- Welcome back, friends! In this video, I'm giving you a peek into the real estate market within Johannesburg, South Africa. I give you a tour of my apartment located in Sandton including amenities and the cost. The second part of the video is a tour of a penthouse located in Morningside that is on the market for sale. I included the price for this as well.
I have always been interested in moving to SA and been looking at videos, this apartment is STUNNING!! That balcony is breath-taking and I know if my mom visited me and I had a place like that, she would never leave lol. This apartment building is amazing, better than some here in the states.
This def gives me a idea of a place to stay after my lease is up, i am sticking to renting for a while. Great video nice seeing another African American in SA. I subscribed to your channel
Very nice and affordable. Good luck finding something like this for less than $4000 a month in Los Angeles.
US$810 monthly is excellent! Thank you for sharing💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Boy from London here, looking to relocate to SA, The Penthouse is f**king Amazing, but by myself would be just too big, your apartment however is beautiful especially the the view from your bedroom, £800 a month in London would get you a shoe box, I just need to find a remote working role and then I'm flying over, thank you for this amazing insight. really appreciate it and cant wait to see more from you.
It's actually 650pounds...The pound is way much stronger than the dollar in SA.
@@leomamofokeng5104 5:08 oh yh I get that, but the 800 was referring to the post covid price tag..... Or am i still wrong?
@@GCheff-ym4kh It's a recent vlog so yes you right bro
@@GCheff-ym4khthe lady said she is paying 800 dollars. I don’t think you should really look at the pre vs post covid prices like that because it all depends on current market conditions. Right now inflation is on the rise, but unlike during covid interest rates have skyrocketed!
Does it come with back up power generators?
Im glad you're enjoying your stay in SA, but girl that monthly payment is almost close to my net salary 😅 🙃
Wow. The penthouse is breathtaking.... But so is the pricetag 😅😅. My goodness... Anyway I enjoyed watching this blog and as a South African I wish you the best of times here...💛🧡❤
These apartments are for rich South Africans or Foreigners like Americans who have stronger currency than rand lol. Average South African would never pay something close to R20k per month for rent.
Hey Jasmine, the penthouse and your apartment is nice. It gives me a starting point when I return this year. Thanks for sharing and keep those great videos coming. Stay blessed!
Wuz up with it Art ✊
MASSA is still controlling you all.....................LOL
Johannesburg has the best roof top views. Your place is great!
Honestly for 18 mil u could get a stupid big house with a lift inside it.
Last time i saw a 15 million rand house that had 3 storeys and a firepit and large footage space.
I dont suggest spending that money on a penthouse.
If you dont want a big house, u could get a luxurious modern house for about $500k and you would save a lot of money.
Look around for other options coz i bet you you could find another place that is more breathtaking and modern for way less money.
Love the videos.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. 🙌🏾

@@kudaparait’s dope. Did a walk about in Waterfall and you can tell that in the future it’s going to be a very nice mixed use neighborhood
$800 bucks a month a 2 bed 2 bath luxury apartment and all those amenities is super nice!
I HAD to stop the video after one minute & subscribe!
Beautiful apartment & lovely view!
Looking forward to new videos!
Cheers!

I am just next to your building, in Sunset 😊😊😊

Amazing properties and love the prices

i love the penthouse so beautiful
Fabulous video. Thank you
I went to that Golds gym when I was there, very nice. And the front desk people were real cool, s/o to Freda with the dreads
That view is life!!!
I can tell you that that in the Anglosphere (U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand) the housing market is ridiculously high. Especially in major cities. South Africa is a bargain comparatively speaking.
Of course the whole north of Johannesburg area is pretty nice though I do like Morningside it seems like other parts of the area have more in way of restaurants and other recreational places.
How do the places you show deal with load shedding?
How do
Absolutely love this one!! 💯
I can't believe that is Africa? Am blown away!

That's very beautiful.
Very nice for single person
Yes we have big huts in Southafrica this livestyle
beautiful...
Hi Jasmin, very nice video. How do you deal with load shedding in your apartment building? Is there a back-up electrical system? I stayed on Grayston Drive, just down the street from Benmore, not sure if that's called Morningside or not...and I was a good walking distance from the Mandela Square. The water went out for over 24 hours at the apartment I was staying at, as it was out for that entire section of Sandton area due to a water main break/repair. Does your apartment have backup water in case of this kind of situation? Do you remember the water situation in this part of Sandton, which sounds like it's not too far from you, December 1 or 2nd, 2022? How did the water outage affect your building? I look forward to hearing from you with your responses. Thank you.
I like it but I feel like the some of the furniture is too big hence making the place feel small in some sections, with the right furniture placement and flow it could definitely sell. Buyers that will spend that much cash are more into energy, flow, theme and feeling that room gives them. Ohhh upstairs deck and main bedroom wow wow wow...the highlight for me.
Jas.. why is this video so good? It’s perfect. I’d say keep giving us content. Never know who really needs it 💯🫶🏾
Love your video
wow wow wow!!!! that place is gorgeous!!!! that is making me wanna run to SA lol
For the apartment that you are renting, did it come furnished or non-furnished?
Beautiful penthouse! Extremely overpriced indeed. But I guess it’s inflated by the location. For that money you can get way much more in the SA property market in my honest opinion.
I love your comment bro…are you actually in South Africa???
Yeah that one gives off rip off vibes. Yes its Sandton but she can get waaayy better for that amount.. R18m to spend on property anywhere in SA and you'll live like royalty. If you gonna spend that much on a penthouse, have to keep looking cuz there will be way better for that amount in that area , and can even get a really good house in Steyn City or Waterfall for that amount if open to other locations in jhb that probably will come with more value to the purchase amount
@@kgosiking4228 I need to link with you cats…I’m lookin*vto relocate & I’m actually comin*vto visit for a month in August for the sole purpose of surveying the land & figuring out where I want to live. Will be relocating at the beginning of “2024”….Definitely gotta get out the U.S. before next Presidential elections….
@@ronnieglover5694a month is not enough, remember that South Africa is big
I suggest visiting a couple of times before deciding where to move
1million is a lot 🙆🏾♂️ with 50% deposit. Thats steep. But i like these real estate videos. Much love from Amsterdam!
Nice 👍💯💯💯
The penthouses was cute ..lol all the space is on the deck though. They could have given mre space to the lounge though
Were you referred by an agent or how did you find this beautiful place?
Can you give me the info for the real estate agent that showed you the penthouse
Do they do short-term leases for anyone wanting to explore for a few months?
Beautiful ❤❤❤
That penthouse is overpriced, and definitely not worth it all. You can get an actual 4 bed mansion in some estates around the same area.
I'll b in Johannesburg Friday staying a couple months
What is the monthly maintenance fee for the penthouse? And taxes? Utilities?
What is the name of the apartments called? I plan on looking up more on this.
Lovely where about in Sandton is the apartment
Shyyyttt a 2/2 gonna run ya at least 1700 plus power in Florida and you ain’t gettin no penthouse for damn sure lol SA looking good!
You did a very good job on this video, your voice is very welcoming ! what is the building name please ?
Thank you for showcasing our country and city !
BUT... and I wanna apologize in advance, for glossing this with a tinge of negativity... Honestly - How many black South Africans live in that area?... It'd be generous estimate to assume 25% of the tenants there are black. Much as we are proud of the exhibit thats attached to our home country - it also deeply saddens us that it seems all this was/is meant for the white minority in this land of Africa. But thank you nonetheless - Bring the American Africans HOME PLEASE!!!!
Your obsession with race is toxic.
The majority of people living there are black what do you mean? Pull up your socks fellow
We coming to take it OVER!!!! We taking it back
Try to learn how to trade crypto currency or Forex maybe after 3 years you will buy this apartment too. Don’t just blaming other people
Less complainants more working
Wow you did get a good deal on that property...then again I'm thinking of walhat we pay in Cape town and all the amenities you have included its a steal.
I understand it is beautiful because Sandton is the best and richest part of Johannesburg. Is it safe?
Thank you, ma'am.
The apartment is much nicer that the penthouse
Hi it’s a 13 pro?
Beautiful South Africa is another great option to relocate with prices so affordable ❤
A million dollar is not affordable for a penthouse without a golf course. Jeez!
I LOVE IT
I REALLY NEED TO MOVE
Does building have a generator to combat load shedding?
Yes
I like it just not some of the design choices and the layout doesn’t really flow. I’d keep looking for sure or try to talk her down $100,000+ so I could use that to upgrade some of the finishes.
Main bedroom or primary bedroom
I'm an American
In London something equivalent is £4k+
Let me be clear. This place is amazing and I have saved it to my list. But somebody let me know am I Trippin or does that rooftop not have a rail? 😳
The building you're living in is extremely nice. What's the name of that building?
Jasmin, you need a South African gent, im available by the way nkosazana
Hi Jasmin, Why do you live there? Do you like it and was it for your job?
Wheir do you get your food? Because I’m assuming that the area is an upper class area.
Hey Jasmin, you said you can get 50 % finance if you livebin south africa, how do you go about that, and also how fo you get your money transferred here to buy property or land, please reach out to me if you can advice me, i would really appreciate it. God bless
Does this building offer any Airbnb?
Was there a credit requirement for you to move into the apartment? I'm just curious. Thanks!
I thought in africa they dont utilize a credit system. You gotta be liquid.
In South Africa, they do credit check for rentals
@nomathembamokhotlane705 thats interesting. I wonder what financial system they utilize.
@@raidergainzx5290 Remember Africa is a continent not a country. What happens in Ghana or Nigeria's none existent credit system doesn't apply to other countries in the continent. South Africa does a rigous credit check for rentals.
@@tyali84 I get the difference. I was probably speaking too general, but i know in Nigeria you either got it or you dont. And the weath gap is crazy.
R25 million for THAAT, there's no time you could have sold that for R25 million. Even R18 million too high. Probably worth R12 million MAX.
Did she sale this?
Do they allow you to rent and do Air BnB on the apartment?
Absolutely no sub-leasing!
Do you use the kitchen sink to wash your hair?
Hahahajaha

Hi sis, can I have a pet in this building?
i think it should be lower; there are a lot of renovations that need to be done.
$800 👀... buyer's market in Johannesburg. What's the catch, the city giving District 9/Chappie vibes? Load shedding?
Let me guess, you from Ghana? Why is it that you guys from west Africa are so much bitter and envious of South Africa? Is it because we more developed and you feel left out? Is it our fault?
@@lozi4163 Well, that's the point. There'd have to be a catch for such low prices in one of the most developed cities in Africa... and it'd probably be loadshedding or crime or both.
@@kwameoluwasomi1518 South Africa produces more electricity than the entire west Africa put together, i know is envy and jealousy speaking but all those resentment are not healthy simply because no sane person will chose Ghana over SA. Sandton is very every safe, you seem to confuse a nation that is transparent which can produce proper data with thirds world such as Ghana, you countries are not safe you just too poor to have resources for proper data. There are many Black Americans who left Ghana because is sh*t show but i never came on any of the content they made about leaving your country, i don't even view content about Ghana. SA best of what Africa has to offer and you'll obsession and insecurities proves my point
@@kwameoluwasomi1518 lol you should have said this in the beginning because your wording was giving bitterness.
@@palesamogorosi8939 Nah… I think anyone getting that precious over their country or city needs to check themselves.
Maybe because I see so many places, but both places were okay. The penthouse MB was nice but way overpriced.
Only 50% financing is not for the faint of heart
The price of that penthouse is ridiculous. Waste of money if you ask me.
Definitely targeting foreign investors. I doubt locals would spend that much
Even as a foreign investor, I don't see the value of the penthouse.
What country is this
South Africa, Johannesburg, Sandton
How does the credit system work in SA when comes to getting an apartment?
For residence Bank gives you Bond for 20 or 30 years. Some require a little deposit but you do get full funding for everything. Credit score, Proof of Income, that's it.
@@zusibone Is credit score required to rent an apartment (not buy)?
@@michaelthompson4418 not really. Only proof of income to check affordability and 1 month deposit. In Johannesburg there are places where you pay 1 month deposit and pay 50% rent and that's it. Or you can arrange to pay 2 months deposit in 3 months whilst paying the rent. For cash flow purposes.
@@michaelthompson4418 yes it is
looks cleaner then detriot
It’s actually cleaner than Seattle.
It is. We need Africans to teach America how to keep the oceans clean too.
