You are the only one to talk about the o rings. Thank you its very important! When it starts sucking air it will make you think your fuel pump is going out.
Thanks a lot for your video! I also didn’t let off the pressure but it took some patience to get the tool in there the right way and get the line to pop off. Persistence is definitely key there. Thanks again! 💯🙏🏽
no kidding! My 05 yukon XL that has spent its life in SE SD, & eastern NE is gnarly & not in a good way! I have to soak everything for hours or days including the quick connects (not quick disconnect). Replacing the fuel pump & the lines going nto the nylon fittings were so rusty & swollen even after soaking for days I ended up having to cut & splice new nylon fittings going to the fuel pump. An easy few hours job has taken way too long.
Thanks, this is a job I've never had to do before so I definitely appreciate your great video. This one helped me replace my cousins fuel filter. Now I'm about to replace the fuel pump. 👍
@@2carpros hope I never ever have to do that job again 😅 I think since I don't have a car lift and since my help didn't show up I'm definitely turned away from removing fuel tanks forever. But I got the job done so once is enough for me.
I have a real question..... how do i know if its time to replace it. .. my 2000 suburban takes 3 or 4xs to start, then it will run for a lil while then cut off... it used to run and i could go to work but now it stays on for about 10-15sec then cuts off..... one guy told me my throttle body needs cleaning or replacing but when i mash the gas it sputters and has to catch up b4 it drives regular.... idk but i need a answer so i know what parts to buy
Would pulling the relay for the fuel pump help with getting rid of the fuel line pressure or will it still be there since it has no where to go until the filter is removed. Someone told me I should stall the engine out first but seems pointless.. Thanks!
Pulling the relay will do nothing to the fuel pressure while the engine isn't running. I wouldn't stall the engine, I like a little pressure in the line, helps get it off easier. Just remove the gas cap afterwards to cut down on flow and put a vacuum cap over the line. It honestly doesn't matter. You are getting gas everywhere, its a fuel filter. Be careful and wear protection. Thanks for watching!
The engineers hate mechanics design the placement and design of this filter. I've replaced fuel filter on other vehicles before, no problem. THIS one I'm having a lot of issues with.
I typed in the search How to change a fuel filter on a 2012 Chevy Suburban. I got your video but you said 2000. Will these steps be similar for my 2012?
I ran out of gas about 2 weeks ago I grab the gas can that had a little bit of water in it and my truck hasn't been running for the past month and now it's seized so I'm going to try to put a new fuel filter in it
You might want to drain the tank and try gas without so much water in it. Also check fuel pressure to rule out the pump going bad. Thanks for watching!
I have a Suburban 2006 base 5.3 flx. I go to the AcDelco web page and no fuel filter is on there for it. NAPA has a filter but out of stock. Advanced auto dosent even have any listed. why is that. PF-1000 K&N Fuel Filter is the best i can find but now I wonder if it is the riight one

I have a 2004 silverado 1500. I CANNOT find the fuel filter. It is not located anywhere. I've been searching for 30 min, thinking I'm blind. I have read that chevy in 2004 decided to put in a lifetime filter located inside the fuel tank. Can anyone verify this? Anyone else have this issue? Any response would be amazing thank you.
@Thaddeus Coston yes, if it's not there underneath driver side seat where many videos show, then it is indeed in the fuel tank. Not sure why some trucks have the in-line filter and some do not. But for my truck, it's in the tank which SUCKS.
must be nice to work on vehicles that arent covered in rust. Try doing that where i live and you'll be there all day and you'll be replacing fuel lines.
So there is no way the fuel pump can accidently turn on. I leave the key in the ignition when it's on the lift so it can be in N when I let it back down. Thanks for watching!
Yup. Changed plugs, wires, coil, injector and updated valve cover to prevent the oil fouling issue. Still pitching a P0307 code and you can hear misfire.

Pretty sure 2012 doesn’t have inline fuel filter. It will be on your fuel pump inside the tank.

This procedure works ONLY if your fuel filter and fuel line are not rusted which it most likely is. Replacing a fuel filter is NOT this easy.
The lines are aluminum though. How could it rust?
