The funny thing is that a looot of people criticize the fact that we speak English so much here. Most people are bilingual, but English is quite present. It was great to see Montreal through your eyes. I loved every second of it✨ Hope you had a pleasant stay in our beautiful city!!

I’m laughing so hard at the story of the guy you met on the plane because I’m currently DOING THAT WALK ACORSS SPAIN! It’s called the Camino and it’s 780km. I’ve just finished day 24 of walking and we have about 180km to go!
So happy for your travels! My husband and I traveled as much as we could early in our marriage before we had kiddos and it was the best decision we made! We did two long haul flights, it’s so fun! Hope this first travel treats you well and it’ll make you want more!

Seeing you try canadian foods is so exciting. Poutine is very hit or miss depending on the place. Some places have better fries but not as good gravy or the other way around. I hope you'll come back to visit more of Canada.
Once you get to Boston, you should really try to find a Brazilian bakery or buffet. Massachusetts is the state with the highest population of Brazilians, and our food is wonderful and absolutely foreigner friendly! (In case you're picky). Have a great and safe trip! Godspeed.

Cafes and shops are not open as early as in Australia in Europe and northern America (at least Canada?) bc people wake up later as the sunset is later and I guess it’s also less hot so no need to wake up early (coming from a french person but every Australian person I met was always used to cafes and shops opening earlier too haha)

Canadian here! Pouteeeeen is the English was of saying the food. Poutin is with an actual French accent. $1.59 is pretty cheap for doughnuts here too, because Tim Hortons is cheapish food, the more boutique handcrafted doughnuts are more like $4.00 here.

Omggg I’m from Boston!!! Ahhh def go to the art museum it’s beautiful and Copley square. There are also some areas outside of Boston that is beautiful and you can visit Maine too, it’s about a 3 hour drive from Boston I think
poutine is my ultimate late night/take out junk food of my dreams as a Canadian hahaha. its poutine (pronounced poo-teen) in English and then poutine (pronounced poo-tin) is the French pronunciation. ps, also a Canadian, during my first visit to Montreal I was also shocked at how French it was, but the Quebecois government really push to prioritize the language there
Poutine is a classic at a hockey game and after a night out 😂 the best ones are always in the little fast food restaurants (don’t know how to call them in english: cantine) 😂
i have an long flight next year. i am also going to new york but in winter. i know it is going to be cold but it is going to be so much fun. i am also going to los angles and we have an night layover on the way there and back
