Wallahi I can’t even keep track of the number of women I’ve observed in the world who are very good looking but have horrible personalities. When a woman is extremely attractive she can get away with some of the worst crimes and sins you can think of. It’s quite scary. If you do want a beautiful woman, it’s better to marry a woman who is naturally beautiful than a woman who only looks pretty because of committing tabarruj (makeup, tight revealing clothing, etc.) And of course she has to be someone who fears Allah, fulfills her Islamic obligations, and wear correct hijab.

That’s one of the wisdoms of lowering your gaze as is commanded in the Qur’an. By not looking at women too much, you keep your threshold for attraction low. It helps keep your expectations in check so that even average looking women look attractive to you.
