hello! thank you so so much for this helpful video. I am wondering approximately how many yards of yarn are needed for the full tote? thank you xoxo

      The pattern uses Medium (4) cotton yarn. For Color A, you'll need approximately 150 g/ 225 yds/ 5.3 oz. For Color B, you'll need approximately 80 g/ 120 yds/ 2.9 oz.
The amount of yarn, as well as the yarn I used, is also listed on the left hand side of the video starting at 2:28 😊

I was given a Merino wool yarn (4). Will that work for this bag?

You could use Merino Wool but I wouldn't recommend it for a couple of reasons. First, wool stretches more than a cotton yarn does, so the bag would end up stretching out significantly faster. You could line the bag with fabric to avoid the stretch. Cotton is typically more durable for usable items and can hold up against the wear that bags will take better than a wool or acrylic will. With wool, you might see a lot of fuzziness happen or "yarn halo". Merino is an especially lovely wool which I have used for items like beanies and scarves. Wool is fantastic for projects like that.
I know this likely isn't the answer you're looking for but I hope it helps! 💕
