Well done Paul. You make me smile. I live in Brisbane and I have never experienced 0 degrees. In fact if falls below 20 C I put a jumper on. It's what you get used to of course. Great video.
I have just found your videos of building Wills kits and really enjoyed them as I am just venturing into building my own Wills kits. Your videos are a great help. I notice your last video was 1 year ago. Will you be doing any more?
Paul you've done so much extra detail which really brings the whole scene to life. I love the ivy to hide the gap, perfect excuse for putting some greenery on. Until next time, Alex.
Hi. Looking for a terraced house similar to yours but with the 2 door together at the end if the building. like a one up one down. looks like a scratch build to me... all the best Tony
Tony, you could still look at this as an option if the rest of the setup works for you. Remember, all windows and doors have to be cut out by the builder so if you wanted doors at the end of the building instead you can just make the relevant changes. Paul
Details make a world of difference! This just went from a fantastic piece of modeling to a breath-taking scene! You left me thinking I could walk down the street past those houses. Very nicely done Paul! Best, John
¡Hola buenas noches Paul! Another excellent lesson in both interior and exterior decoration - clever use of deja vu with the yard items as well! Have a great time in Glasgow and, don’t spend too much 🤪 un Salud, Gary
Beautiful work Paul, love the way the doors sit within the walls. They look as if they've been collecting grime and dirt for over a hundred years :-) Cheers Joachim
Hi Paul. I just discovered your channel today and what can I say other than brilliant. Just missing one small detail on the chimney pot - a tv aerial. Just so that the good inhabitants of this house can watch auntie Beeb & Coronation Street....
Thank you vijeo, I’m extremely pleased to have you along for the journey. A tv aerial, I like that idea and it had never occurred to me. Watch this space. Paul
The houses look terrific, but you missed the flashings around the chimneys and fascia boards on the gable ends. just me being picky. The mangle, bins and bath are a nice touch. I was lucky enough to have missed the tin bath by the fire routine - although I do remember a bath in my mum's old china Belfast sink lol
What a wonderful scene. Thanks for the tips with the kitchen roll and the lighting. I have to the same job with two kitbashed dapol semi detached houses that i have covered with brick plasticard. I start tomorrow with it. So it is very useful for me. 👍
@@GalgormHall Afraid not Paul - I'm working! I was up today and I think you'll enjoy it all. Saw Richard (New Junction) but he was busy on Hornby duties - no rest for the wicked. Cheers
Lovely video as always Paul. Nice to see those little details being added, it just finishes the "full picture". The scene outside the house is looking fantastic! I really like the look of that dark backyard, it really shows a great atmospheric view of the layout's period/era. 16:00 similarly in a project of mine, I was carefully applying the second coat of paint on some very fine platform canopy patterns when I slipped (it was the paintbrushes fault!) and I had to carefully manoeuvre the part back in with a pair of tweezers! GWR
@@GalgormHall Paul, you don't really have "fat fingers". Seriously, the quality of detail on your layout shows the delicacy you put into making your layout the "best that you can". 👍 GWR
Wonderful details and finishing touches, especially those windows and internal diffuser walls. Would be interesting to see a very small amount of light allowed into one of the unlit rooms through a limited aperture in the internal walls as if there was a doorway left open or just ajar, though it might just be lost at normal viewing height.
Hi Paul another great video mate the house is looking great mate have a good trip to modelrail Scotland I will see you in Bangor in April mate Lancaster station is coming on great on my layout the backscenic is in now there is still a lot of work to do but I am getting there mate clive
I´m not into model railway but in building and flying RC planes. A few years ago I went for a cnc mill to build my models. I´ve just finished my latest homebrew project of a plane with a span of 2.5m and a 110cc 2cyl 2 stroke engine. Have you ever thought of going for a cnc mill? I don´t really like those plastic kits. I prefer wood. The only thing I regret about my cnc is that I haven´t bought it earlier. :)
Its not something I’d even heard about before to be honest. I enjoy the plastic Models and scratch building too but for me wood isn’t an area I have much interest in. Sounds like a great project you’ve just completed though. Paul
Hi there fantastic work.im starting my own I was thinking maybe you could tell me we’re the best place to get 00 gauge weathered buildings from I don’t like the card kits so preferably resin or plastic based.kind regards
Thank you Aron. Hornby and Bachmann have both produced resin builds ready to place on the layout. These are well detailed and painted and some do come with a level of weathering applied too. Simple washes can enhance these further if so wished. There are also a number of smaller manufacturers producing very good laser cut kits with embossed brick. These of course would require painting and weathering yourself but these skills can be learned fairly quickly. Hopefully that gives you some help. Paul
This looks great! Some fantastic tips there, thanks! Did you get the dustbins, ladder etc. from a show or are they available online? I ordered this kit a couple of weeks back and I'm looking forward to making it when it arrives.
Glad you enjoyed it Ben. The kits were all bought online. The ladder and window cleaner were a kit from eBay but I don’t remember the brand. The dustbins are from Langley I think. Good luck with your kit build, they are testing models to build but do look great once complete. Paul
Not at all Mick. Two videos have gone out in the last two weeks showing my latest build and I also did some work for Hornby Magazine. I will admit to the layout taking a bit of a back seat at the minute but I’m back on it with the hope to have a video out pre Christmas on plans for 2021. Thanks for enquiring though. Paul
It's really worth to paint and weather the buildings. Nicely done
Well done Paul. You make me smile. I live in Brisbane and I have never experienced 0 degrees. In fact if falls below 20 C I put a jumper on. It's what you get used to of course. Great video.
Thanks Alan. 20 degrees here is summer time to us and nearly too warm. As you say, it’s what you get used to of course. Paul
Fabulous Paul, great tips on the curtains and water bucket, see you tomorrow at SECC, cheers Steve
Thanks Steve, let’s hope the flight goes as planned. 🤞🏻Paul

Excellent modelling there Paul. Your lighting diffuser works really well. LED lighting can be very over powering but you nailed it there.
Thank you Dave, it was the most logical approach for someone who’s knowledge of electronics is non existent. Paul

Stunning scene. Always feels great when all those little jobs are done and the scene is complete.
