I asked a handful of people why they celebrate mawlid. Firstly they were deeply offended that I believed they were celebrating the prophets (saw) birthday. They said they were gathering to praise Allah and during that gathering they remembered the passing away of our prophet (saw) and thanked Allah for our messenger. They said the meeting was solely to praise Allah, like a dikr session. They also explained that when someone passes away we generally think of them on the anniversary of their death. The prophets saw means so much to them, why wouldn’t they remember him. I suppose in this video they explain the exclusivity on a specific day is of concern. I’d like to see a video that took on their perspective as most videos claim mawlid is the celebration of a birthday, when I’m hearing it’s a remembrance of his passing.

Very true. While physical attraction is necessary it’s not the most important thing. Wallahi I can’t even keep track of the number of women I’ve observed in the world who are very good looking but have horrible personalities. When a woman is extremely attractive she can get away with some of the worst crimes and sins you can think of. It’s quite scary. If you do want a beautiful woman, it’s better to marry a woman who is naturally beautiful than a woman who only looks pretty because of committing tabarruj (makeup, tight revealing clothing, etc.) And of course she has to be someone who fears Allah, fulfills her Islamic obligations, and wear correct hijab.
