i had a mad obsession with solatorobo when i was younger. I was 7 i think, my dad was an the army so i havnt seen him much at this age. my mom sent me and my siblings to a man's house who was a close friend to the family. His name is Daniel and going to his house was always wonderfull, actually he was making us forget about how far our dad was. He had a lot (200+) wii and ds games. one day i found about this game and it was like finding gold, i wasnt expecting that. i loved the songs and the atmosphere so much. The characters speaks french and i was so confused bc i am french so i tought they all lived close to my house. One day i wrote a letter and put it at my window so Red and Elh could catch it. My brother and my mom found it and decided to write my me back as red. i recieved the letter and i cried so much. this letter conversation lasted 2-3 years. I truly believed that everything was real. i grew up and understood that all was fake but it was good as long it was. everytime i hear this opening i feel like im at Daniel's house, playing videogames all day and eating whatever our parents didnt want to buy. He died in 2020, he was rly sick and he was hidding it. But thank you so much Daniel for all you've done for us and for all those great memories. Today solatorobo is my biggest inspiration for my art project. next year i will start my art studies (animation, illustration and videogames) and my project will have many references to solatorobo :)

In hindsight it probably would have been a lot better if this was started as an anime and later adapted into a game. The story is there, the setting is there, and the animation is definitely there, but the game just wasn't popular enough to justify doing anything else with it. If a series was made with even a portion of this video quality it would have been a hit, then the games would practically make themselves. I hope CC2 comes back to this world sometime.
The devs have said that they can;t remake it unfortunately. Guess the best we can hope for is more expansion of the lore through new releases like Fuga.
The little tail bronx universe is their passion project and they are only focused on expanding it. With their limited budget for this project the can't make remakes right now

I am glad about the fact that I discovered this game by chance as a kid and was able to experience it without being biased and having preconceived notions. Because if for example I had discovered it in this day and age, I'm ashamed to admit that the stigma of being "a game full of furries" would have surely made me think twice about picking it up and potentially missing out on this great experience. So if anyone sees this and thinks of picking it up, I recommend doing it if you wanna experience a great story regardless of what you think about the character design.

I still can't listen to this song without tearing up a bit. It's so beautiful, and the incredible animation of the intro reminds me exactly why this remains my favorite game even to this day. The characters were memorable and charming, the plot was moving and intriguing, and the whole soundtrack for the game is still among the best out there. If someone were to crowd source a sequel, or even anything else for the Little Tail Bronx series, I would seriously contribute a few hundred dollars to the cause. I want this series to be picked up again, even more so than Firefly! Gorgeous game, spectacular music. I might have to replay it again, now!

I'm going to say this straight up. The way this video was made, with a bunch of anime like animation, should've been turned into something more. Like an actual anime series, one that would attract hundreds of thousands of fans. This whole game has and had potential to be so much more if more work and thought would've been put into it. Such as making it a full detailed game for PC or next gen consoles, adding fully voiced dialogue for English/Japanese voices on the characters, all the characters, not just certain ones and certain dialogues spoken. And a full anime series that would've became a popular series due to the fact of how wanted the game was, how popular the maker is, and how distinctly different the race of characters and the world they live in was. Straight up said.

That's pretty much a trend for any old niche games that are well liked amongst people who played them. The poster child for that is Earthbound. The game had an horrendous North American release but it became a cult classic amongst those who played it. Since it sold so few copies in NA the prices went up like crazy when people realized that this game was good like one or two console generation later. Then Smash Bros. worsened the problem by making Earthbound go mainsteam after the fact. Now you can't get a NA copy in a good state that doesn't cost you a few thousands. Sola to Robo is that to a lesser extent because it is still far from mainstream.

Words cannot describe how PISSED I am that I missed out on this game. I didn’t even know about the Little Tail Bronx games until last year when an artist I follow started talking about Fuga: Melodies of Steel, and now I’m prepared to become the biggest god damn shill for this series in the hope that Cyber Connect 2 might be encouraged to remake this game.
There's a fan remake of Solatorobo in the works, it's called Dal segno al coda. It's something. And as much as I want a sequel, I'll be awesome if they made an anime
Gameplay was too easy. More of a leisurely stroll through the park than any form of challenge, but I can see this as forgiven given the fantastic story and world which simply kept me hooked. I kinda wish it could have been a visual novel or an anime instead though. The animation is top notch, and I really would love to see more misadventures of Red, Chocolate, and Elh.
With a game like this I actually don't mind the gameplay not being all that great. The story, characters and world are what I am here for and all the gameplay has to do is make me feel part of the world and not get in the way. Overly complicated or difficult gameplay can actually frustrate me in a story driven game. Since I want to progress the story but I'm stuck on a major roadblock of a level I just can't seem to get past. Also especially as a teen I liked ds games that were a little too easy since the majority of the time I'm playing them in less than optimal conditions. I had to go to school via taxi and it was over an hour long ride. But a large amount was through towns and countryside so plenty of bumps, people annoying me, noise, making sure I know when to get out, glare in the summer, tired after a hard school day. Quite often something that really challenges me in the taxi to/from school I could breeze through playing it at home at the weekend when fully concentrated on it.
Honestly, when I was reading the "Reception" section of this game's Wikipedia article, I was thinking, "so isn't this game basically a visual novel?" It places more emphasis on the 3D world than it needs to, tbh.
After all these years, my friend lent me his Nintendo DS so I can finally play this game for myself. I love it, and I'm looking forward to Fuga: Melodies of Steel
Since I got this game as a kid I replay it every year because it's a must. The game is amazing, the story is amazing, the gameplay is epic and everything the theme too is absolutely wonderful. Solatorobo may be my favourite game of all time

its been years since I played Solatorobo (I was still in high-school when it came out ) a friend told be about it and let me borrow it, took me a week to 100% the game , ( also since few know about it Solatorobo is a sequel to another game " Tail Concerto" , when I first played it all I could think was Furry version of " skies of arcadia " , there are just a lot of similarities , I wish both solatorobo and skies of arcadia could get remakes or remasters on switch or somthing
I would love to see this become a full blown anime, but at the same time it almost doesn't need to. The game itself manages to convey the sense of an anime so well that it's almost like watching one while simultaneously playing one.

I have so much memory from this game. The story, the character, the world, the music, all of it was memorable and I really miss those time. I can't even count how many times I replayed as a child and how much it deserves more recognition because damn, an old ds game being able to make me feel more than a recent game for PS4 is something...I know finding the game is hard nowadays and I wish every fan good luck ! Fugue on the Battlefield: "A dramatic strategy RPG and adventure story of dog-people and cat-people boys and girls. It inherits the world setting of Little Tail Bronx depicted in Tail Concerto and Solatorobo. It will also have shooting action and roguelike elements. The protagonists are 11 children whose parents were kidnapped by the Berman Empire. They pilot a huge tank called Taranis that they find along the way to save the adults, and throw themselves into violent battles."

Haha hello me from 4 years ago! You're not as fond of that fandom anymore but you still love the artwork haha. I still love this game. I still love the characters, the soundtrack, the world and hell even the gameplay. Man I was talking to my friends about what games had the biggest impact on me, and SolaToRobo was one of them! At the time i played it and definitely 16 year old (4 year ago me) learnt a lot from it, especially as the pretty depressed and low person i was, any kind of inspiring thing would push me on. It was around the same time I came to love Gurren Lagann too, which i guess makes sense. I learnt to get up no matter how many times i fell. It was a lesson i guess i just never noticed, but i don't give up now. I'm as stubborn as they come. I guess that's how here, 4 years on, I'm doing the degree i dreamed of back then. That and because i worked my ass off. To some extent. And it's why despite how much people told me to give up drawing at the time i didn't. 4 years on and you're still a little anxious and still make silly mistakes, but my god you got more confident. I can now draw stuff and not want to rip it in two! That's progress, right? You also now have a girlfriend of 3 years who loves your ass no matter how childish you can be, isn't that neat? well It's fun and kinda cheesy and silly to make a comment like this, but hey, I have my second year animation showreel to finish right now! have fun! Oh also a sequel never happens. It sucks I know. I want a sequel or a remake or something for switch. But at least tWEwY is getting remade!
I remember somebody talking about a "furry game" way back in 2010 or 2011 and happening upon the website for this game. Man, I remember it being so immersive and interesting and so much thought and time and passion put into this little game. The actual gameplay was a bit to be desired, but everything else really pulled you right in. I'm surprised I still have the whole thing, CD and all, from when I bought it off the shelf. I don't even remember if I beat the whole thing, but I don't think it matters either way if it left such a lasting impression on me.
It is 2020, and I am playing this game on a busted DS because I want to relive it again. The 10th anniversary of this game comes on 28 October 2020. I will make fanart for it in celebration.

Words cannot describe how PISSED I am that I missed out on this game. I didn’t even know about the Little Tail Bronx games until last year when an artist I follow started talking about Fuga: Melodies of Steel, and now I’m prepared to become the biggest god damn shill for this series in the hope that Cyber Connect 2 might be encouraged to remake this game.
There's a fan remake of Solatorobo in the works, it's called Dal segno al coda. It's something.
And as much as I want a sequel, I'll be awesome if they made an anime

Gameplay was too easy. More of a leisurely stroll through the park than any form of challenge, but I can see this as forgiven given the fantastic story and world which simply kept me hooked. I kinda wish it could have been a visual novel or an anime instead though. The animation is top notch, and I really would love to see more misadventures of Red, Chocolate, and Elh.
With a game like this I actually don't mind the gameplay not being all that great. The story, characters and world are what I am here for and all the gameplay has to do is make me feel part of the world and not get in the way. Overly complicated or difficult gameplay can actually frustrate me in a story driven game. Since I want to progress the story but I'm stuck on a major roadblock of a level I just can't seem to get past.
Also especially as a teen I liked ds games that were a little too easy since the majority of the time I'm playing them in less than optimal conditions. I had to go to school via taxi and it was over an hour long ride. But a large amount was through towns and countryside so plenty of bumps, people annoying me, noise, making sure I know when to get out, glare in the summer, tired after a hard school day. Quite often something that really challenges me in the taxi to/from school I could breeze through playing it at home at the weekend when fully concentrated on it.
Honestly, when I was reading the "Reception" section of this game's Wikipedia article, I was thinking, "so isn't this game basically a visual novel?" It places more emphasis on the 3D world than it needs to, tbh.

Since I got this game as a kid I replay it every year because it's a must. The game is amazing, the story is amazing, the gameplay is epic and everything the theme too is absolutely wonderful. Solatorobo may be my favourite game of all time
After playing Fuga, i can see almost all of scene in this game has similarity,
like the Vanargard
In the lore, the Vanargand actually defeated the two titans you see in Solatorobo.
I remember when I randomly found this game about 3 or 4 years ago while i was on vacation. I don't know what possessed me to buy it but I'm so glad I did :). I still say it needs an anime adaptation.

its been years since I played Solatorobo (I was still in high-school when it came out ) a friend told be about it and let me borrow it, took me a week to 100% the game , ( also since few know about it Solatorobo is a sequel to another game " Tail Concerto" , when I first played it all I could think was Furry version of " skies of arcadia " , there are just a lot of similarities , I wish both solatorobo and skies of arcadia could get remakes or remasters on switch or somthing
I would love to see this become a full blown anime, but at the same time it almost doesn't need to. The game itself manages to convey the sense of an anime so well that it's almost like watching one while simultaneously playing one.

I have so much memory from this game. The story, the character, the world, the music, all of it was memorable and I really miss those time. I can't even count how many times I replayed as a child and how much it deserves more recognition because damn, an old ds game being able to make me feel more than a recent game for PS4 is something...I know finding the game is hard nowadays and I wish every fan good luck ! I had the chance to find it at some second hand store and well I was so so happy that day

En effet cette chanson c'est du japonais, et elle est magnifique, mon dieu quand j'ai joué au jeu pour la première fois et que j'ai vu cet opening, je savais que j'allais adorer ce jeu. Et je ne m'étais pas trompé, la fin est géniale, un tel scénario est digne des grands films Ghibli !

Yeah I said that I had a good childhood 🍃 Btw now I have 17 years old and I played so many times that I lose the count, such a fantastic game my felows.

Solatorobo was an amazing game with an amazing story. Sure the gameplay was basic but hell I can tell you now if they made an anime for it, it would definitely be incredible.
And I'm happy to say, a sequel is planned :D
Haha hello me from 4 years ago! You're not as fond of that fandom anymore but you still love the artwork haha. I still love this game. I still love the characters, the soundtrack, the world and hell even the gameplay. Man I was talking to my friends about what games had the biggest impact on me, and SolaToRobo was one of them! At the time i played it and definitely 16 year old (4 year ago me) learnt a lot from it, especially as the pretty depressed and low person i was, any kind of inspiring thing would push me on. It was around the same time I came to love Gurren Lagann too, which i guess makes sense. I learnt to get up no matter how many times i fell. It was a lesson i guess i just never noticed, but i don't give up now. I'm as stubborn as they come. I guess that's how here, 4 years on, I'm doing the degree i dreamed of back then. That and because i worked my ass off. To some extent. And it's why despite how much people told me to give up drawing at the time i didn't. 4 years on and you're still a little anxious and still make silly mistakes, but my god you got more confident. I can now draw stuff and not want to rip it in two! That's progress, right? You also now have a girlfriend of 3 years who loves your ass no matter how childish you can be, isn't that neat? well It's fun and kinda cheesy and silly to make a comment like this, but hey, I have my second year animation showreel to finish right now! have fun!
Oh also a sequel never happens. It sucks I know. I want a sequel or a remake or something for switch. But at least tWEwY is getting remade!

I remember somebody talking about a "furry game" way back in 2010 or 2011 and happening upon the website for this game. Man, I remember it being so immersive and interesting and so much thought and time and passion put into this little game. The actual gameplay was a bit to be desired, but everything else really pulled you right in. I'm surprised I still have the whole thing, CD and all, from when I bought it off the shelf. I don't even remember if I beat the whole thing, but I don't think it matters either way if it left such a lasting impression on me.
I don't really understand why this game was so unpopular and underrated, can someone please explain?
