This is a ridiculously good song. Steve Winwood is a tremendous talent, Chaka Khan is wonderful and complements him very well and Nile Rodgers is picking the guitar!
Steve Winwood is a pure master of his craft. He is the total package. I’ve seen him in concert 3 times and I’d see him 100 more times if it were possible.
I came here because I saw your reaction to Morissette and immediately subscribed .. never before saw this video. Like your style and musicality. Keep going for good music.
The supergroup Blind Faith (Eric Clapton, formerly from Cream, as guitarist: Steve Winwood, formerly from Traffic, as organist and singer; Ginger Baker, formerly from Cream, as drummer; and an excellent bassist/violinist) had a short U.S. tour (14 concerts or so) in July and August of 1969, and my then-17-year-old brother and my then-almost-14-year-old self were fortunate to win tickets to see Blind Faith from a radio contest held by the FM-100 rock radio station in our hometown of Memphis - the tickets were to the tour stop which was geographically "closest" to Memphis, which was the Sunday August 3, 1969 concert at Kiel Auditorium, in St. Louis. My brother and I flew up from Memphis on Delta Airlines, saw a (then-brand-new, premiering) film "2001: A Space Odyssey" in the afternoon, saw the wonderful Blind Faith concert at Kiel, that evening; however, it had some unexpectedly lengthy encores; this caused us to miss our late-night ticketed Delta return flight to Memphis. We tried to hitch-hike (as was mostly quite safe and quite customary, in those years) on the nearby I-55 expressway for a ride to the airport in St. Louis, to call our parents and ask them to wire funds for a new return-flight airline ticket; however, co-incidentally, a trucker who gave us a ride was going not to or near that airport, but was going straight through (in the wee hours of the morning of Monday the 4th) to a truck stop in West Memphis, Arkansas, before heading on I-40 south to Little Rock in Arkansas; of course, from our perspectives, it was a thousand times better and cheaper to do this, than to have gone to the St. Louis airport. We could then call our parents in Memphis from the truck stop in West Memphis, and explain the situation (there were no cellphones back then which would have allowed for an earlier call), and they were so delighted that we were both still alive and well that my father (a self-employed artist) left his office and picked us both us from the truck stop in West Memphis -- with NO questions asked !!!!! GREAT Memories -- except for the worries of my parents !!!!!
There is a longer version and also a rare European version. Good reaction. He re-did with his daughter (slow version). It was the first dance at my wedding and it segued to the Chaka khan part. And that went straight to Prince ‘s Let’s Go Crazy. I picked the song b/c my wife likes to be high and I like Steve Winwood.
Wow. It only took you over 4 minutes to recognize that Chaka Khan was doing the harmonies!! You didn’t mention that Niles Rodgers was playing guitar. Probably didn’t notice. Without him and Chaka, the song would not have been as great as it became. Chaka is WAY more than a backup vocalist! Niles is Way more than just a guitar player!
_Hello, there... thanks for watching and for your input. I doubt you listened to my commentary all the way through. Most people bounce to other videos, and that's okay. But had you stuck around until __5:20__ you would've heard me explain that she _*_was_*_ so much more than backup. Additionally, this is a reaction channel, not a research channel. The extent of my research is lyrical content only. Take away the element of surprise, and it becomes research, and that's not the purpose of my channel. Have a blessed day._
If you haven’t checked them out yet he was in several bands in the 60’s and 70’s with Eric Clapton(Blind Faith, Spenser Davis Group, Traffic, ….think there was another too. He was like a 15 year old prodigy Check out an old Blind Faith song ( written by Eric Clapton) he performed with Eric again in present times:Presence of the Lord: ua-cam.com/video/98XqT4kBWT4/v-deo.html too good. He was 73 this past May. Steve’s got soul in spades!!! Song could be interrupted both ways- Also another great song with Steve on vocals from the ‘60’s Can’t find my way back home --by Blind Faith. Also there is one from when he was 15/16 sounds come out of his mouth way older then his years! Nobody knows when your down and out: ua-cam.com/video/VwqsmNR_Q1M/v-deo.html

The song has double meaning and I have always loved artistist like RUSH, where the lyrics aren't so easy if you wan't to think, but it will make sense if you take some time. But as I said in this song the higher love means both the love between man and woman but to a bigger extend and when almost everyones most closest and loved persons ever are his or hers mother. But in this song it means the company of souls of two people who wan't more from the so called love, something that you can feel in your feets when you are standing and when you are looking at your loved one... something lasting.
this is one of the great dance song ever then. Steve and Chaka are great dou to this great performance .
LOVE this song, and this album.
