    Wanted to give you some positive feedback. Many of your video's recently have been good, but none of them said "hey, that's clever, simple and I could use this!". This video hit the nail on the head. Excellent stuff.

      Yep, his shorter videos really shine when he has got a very handy versatile thing to show us, but I love a longer video for less "innovative" builds I guess. I just enjoy watching his process, but I like shorter videos like this to show of certain techniques. Love this channel

    Takes me back. Nice to see this style again! Shows all the things we have learned over the years. Brings us back to the simple and functional beauty that kept me here from the start. Thank you.

    Those would be a really good way to do a castle. Not sure if you've been to a real medieval castle, but it's really got the look and those blocks would be great for the walls and stairs up to walk around the walls. Just need a couple tower pieces and ramparts.

  • @lindybeige
    @lindybeige 5 місяців тому +6

    With care, you could get the stairs to tesselate together to make blocks.

    These look amazing. I have noticed how a green wash adds so much immersion to dungeon terrain or ruins.
    The little bit of green adds a lot life to dull gray walls. It's almost a magical effect.

    I sense you may do an additional companion video for making castle toppers. Wall with drawbridge/arches. Or tall arched bridges/aquaducts! This is also a great base for a 40k city wall. My mind is flowing with ideas!! Thanks for this video!!!

    Simple and effective, very nice! The nice thing about the stairs (besides being playable with minis) is that they'd probably be pretty slick on their side as walls to create a funneling effect in like a boss room or something.

    So, I just made a bunch of these and honestly, they're amazing! I finally feel like I have a technique that lets me construct multilevel dungeons with ease.
    One minor modification I added was that I replaced the top layer with a single sheet of foam core with a grid stone pattern. This helps with keeping the tops perfectly rectangular, so that they form a consistent floor plate for my minis to stand on.

  • @terrainaholic

    Almost forgot this technique!!! BEAUTIFUL execution!!!!! I did a broken brick wall system where I had zig zagging bricks then stack cut them and flipped them all so no two layers were the same then corner posted all the right angles and did 1 by1 flat brick tops to cover the top. Never finished it but its in one of my many tubs in the garage. Again BEAUTIFUL WORK!!!!!

    I love the innovation of cutting the small strips and then gluing them back together for the blocks. I'm definitely going to try this, with a little more weathering before I glue them back together (a couple rolls in the box of rocks) to see if I can get a little more rounding and wear on the edges. Fantastic build!

    Great idea, process, and presentation. I would maybe suggest adding 1x1 pieces especially if you are running virtual games and players need to be able to see over the terrain walls. Can do shorter walls depending on the camera angle and the taller walls for the sections that are more vertical in direction.

    Another one that may be good for weights would be alloy wheel stick on weights buddy .. they also have tight hold glue strip on the bottom ... its obviously very sticky as they don't fall off no matter how fast you go . Maybe worth giving a box a try

      Worked in a car shop for a while. Every time we did wheel balancing we took off any old weights and put on new ones. The used weights just piled up in a bin. Recycling them in a craft project would have been a much better option.
