The first stock you showed that was on your polymer lower is actually the same one i just put on my rifle. I have a magpul MOE stock but it has no sling swivel mount therefore you need to use one of the two guide holes. Neither work effectively for realworld application because the sling gets stuck behind the butt pad even when not switching shoulders creating a lack of consistency. Now I love the idea that first cheap stock has, which is the ability to wrap the sling around the stock with the guide on the top to keep it from going behind the butt pad. Just some two cents from some recent experimenting.. Funny to see myself find use in a shitty old stock
If you ordered a mil spec buffer tube it would be way cheaper than a new stick and then you could just throw away the commercial spec one so you never run into these problems again. I love those car-15 style stocks by the way. They are super lightweight and plenty sturdy for a 5.56. I don’t know if I’d leave one on a 7.62x39 though.
Just bought one for my m&p sport ll! Can't wait to get it this week! The stock stock (lol) is way too wobbly and cheap but other than that it's a great rifle. Great video. I'm glad I got this one over the very similar moe one as it seems the moe one has wobble to it.
We have one CTR, but have a dozen Roger's...Wilson Combat uses the Roger's stocks. TIGHT IS RIGHT! CTR is good to go, but prefer the Rogers. Normally around 75 bux, but found gray at 15.00 recently! Scarfed up! Magpul gets it done. Rogers just does it better. Like you, we avoid floppy n sloppy...great channel, we are subbed and bell rung!
I feel your pain. Ordered the wrong low profile gas block the other day lol was sorely disappointed when I couldn’t get my freefloat handguard put on since I had the wrong size gas block lol
still waiting for magpul to start producing one for the com spec DPMS Recon. Only black will be available. So far has been two months waiting. NO ONE has them. magpul said they are in the process of beginning production but no date yet when they will begin shipments to sellers.
Question I live in the state of New Jersey my AR-15 is pinned I'm 5 5 do I have to replace the whole butt stock and Tube to get it sized for my arm or can I just replace the buttstock itself?
Hearing those ammo prices now saddens me even further

Could you just church age out the buffer tube on the lower or is that not possible. I got my ar pistols from PSA and I’m unsure what the tube is
I'm slowly removing the magpul MOE furniture off my AR, I'm going back to the standard M4 patrolman look.

Outstanding, I have not heard of Rogers, now I have to look them up. Thanks for the heads up, I will look into Roger's.

If you don't mind gray, and maybe FDE, check ebay...Rogers are superior imo. If on sale, a no brainer.

I don’t really find that the extra 50% you pay for the CTR is really worth it over the MOE stock.
Thank you!

Can't you get a an adjustable stock? Not a folding, or collapsible. They have fixed stocks that are adjustable, just a little pricey
Good info, great job, thanks for sharing your experience and tips. Ordering one now that I know how to spot which is which.
Good, I can't believe I ordered the wrong one.
Is the mil-spec CTR still for sale?
I found a home for it :)
