This shows his versatility, after two decades of being in three different bands that were popular playing a range of music covering psychedelic/rock/blues. In "Higher Love" he proves he can excel at pop music as well!
One of the most talented musicians out there and 1 of the best songs to come out in the early-mid 80s (imho). A great songwriter, amazing singer and an absolutely ripping musician on multiple instruments (he can play pretty much anything with keys or strings). "Dear Mr. Fantasy" from Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival highlights what a great guitarist he is.
Steve Winwood achieved fame during the 1960s and 1970s as an integral member of three major bands: the Spencer Davis Group, at age 14, (1964-1967), Traffic (1967-1969 and 1970-1974), and Blind Faith (1969). All three groups produced hit songs. That is the legendary Chaka Khan singing with him toward the end of this song.
Also try when you see a chance take it,roll with it,oldervstuff,so many but gimme some loving with Spencer Davis group and empty pages to start..great artist..he started writing as an early teenager back in the 60’s,a wealth of music
The one and only multi talented Mr Steve Winwood. If you want to go to where it all started for him check out “Gimme Some Lovin” by The Spencer Davis Group featuring a 16 year old (yes sixteen!) Steve Winwood on his legendary Hammond organ. He was also a brilliant guitarist. A real force of nature.
One of my favorite's Peace 😊✌️, Bring me a higher love ❤️ word's to live by. Your 70 year old forever Young Hippie Gary 💃🕺Great Reaction👍 Keep Dancing 💃🕺
I first got exposed to Steve Winwood when he was with The Spencer Davis Group, Then he formed the group...Traffic. After that.... Blind Faith. Then came his solo career with "Back in the High Life" which was a HUGE success. I recall buying the vinyl album back in 1986. I later purchased it on CD which I still have. Great reaction as always. Take care...
Steve Winwood performed an old blues tune on video when he was 15 years old called NOBODY KNOWS YOU WHEN YOU ARE DOWN AND OUT. Believe it or not , he sounds like a Mississippi blues musician from the old days. Try it, you will like it. It was performed in the mid sixties.
Steve is a top tier singer, no question. Was in late 60s band Traffic, Spencer Davis, great great solo artist. He was sooooo good an owner of a club hired him to sing being underaged. Incredible! N
Steve Winwood has a beautiful song, “Can’t Find My Way Home”, that was written and recorded while he was in the band Blind Faith. Blind Faith were an English rock supergroup that consisted of Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. They only released one album, Blind Faith, in 1969. Steve Recorded an acoustic version of the song a few years back. It is absolutely beautiful. Link below. “Can’t Find My Way Home” ua-cam.com/video/eoSn2Y-b6wI/v-deo.htmlsi=9byqKYlHCGkbnYs7
timeless classic! i NEVER tire of hearing this song 😊 my other two favourites of steve's are "while you see a chance" and "arc of a diver", both from ARC OF A DIVER (1981), my favourite of his albums, though BACK IN THE HIGH LIFE is great too. bottom line - you can't go wrong with steve winwood ❤
Love Steve Winwood! There is a song he is featured on when he was with the group, Traffic, called “Dear Mr. Fantasy”. From 1967. Really cool song for you to check out😉😁
Ty both again! Just great reactions of late. Nice programming decisions! Yes, the Greek called that highest form of love without expectation, 'agape'. C.S. Lewis writes brilliantly on this in his novel, "The Four Loves." Ty for reaction! Arc of a Diver! 😊 😊😊
If you are not already familiar with this song, check out an 18-year-old Steve Winwood as lead singer of the Spencer Davis Group on the awesome rock-and-soul song "Gimme Some Lovin' " from 1966.
If a person can't find a way to move to this one, they are probably deaf. Great tune and reaction. I recommend listening to a 15 yr old Steve Winwood in the song "Nobody knows you when you're down and out" when he was in The Spencer Davis Group. Thanks!
Nobody’s ever reacted to the first part of Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Chile ~ ok it lasts 15 minutes but it’s awesome and it features some wild organ played by Stevie Winwood
❤❤❤❤ love this song. He has several great ones😊
Musical legend. Thank you

I agree 👍 💯

We saw him 4 months ago. He was actually the opening band and sounded great. He opened for the Doobie Brothers.

This song was on the misheard lyrics RADIO 1 show many years ago.If you listen it sounds like he's singing ,BRING ME AN IRON LUNG.😅😅
You can't forget Chaka Khan there, absolutely annihilating her vocals in the last minute or two of the song. Legendary.
Please check out the Traffic live version of John Barleycorn Must Die.
did you spot Nile Rogers in the video
