GALAXY STONE cut open w/ BIG SAW!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 вер 2021
- This lapidary adventure is filled with agates and crystal vugs inside GALAXY STONE! We cut up a bunch of amygdaloidal basalt & rhyolite to see what these host rocks are hiding. Many of them show breathtaking details, shown at the end of the video in a macro slideshow, but one of them, completed a bucket list item, which was to find a beautiful agate inside host rock. We would NEVER have found this Lake Superior agate unless we cut it open. I had so much fun cutting open and slicing these chunks of galaxy stone with my lapidary saw, I hope you had fun too! Thanks for watching :)

Hi Taylor! Just wanted to say it's such a pleasure to have found your channel. Your passion and wonder shine through the videos, and you are such a genuine person. You're not trying to be a character, and that makes you stand out to me. Keep being yourself, and thank you for taking us on your rockhounding and lapidary adventures!
👍, i like this ❤️
Yes! Well said!
That one, that one!!!!!! So gorgeous! Another thing to do to maximize your viewing pleasure is to look at these with a jeweler's loupe.I have some green stones like this, and looking at the dots with a loupe is on another level! So fun! Who knew it could be so amazing!
Super stuff... I finally found some that isn't so darned crumbly... first time trying to cut this stuff was a nightmare for me 🤣 my first slab ended up looking like a cookie that was left to long in the milk 😁
It’s 8:40am and now I want milk and cookies.. thanks George 😅 lol
@@GeodeCrackerCollector I have to find a good ginger snap recipe 😋
Amygdaloidal basalt is so pretty. It so looks like galaxies!
Wow! I love the “bucket list” rock! I bet there are actually planets out there that look similar to what was inside! Such cool & detailed pics of the vugs!
Fellow Minnesotain here! Thanks for the great videos.

The bucket list one, Now THAT is a galaxy stone 👍👌
Galaxy stone is a really cool material! The basalt and rhyolite are the perfect backdrop for agate, it really makes those agate bubbles pop! 💥
I absolutely love Galaxy stones! I never knew such a thing existed until one of your first videos about them. So stunning. I could look at them for hours. Looking forward to a polishing video of your best specimens. Thanks for sharing Taylor. Great video!
The "bucket" list one was truly a real "Galaxy" of planets.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Very cool pockets of quartz and banding inside these unique rocks!
OMG! OMG! Holy cats! Amazing!
🤘🤘
I caught what you did there. Tatooine, parsecs, clicks, baby Yoda and then the finale ...all while working on Galaxy Stone.
Your genuine excitement was so fun to witness. I like the same stone, but the slab cut with the more rounded orbs was my favorite.
THANK YOU!! I love Star Wars 😂 glad you enjoyed!

Can you imagine cutting into one and finding a football size agate?!? I’d lose it
Amazing video 👏👏
Thank you!
I loved them all but my favorite was at 20:25. The macros were cool.
🙏❤️
If you do a follow up of some of these polished cabs... that would be great. There are pieces there that I'd wear as chunky jewelry.
I will show it when I do
Love the galaxy cutting videos so I was excited yesterday when you posted about today’s video. 🤩
Hi Taylor, nice video! amazing what can be inside
I think I could watch you cut all day, its cool to see what's going on inside. The one from your Instagram short turned out so cool. Great work, thanks for sharing. Just wow
I have to go back and watch this one a few times. It's hard not too, its my favorite rock. Didn't even know about it until your videos! Just beautiful! Congratulations on the 20,000 subscribers!!!

Awesome! The macro slide show was so cool! Someone is a Star Wars fan!😂💯👍🏼
You betcha!
I have a rock that's really similar to the large gray one you didn't cut. Picked it up way out on the Keweenaw point. I was looking forward to seeing what was inside yours! Guess I'll have to wait. And subscribe. Sigh. lol
Every time someone says "seam agate", my brain hears "sea maggot". 😂❤
The big agate inside looks like a lady's head with white face and red hair parted down the side. Pretty kool!
I just started tumbling and have a saw as well but not sure which angle to cut I went side to side on my first but watching your way is helpful will do better in the future
Only 3 or 4 parsecs? That’s not bad! 🤣😅
Great video Taylor! You'll have to face polish one of those bucket list pieces!!
Would love to find some Galaxy stones-amazing stuff‼️
Hope you do!
Cool video, beautiful stones. Hopefully I'll be able to cut some of mine one day.
Love the surprises in rocks.
The one with the large agate looks like a butterfly. The other looks like the galaxy.
I have a petrified butterfly on petrified wood so beautiful
Love, love, love the micro slide show!😃
DUUUUUDE!!! That big one in the matrix is CRAZY!
I want to make a resin table with all my collections but then I wouldn't be able to check them out very easily ... hard choice lol
Thanks for a great video. I have been a rock hound my whole life. Liked and subbed!
Awesome! Thank you!
I found one similar to your Galaxy stone the other day and all the agate pockets are green I may have to cut it open now.
Do it!! Film it so I can see :)
@@AgateDad it's to big for my saw unfortunately but I'll try and find a smaller one and see how it goes.
Good luck!
Nice video! I really want to get a lapidary saw. I also have lots of material that I want to see inside.
Hi Taylor, Wow these are amazingly beautiful. So thankful I found your Chanel....
I am wondering if you sell and post to Australia?
As I have been searching for something extra special for my grandsons birthday, he is obsessed with anything about planets and space...
Thanks for your time
Jane
