'm loving your reactions to John's performances - your commentary is really informative. Please do "Chain Reaction" next - it's a bit more upbeat rockabilly and is one of my favourites. It also has Lisa (one of his backup singers) rocking out with a guitar. ua-cam.com/video/sQuXfYNFQ9Y/v-deo.html
Im certain this song was released in late 87 . I was dating a beautiful lady and she had a big crush on john farnham and i was jelous. We would lie down and watch him on the portable tv just checked it was 88 . I must have been 22 .i really thought his best stuff was with LRB .my guess your comment you can tell he loves it is an underestimate. Was like he lived to entertain.if you want a buzz look up john farnhams appearances on hey hey its saturday night . Was very entertaning
I love John Farnham but love your reactions more yOU NEVER EVER SEE AN EMPTY SEAT AT HIS CONCERTS. I recocnize that bass player from the Little River Band
Hi Nina, can you react to a famous Aussie band, These guys are great. Johnny Diesel & The Injectors - Soul Revival (1989) Another one of their famous songs is A cry in shame.
When you have a full tent venue with over 1 thousand people who all paid over $100 dollars to attend... All Singers and Musicians better be very good at what you do. And this is what is very rare now becuase no one pays for music.
Get musician a legend! But watch another Aussie artist Kasey chambers sing lose yourself (Eminem cover) its will seriously blow your mind too!!!!!!!!!!’
This performance definitely helped me feel a little better ❤

If he only ever sings again in the shower it's still the greatest thing to happen.
ooh I just read that, I love how much she goes into the live music scene in the 60s

He has to be one of the most involved/engrossing performers ever, and also totally loves what he's doing. Love Farnsey!
Your perfect pitch and overall musical prowess makes these live performance reactions all the more pleasing!
No, I love them all because John makes them family and he makes sure we know all of the names. Each person is credited for something they did. If you saw him being interviewed at 17 you would know how polite he was raised.

@@ninaschofieldThere's no such thing as a 'Summer Flu' in the Northern Hemisphere. I hope you tested for Covid.

Thanks for another great reaction. There is an amazing acapella rendition of a Stevie Wonder song from this same concert 'Love's in Need' well worth a listen
So great to finally see some international recognition to John. Totally deserves it

Australian Legend is John Farnham 🇦🇺🏄♂️🍹 We truely love him & idolise John ☺️ The voice of our country 👍
John is not just a singer, he is a true showman and a star since 1967.
I hope you feel better soon Nina! Always a blessing with these reactions ❤️
Thank you!! 😊
Not only a great singer he is a fabulous entertainer with great audience rapport.
I love your commentary about Farnsey. ❤ he is the #GOAT
Almost all of Johns original songs were written to his wife Jill ,I can tell by the love and emotion in his voice. Burn for you makes me cry.

I love John Farnham voice and song but I was also amazed by your skills and knowledge about music.
Aw thank you so much! I just love what I do :)
Please react to Kasey Chambers - Lose Yourself, she's an Aussie singing legend.
Great reaction… .. Same concert… . In Days to Come… . another great performance
I hope you all have a great day tomorrow, and stay safe!
Love it. Others have mentioned Jack Jones aka Irwin Thomas. It would be interesting for you to hear him individually or with his band, Southern Sons. He probably is the one who sounds the most like John. He was on the guitar with a red shirt and long hair. Hope you get better soon ❤
Great Voice!! Great Artist! Great Track! Great Reaction!!!! Thank You so Much ✌
Thanks for watching!
I’d say the backing singer with the deep voice is the handsome hunk Lindsay Fields. He is brilliant too and has been with John for decades.❤
The backing vocalist I think you are talking about is Lindsay Field with Lise Edwards and Vanetta Field with Chuck McKinney

The guitarist jack Jones is an amazing artist aswell.. has a song called hearts in danger.. check it out
Love these reaction videos!!! Please do one on Elvis' performance of 'If I Can Dream'
The low tones is Lindsay Field ❤
Hey Nina, Great reaction. Check out his Chain Reaction (High Quality) Has a mouth organ in the thumbnail. Try telling someone that his band don't enjoy themselves onstage.
The "bassey backing vocal" is Lindsay Field.
You're right Nina. You don't go to a Farnsey concert, you go to a party.
As of today he has made it public through his family, he is cancer free.
You need to watch to documentary..John Farnham- Finding the voice...
Another great Jon reaction Nina, thanks. BTW has anyone mentioned that Angelina Jordan has dropped an EP with six original songs? Just like John's songs I know you like your Angelina songs

Nice one Nina. The guitarist with the long hair is Jack Jones who is a great singer in his own right. His band Southern Sons had a big hit in Australia with Heart In Danger. Check it out if you get a chance.
I thought, You were there was the big hit for Southern sons? It was so long ago I’ve forgotten 😂

Beautiful Review by a beautiful woman of a beautiful song :)
🌟🌟 there is a video called vocal range of john farnham , it shows his range everywhere between a to g irs unteresting to see 🌟🌟🌟🌟🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Also see John singing live Its a Long Way to the Top ACDC Cover with the MSO ua-cam.com/video/73X_z_zW4Sg/v-deo.htmlsi=7e3R1eAIQnDQOHl3 and with Tom Jones in 2005 John was 56 and still had more in him but very respectful to Tom ua-cam.com/video/11o4jBgZAq4/v-deo.htmlsi=N1nOanT7Z4riiJGT. 🥰😍🤩

"David and Phil" = David Hirschfelder and Phil Buckle
I love John Farnham but love your reactions more yOU NEVER EVER SEE AN EMPTY SEAT AT HIS CONCERTS. I recocnize that bass player from the Little River Band
Hi Nina, can you react to a famous Aussie band, These guys are great. Johnny Diesel & The Injectors - Soul Revival (1989) Another one of their famous songs is A cry in shame.
Try “Chain reaction “ from the same concert, Steve Williams kills the harmonica.
When you have a full tent venue with over 1 thousand people who all paid over $100 dollars to attend... All Singers and Musicians better be very good at what you do. And this is what is very rare now becuase no one pays for music.
Whatta classic. Overrrrand overrr
Join the band Nina 🙂
React to the duet with Olivia Newton-John

Is there an antisemitic message hidden here, "from the river to the sea?" 🤔😳
Hardly. The lyrics are “reaching out forever like the river to the sea”. It’s a romantic metaphor, not an anti semitic message. Goodness me.
Nina, that whole show is full of great performances, and it's all on UA-cam
